The vacuum planter exhaust filtration system generally includes an air filter fluidly positioned between the fan and the planting units of the vacuum planter. The air filter removes the particulate material prior to being exhausted into the surrounding environment by the fan. The air filter utilizes cyclonic separation to separate the particulate material from the contaminated air from the planting units. A particle container collects the removed particulate material and allows for environmentally friendly disposal of the particulate material.

Abstract: An improved dual metering tube systems for use in directing liquid to the row units of an agricultural implement uses metering tubes of different diameters, a pressure sensor to sense the pressure in a trunk line through which liquid is fed to the metering tubes and a controller for operating one or more valves to selectively direct liquid through only a set of small diameter tubes, only a set of large diameter tubes or both the small and large diameter tubes. Abstract: Disclosed is a self-cleaning rake. The rake includes an elongated shaft having a rake head on one end thereof. The rake head includes a plurality of elongated tines that can be used to rake leaves and other debris. A cleaning bar is slidably disposed on the tines and can be moved from the first end of the tines towards the second end in order to remove debris lodged between the tines. An extension rod is secured at a first end to the cleaning bar and extends through the rake head and into the interior of the elongated shaft of the self-cleaning rake. A grip is slidably positioned on the exterior of the shaft and is operably connected to the extension rod, such that moving the grip moves the cleaning bar along the tines. The extension rod may be spring-loaded so that the extension rod automatically retracts when extended.

Abstract: An agricultural round baler has an electronic control unit (ECU), a bale diameter sensor, a gate position sensor, and an electro-hydraulic valve that controls the flow to the gate lift cylinder. The ECU determines the height to which the gate must be raised based on the bale diameter. When the gate reaches the desired height, the ECU closes or restricts the electro-hydraulic valve for a brief period of time thereby momentarily slowing or stopping gate the gate. Momentarily trapping the bale between the gate and ground allows the bale to come to rest before the bale is released from the baler. The gate can then be fully opened so that the tractor and baler can be moved clear of the bale before closing the gate.

The sleeve is at least partially opaque, transparent or translucent. Abstract: A protective horticultural bag is an apparatus that is placed over a plant growing container in order to provide a physical barrier between the root ball of the plant within the container and the exterior environment. The protective horticultural bag features a tubular membrane that is stretchable in order to accommodate various designs of plant growing containers. An elastic cord is utilized to increase or decrease the size of an open end of the tubular membrane in order to allow the stem of the plant to extend through the open end as the plant grows. A cord clamp is utilized to fix the elastic cord in place on the tubular membrane when the size of the open end is as desired. The tubular membrane is breathable in order to allow liquid and air to pass through the tubular membrane while preventing insects and other pests from accessing the plant.

Abstract: The invention is a crop separator comprising a main platform and two angled arms and at least one attaching member with bolt holes to attach the crop separator to irrigation machinery. The angled arms, together with the outer edge of the main platform, form a smooth outer crop abutting surface such that when the crops first touch one of the angled arms, the crops are allowed to slide along the outer crop abutting surface without catching on any rough surface, ripping out the crop or otherwise damaging the crop.

Grain from a near-isogenic wheat line comprising the dwarfmg Rht-B1c allele was subjected to sodium azide mutagenesis. Plants exhibiting early leaf elongation rates or mature plant height greater than the dwarf parent were selected and the Rht-B1 gene sequenced. This identified 35 mutated alleles of Rht-B1c. Similar methods were also used to identify mutant alleles of the dwarfmg s1n1d allele in barley, where DELLA is encoded by the s1n1 gene.

The bobber has a wide upper portion and a lower portion in the shape of an inverted cone pointed downward into the water when the bobber is floating. The internal light is positioned in the lowest part of the bobber when the bobber is in an upright vertical position. The bobber is very stable in the water and effectively and consistently focuses the light directly on the bait. Thus, the bobber is particularly effective in attracting fish to the bait.
