Patent number: 9242335Abstract: A wheel rim polishing tool simplifies the process of polishing tractor trailer wheel rims. The tool also reduces polishing time by polishing more surface area of the wheel rim per rotation as compared to what can be accomplished by hand or by means of a drill adapted with a polishing head. The tool further keeps the cost of polishing the wheel rims low by making a trip to a metal specialty shop no longer necessary. The wheel rim polishing tool is a portable device that allows the tractor trailer owner to polish their wheel rims quickly and easily.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2013Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Inventor: Donald C. Patent number: 9242337Abstract: A method for controlling the residue clearing process of a chemical mechanical polishing (“CMP”) process is provided. Dynamic in-situ profile control (“ISPC”) is used to control polishing before residue clearing starts, and then a new polishing recipe is dynamically calculated for the clearing process. Several different methods are disclosed for calculating the clearing recipe. First, in certain implementations when feedback at T0 or T1 methods are used, a post polishing profile and feedback offsets are generated in ISPC software. Based on the polishing profile and feedback generated from ISPC before the start of the clearing process, a flat post profile after clearing is targeted. The estimated time for the clearing step may be based on the previously processed wafers (for example, a moving average of the previous endpoint times). The calculated pressures may be scaled to a lower (or higher) baseline pressure for a more uniform clearing.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2014Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: APPLIED MATERIALS, INC.Inventors: Jun Qian, Sivakumar Dhandapani, Benjamin Cherian, Thomas H. The robot includes a first link and a second link positioned closer to an end effector than the first link. Start and end points are specified, and velocity patterns are generated for joints driving the first and second links based on the specified start end points. The velocity patterns enable a movement of the second link to cause i) a reaction for increasing an acceleration force generated by the first joint when the end effector is started to be moved from the start point toward the end point, and ii) a reaction for increasing a deceleration force generated by the first joint when the end effector is stopping to the end point.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2013Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: DENSO WAVE INCORPORATEDInventor: Yoshirou Iwasaki

Patent number: 9242377Abstract: A robot includes a base, a first arm that rotates around a first rotation axis, a second arm that rotates around a second rotation axis extending in a direction different than the first rotation axis, a third arm that rotates around a third rotation axis extending in a direction parallel to the second rotation axis, a first inertia sensor at the first arm, a second (a) inertia sensor at the third arm, a first angle sensor at a first drive source, a third angle sensor at a third drive source, and the drive sources rotate the respective arms. Angular velocities from the first inertia sensor and the first angle sensor are fed back to a first drive source control unit. Angular velocities from the second (a) inertia sensor and the third angle sensor are fed back to a second drive source control unit.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2013Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventors: Akihiro Gomi, Masaki Motoyoshi, Akio Niu

Patent number: 9242378Abstract: The invention notifies a robot controller of the need to re-create map data. A robot control system (1) includes a robot (2) that moves along a path while detecting obstacles, and a robot control terminal (3) that records map data (321) and specifies the path of said robot (2), whereby said robot (2) uses lasers to make measurements while in motion and sends the results as sensor data (324) to said robot control terminal (3), which uses said sensor data to generate simulated sensor data (325) along the future path of said robot, and if the proportion of sections for which simulated sensor data and said map data (321) do not coincide exceeds a threshold value, the user is notified of a reconstruction of said map data (321).Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2010Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: HITACHI, LTD.Inventors: Kosei Matsumoto, Toshio Moriya

Patent number: 9242379Abstract: The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer readable media for producing realistic camera motion for stop motion animation. One method includes moving an object in a first space, wherein at least a portion of the movement is effected by human or other living organism. The method further includes tracking motion of the object as the object is moved in the first space and generating corresponding tracked motion data. The method further includes generating, using the tracked motion data, robot control information for controlling a robot to move a physical stop motion animation camera in a stop motion animation set. The method further includes controlling, using the robot control information, the robot to move the stop motion animation camera in the stop motion animation set.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2015Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: THE TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNYSYLVANIAInventor: Joshua Peter Mosley

Patent number: 9242380Abstract: A robot arm temporarily stops when a contact detector detects contact. A holding motion selecting unit then selects one of continuously stopped motion, directionally limited motion, and directionally unlimited motion in accordance with information including one or both of a distance between the robot arm and a contacted object and force applied to the robot arm by a person. A motion controller causes the selected motion to achieve holding motion.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2014Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: Panasonic Intellectual Property Management Co., Ltd.Inventors: Mayumi Komatsu, Yasunao Okazaki
