Abstract: An agricultural implement has a ground opening and closing assembly that readily allows for adjustment of a pair of closing disks into different, discreet or infinitely variable, home positions that vary in height, disk spacing and fore/aft dimension. In one form, a pair of disk mounts have a pair of mounting receptacles for each support arm. Each support arm is configured to be inserted into one of the receptacles to set the height and fore/aft position of the associated closing disk. Mounting openings can be formed in the disk mounts and the support arms, and a simple pin mechanism received in aligned mounting openings can effect manual disk adjustment without tools. The disk mounts and the support arms can have multiple mounting openings spaced apart differently from the ground opening member to vary the spacing between the closing disks.

A distribution network conveys products to the furrow openers, and a feeding mechanism controls flow of products into the distribution network. A flow sensor downstream from the feeding mechanism detects when products are flowing at a sensing location, and a timer measures a delay period between the time the feeding mechanism starts or stops flow and when the flow sensor starts or stops detecting flow. The delay period is adjusted to account for the location of the flow sensor. The mobility of the grid apparatus allows repositioning throughout the growing season while still retaining the shoots within the grid openings.
