Abstract: An absorbent article has an absorbing core and a liquid-permeable second sheet disposed on the absorbing core. The absorbing core includes a liquid-holding material and a liquid-permeable core-wrapping sheet. The core-wrapping sheet covers the liquid-holding material, but a portion of a top-side surface of the liquid-holding material is exposed. The second sheet contacts the liquid-holding material at the exposed portion. The second sheet is placed in direct contact with the cellulose fibers of the liquid-holding material, and liquid permeates from the second sheet into the liquid-holding material. Also, deformation of the liquid-holding material is prevented by the hydrophilic core-wrapping sheet covering the liquid-holding material.

Abstract: An absorbent article has a lower absorbing core and an upper absorbing core. Each absorbing core includes a liquid-holding material and a liquid-permeable core-wrapping sheet. The liquid-holding material is covered by the liquid-permeable core-wrapping sheet, but it also has an exposed portion not covered by the liquid-permeable core-wrapping sheet. The exposed portions of the lower absorbing core and the upper absorbing core face each other and the liquid-holding materials are connected with each other at the exposed portion. Because the liquid-holding material of the upper absorbing core is in direct contact with the liquid-holding material of the lower absorbing core, the area provides a path through which liquid flows smoothly from the upper absorbing core to the lower absorbing core. Also, because the upper and lower liquid-holding materials are covered by the core-wrapping sheets, deformation of the liquid-holding materials is prevented.

The wheelchair can include a frame, a seat moveable relative to the frame, a drive wheel, and one or more pairs of arm assemblies. The arm assembly includes a wheel configured to move from a first spatial location when the wheel chair is operating on flat, level ground to a second spatial location that is different than the first spatial location. Arm limiters that can selectively engage the arm assembly dependent on the position of the arm assembly and surface conditions of ground and can limit the range of motion of the arm assembly and sometimes other operational aspects of the chair.

The wheeled lifting device may include an extension mechanism and at least one multi-directional wheel, where the extension mechanism is configured to move the wheeled lifting device between the retracted configuration and the extended configuration. A surgical table extension is disclosed for positioning lower extremities. The table extension comprises a limb manipulator, a base, a platform support, and a perineal post. In another aspect, a surgical table extension comprises a brace assembly which contacts a patient foot, ankle, lower leg, and thigh. The brace assembly is connected to a limb manipulator, enabling the lower extremity to be rotated and manipulated. Rotation forces are applied to both the foot and the thigh, reducing stress on the patient knee.

In the alternative, the breast shield may form part of a breast shield adapter system which is connected to a conventional breast shield by a drain line so that a conventional breast pump system is used to supply a vacuum and to collect the milk.
