Abstract: An aquarium fish partition device separates an aggressive fish from other fish within an aquarium. The device includes a base, a top, and an inner perimeter wall extending between the base and the top defining a central interior space. An outer perimeter wall extends between the base and the top defining a medial space between the inner perimeter wall and the outer perimeter wall. Each of a plurality of slits extends through the inner perimeter wall wherein the central interior space is in fluid communication with the medial space. Each of a plurality of slots extends through the outer perimeter wall wherein the medial space is configured to be in fluid communication with an area outside of the outer perimeter wall. The slits are offset from the slots such that the inner perimeter wall and the outer perimeter wall are configured for retaining a fish in the central interior space.

Abstract: A mechanism for increasing resistance to Enterobacteriaceae infection is described. Additionally genetic markers for identifying traits associated with resistance to Enterobacteriaceae are also described. Thus the invention provides methods and compositions for the production of animals which exhibit increased resistance to Enterobacteriaceae infection. The invention further provides methods and compositions for marker assisted breeding to identify animals resistant to Enterobacteriaceae infection. The invention allows for cattle production with lower susceptibility to Enterobacteriaceae infection.

Abstract: A hook setting fishing pole holder holds and secures a fishing pole to allow for unattended fishing includes a base having a pointed stake and a bracket that pivotably holds a fishing pole holder connected by an axle mechanism. The bracket is held between a pair of bracket flanges and the pole holder is secured in a ready position by a retaining clip. The axle mechanism allows the rod to be balanced and to slightly bob up and down as a line and bait are taken by a fish. The force of a fish strike and subsequent movement disengages the pole holder from the clip allowing the fishing pole to pivot forward. The forward motion is immediately limited by a stop feature which sets the hook.

Abstract: A crop spraying vehicle includes a mast arm having a mast arm sleeve slidingly engaged with it. A crop spraying apparatus is coupled to the mast arm sleeve with a pendulum arm. The engagement between the mast arm and mast arm sleeve restricts and allows the transverse and longitudinal rotation, respectively, of the crop spraying apparatus.

Abstract: A device for trapping insects includes a cover and a trap or cage that are disposed at opposite ends of a housing. A fan is disposed in the housing and oriented to direct an airstream through the housing and toward the trap. A damper is disposed in the airstream proximate the trap and includes two independently operable doors. Each door is biased toward a closed position and opens during operation of the fan. Insects in the proximity of the device are overpowered by the airflow and blow into the trap and retained therein by the airflow or the closed orientation of the damper doors. The trap removably cooperates with the housing to facilitate disposal of insects captured therein.

Preferably, the crystallization inhibitor is N-octyl pyrrolidone, and the organic solvent, if present, preferably comprises diethylene glycol monoethyl ether. Therefore, this blue-green algae remover can also be widely used as an agent for preventing the generation of blue-green algae.

The ashtray has an attached lid that snaps into the wall supports with an opening to receive extinguished cigarettes. When the ashtray is inserted into the substrate, the external pressure exerted against the wall causes the blades to open. The ashtray is then twisted into the substrate causing the receptacle to fill with sand thereby covering the lid. Cigarettes are extinguished in the substrate. Once the upper surface is filled with waste, the ashtray is lifted and the substrate easily exits the wall cutouts and bottom opening. The butts are easily pushed through the lid. The ashtray can then be reinserted into the substrate covering the waste and providing for a fresh surface to receive additional cigarettes.

Such a fastener is advantageous because it offers the benefits of magnetic fasteners and is at the same time readily attachable to an article having strap ends with an existing pair of complementary engagement devices.
