  • Patent number: 9137277
Abstract: A communication apparatus going to acquire transmission right accepts input of specifying a communication apparatus as a main target of output among other communication apparatuses, and then performs multi-address calling of output data to the other communication apparatuses. At executing output processing on the basis of the output data, the specified communication apparatus executes output processing such as image output and voice output for notifying the fact of being specified. In a system of PoC service or the like where one communication apparatus among a plurality of communication apparatuses acquires transmission right of transmitting voice data, and then performs multi-address calling of voice data to a plurality of the other communication apparatuses, it is avoided that a target person of speech who is a main target of transmission of voice data among all users operating the other communication apparatuses fails to listen to a speech.

  • Patent number: 9137281
Abstract: A media system includes a computer network, a plurality of media devices coupled to the computer network, and a system controller coupled to the computer network. The computer network allows a guest device supporting a network-based media sharing protocol to be coupled thereto. The computer network by default prevents the guest device from utilizing the network-based media sharing protocol to share media content with the media devices. The system controller selects a subset of the media devices for which media sharing is to be enabled for the guest device, the subset including at least one of the media devices but not all of the media devices. The system controller dynamically reconfigures components of the computer network in response to an event occurrence to enable the guest device to utilize the network-based media sharing protocol to share media over the computer network with only the subset of the media devices.

  • Patent number: 9137282
Abstract: Mobile wireless devices may receive data streams from multiple remote sensors. The sensors may have limited power supplies and memory capacity. Aspects of the invention use statistical characteristics of the sensor data streams and the cost of acquiring a single element of each stream to determine what sequence the sensors should send their data streams in. The cost of acquiring the data may be modified dynamically, depending on parameters such as block size. Additional factors, such as a sensor's buffer capacity, may limit the amount of stream elements that may be cached and affect the sensors' stream transmit sequence. The evaluation order may be dynamically modified using an event processing engine, to reflect both changing statistics of underlying sensor stream tuples and time-varying acquisition costs associated with individual streams. This helps to increase in the operational lifetime of the sensors and associated monitoring applications.

  • Patent number: 9137284
Abstract: A network device includes a receiving device, a detector, and a circuit. The receiving device receives a first signal. The first signal includes first and second packets. The first packets correspond to intervals of the first signal containing voice activity. The second packets correspond to intervals of the first signal not containing voice activity. The detector detects the first packets and generates an indication signal identifying the first packets. The circuit, based on the indication signal, inserts a bit in either each of the first packets and not the second packets or each of the second packets and not the first packets. The bit inserted into each of the first packets or the second packets indicates which of the packets in the first signal correspond to intervals of the first signal containing voice activity.

  • Patent number: 9137286
Abstract: In a method of classifying streaming media data, one or more media servers are identified. In response, the media servers are added to a list of media servers. It is determined that one or more messages sent by one or more clients are sent to a first media server included on the list of media servers. In response, the one or more clients are added to a list of clients that is associated with the first media server. It is determined that a request for streaming media is sent to the first media server by a first client included on the list of clients. In response, a rule to determine whether subsequent traffic between the first media server and the first client is utilized. • Patent number: 9137287
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and systems for providing high availability voice applications. More specifically, one or more applications may share an extension of a switch among each other. This allows each application to receive data from the switch without occupying additional extensions of the switch. A first application sharing the extension with a second application may be provided as a backup to the second application in case the second application fails. Thus, the second application does not represent a single point of failure for the overall system.

  • Patent number: 9137288
Abstract: Disclosed is a fully push-based and scalable web application architecture unifying discrete and persistent web services. It houses a database slave on the web server machine to leverage the replication capabilities of common database systems. In doing so, the replication of data between a database master (located on a separate machine) and a slave (located on the web server machine) serves to prompt the web server software of any changes in the data, with which it may then generate an updated web service response to push to the relevant clients. Neither the clients nor the web servers ever need to blindly poll a data source for changes. Furthermore, data is transmitted in the same RESTful style using a persistent (i.e. WebSocket) connection as it would be using the corresponding discrete HTTP request.

Abstract: A communication device includes a memory that has a first storage area that stores an identifier of a first communication device, which is in a communication session with the communication device, and a second storage area that stores an identifier of a second communication device, which established a communication session with the communication device. The communication device performs the steps of: notifying the identifier stored in the first storage area to the first communication device, receiving an identifier stored in a first storage area of the first communication device from the first communication device, determining whether the identifier received from the first communication device is stored in the second storage area of the communication device, restricting re-establishment of the communication session with the first communication device when the identifier received from the first communication device is stored in the second storage area of the communication device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products provide personalized feedback in a cloud-based environment. A client device routes image data and audio data to a server for analysis. The server analyzes the image data to recognize people of interest. The server also analyzes the audio data to generate audible feedback. Because the server performs image recognition and audio processing, the client device is relieved of these intensive operations.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying information as protected information using a structure is described. A DLP system, incorporating a structure analyzer, monitors outbound data transfers performed by the computing system for violations of a DLP policy. The DLP system analyzes a structure of information contained in an outbound data transfer against a protected structure defined in a DLP policy. The DLP system identifies the information as protected information to be protected by the DLP policy based on the analysis, and, when the information is identified as protected, the DLP system detects a violation of the DLP policy. The protected structure may be derived from document templates, document forms, or from a set of training documents.

  • Patent number: 9137320
Abstract: Disclosed are “graphics overrides.” An override accepts a stream of graphics commands as produced by an application and then modifies the stream before it is rendered by the GPU. Different overrides perform different modifications. One override can modify a stream of graphics commands in response to another stream. Overrides can enforce conformity with a visual paradigm and, by being modified, can support a change to that paradigm without requiring the applications to change. Overrides can monitor the entire computing environment and improve the response to that environment of a particular application: For example, an override monitors frames as they are produced by an application. If the application cannot keep up with a fixed frame rate, then the override produces “synthetic” frames to take the place of missing frames. Overrides are not restricted to fixing existing problems. Rather, applications can be developed that depend upon the presence of overrides.

  • Patent number: 9137324
Abstract: Methods, systems, computer program products, and methods of doing business by using dynamic capacity-on-demand techniques for re-routing traffic in a distributed computing network. When demand on an enterprise's resources exceeds some predetermined level, dynamic modifications cause static content (such as images) to be served from resources which are external to the enterprise, such as a caching system which is located close to the enterprise's end users. When demand falls below the predetermined level, the modifications are effectively reversed, such that the external resources are no longer used. The predetermined level may apply to a single monitored device, or to a group of monitored devices. The dynamic capacity-on-demand techniques may also be used for dynamic types of content, such as for dynamically re-routing access to an application program executing on an external resource, and may be used for internal capacity-on-demand as well.
