  • Patent number: 9050204
Abstract: A system for removing an implanted stent or other object from a passageway in a patient includes a housing, an expansion element that operates between an enlarged mode in which the expansion element may radially expand to a diameter larger than the object diameter and a collapsed mode in which the expansion element radially contracts, and a plurality of radially contractible members configured to circumferentially engage the implanted object. A method for moving an implanted stent or other object from an initial location in a passageway includes positioning an expansion element proximate to the stent, expanding the expansion element thereby creating a tapered annular space between the stent and the passageway, advancing a plurality of members towards the tapered annular space, engaging the stent with the members, radially contracting the members to radially compress the stent, and moving the compressed stent from the initial location.

  • Patent number: 9050205
Abstract: Described herein are flexible implantable occluding devices that can, for example, navigate the tortuous vessels of the neurovasculature. The occluding devices can also conform to the shape of the tortuous vessels of the vasculature. In some embodiments, the occluding devices can direct blood flow within a vessel away from an aneurysm or limit blood flow to the aneurysm. Some embodiments describe methods and apparatus for adjusting, along a length of the device, the porosity of the occluding device. In some embodiments, the occluding devices allows adequate blood flow to be provided to adjacent structures such that those structures, whether they are branch vessels or oxygen-demanding tissues, are not deprived of the necessary blood flow.

  • Patent number: 9050210
Abstract: A system for applying a reduced pressure at a tissue site includes a reduced pressure source, a porous pad in fluid communication with the reduced pressure source, and a drape positionable over the porous pad to seal the porous pad at the tissue site. The porous pad includes a plurality of channel walls to form a plurality of channels between the channel walls. The channel walls are substantially liquid impermeable to prevent movement of a liquid through the channel walls but are gas permeable to allow movement of a gas through the channel walls as reduced pressure is applied at the tissue site. The liquid impermeability of the channel walls and the application of reduced pressure causes flow of the liquid to occur through the plurality of channels.

  • Patent number: 9050213
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses for assembling diaper pants, each including a chassis connected with front and back elastic belts. Opposing end regions of the chassis may be connected with regions of the elastic belts where the elasticity of the elastic belts has been removed or deactivated. An elastic laminate may be formed by intermittently bonding elastic strands with a first continuous substrate, defining bonded regions and non-bonded regions intermittently spaced along the machine direction. A second continuous substrate may be cut into discrete lengths or patches intermittently spaced along the machine direction. The discrete lengths of the second substrate may then be bonded with the first continuous substrate and elastic strands in the bonded regions. The elastic strands are then intermittently deactivated by severing the strands in the non-bonded regions. And plurality of chassis may then be bonded with non-bonded regions of the elastic laminate.

When each fastener is moved to the first position, the positioning stud is inserted into one of the positioning holes, while the first portion is engaged with the main piece. When the fastener is moved to the second position, the positioning stud is clear of the positioning hole, while the fastener is unable to leave the post.

  • Patent number: 9050240
Abstract: An adult toy, such as a phallus-shaped vibrator, has a hollow core, a tip coupled to an end of the core and a handle containing a control interface allowing user control of the vibrator. The handle, which is coupled to the core at a distal end to the tip, houses a peristaltic pump that engages a flexible pipe network. The hollow core incorporates an access door that, when opened, allows loading of a reservoir cartridge into an internal compartment of the core. Under selective microprocessor control, the peristaltic pump spins its rotor assembly to engage and squeeze part of the pipe network. This squeezing effect encourages lubricant, liquid hormonal stimulant or other chemical solutions to exit the cartridge and controllably flow through the pipe network. With ejection of lubricant from the cartridge, the internal volume of the cartridge decreases.

Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition for external use which is an organogel containing a fatty acid ester and a glycerolglycerin fatty acid ester, in particular, a novel transdermally absorbabedle pharmaceutical composition for external use which has a drug such as non-narcotic analgesics as an active ingredient made in organogel form containing a drug such as non-narcotic analgesics as an active ingredient, a fatty acid ester and a glycerolglycerin fatty acid ester, and a method for producing the composition. The pharmaceutical composition significantly improves skin permeability of drugs such as non-narcotic analgesics and allows a sufficient amount of drug to permeate the skin sustainably. Moreover, since the pharmaceutical composition is in organogel form, it can be easily applied to a preparation in practice. In addition, the pharmaceutical composition can provide efficient use and the like of drugs due to a high drug release rate and therefore is highly useful.
