Abstract: A waterproof protection pouch for mobile devices comprises a coupling set, a pouch, a sealing member and a retrieval tray. The coupling set includes a rigid ring, an opening and a clamping ring. The rigid ring has an annular latch groove on the outer circumference thereof. The pouch includes a connecting portion connected to the coupling set and a pouch opening. The sealing member includes a cap, a latch portion latched on the latch groove and a plug to wedge in the opening. The plug includes at least one annular sealing ridge on the outer circumference thereof. The retrieval tray has a carrying plate to hold the mobile device and a retrieval portion running through the pouch opening and opening of the coupling set to connect to the sealing member. Through the rigid ring and sealing member, the waterproof protection pouch can provide watertight and pressure withstanding effects.

Some devices and methods employ a high speed impacting principle to split the ends of the hair follicles. Some devices and methods aim to reduce the thickness of hairs near the tips through abrasion. Some devices and/or methods employ both crushing/impacting and abrasion in order to soften the feel of a subject's facial hair.

Abstract: The invention is a mantel or shelf made of a solid block of reclaimed wood with a hidden mounting assembly. The mantel has sufficient thickness, depth and length to accommodate an elongated L-shaped sheet metal bracket with planar horizontal and vertical flanges to allow selective lateral positioning of the mantel relative to its securement to spaced vertical wall studs. An L-shaped opening in the rear of the mantel is formed by a deep horizontal slot and a shallow vertical recess extending down from the slot. The slot is parallel to and near the top of the mantel, and receives the horizontal flange. The recess receives the vertical flange so the mantel is flush with the wall. A mounting fastener inserted into the mantel pierces the horizontal flange to capture the bracket and secure the mantel to the wall. The bracket, slot and recess are hidden from view during use.

Abstract: A uni-directional rigidifier for a foldable mattress for use in sofa beds has an arcuate, elongated shape. Lateral slits along the rigidifier allow it to easily flex when a load is applied while in an upright position. When the rigidifier is in an inverted position, an applied load causes the slits to close and the rigidifier to stiffen. The method describes the use of the uni-directional rigidifier in a foldable sofa bed mattress.
