Abstract: Systems (100) and methods (1200) for recoil absorption. The methods comprising: causing a moving carrier (102) to freely travel linearly in a first direction by discharging at least one recoil producing device (110-114); absorbing an impulse force resulting from discharging the recoil producing device using a spring (122, 124) having a first end coupled to the moving carrier and a second end (130) coupled to a fixed frame member (132); and applying a pulling force by the spring to the moving carrier in a second direction opposed from the first direction at an end of spring travel, whereby a uni-directional force transfer mechanism (610) is caused to engage an elongate latching element so as to latch the moving carrier in position and prevent the moving carrier from freely traveling in the second direction.

Abstract: A munition having a warhead and an ogive coaxially rotatably mounted to the warhead. A controllable motor is mechanically coupled to the ogive to control the rotational position of the ogive relative to the warhead. The ogive includes an asymmetric surface while a windscreen is detachably connected to the ogive over the asymmetric surface so that, with the windscreen attached to the ogive, the outer surface of the ogive together with the windscreen are axisymmetric in shape. A detachment mechanism, when activated, detaches the windscreen from the ogive which permits steering of the munition by placement of the asymmetric surface relative to the warhead. The introduction of the asymmetric surface during flight produces an asymmetric pressure field resulting in a lateral force on the munition causing is to change direction.

The reflected pattern of light can include an array of shapes such as dots whose orientation and location can provide indications of uniformity for the housing. The array of shapes are analyzed to determine certain geometric properties such as area for each shape in the array of shapes. The geometric properties can thereafter be compared to a predetermined geometric, threshold, or tolerance value, and each shape can be assigned a rank of uniformity. Once a rank of uniformity is defined for each shape, a compilation of uniformity values can be generated and used to find portions on the housing where the housing is not uniform or flat.

Abstract: An intelligent earpiece to be worn over an ear of a user is described. The earpiece includes a processor connected to the IMU, the GPS unit and the at least one camera. The processor can recognize an object in the surrounding environment by analyzing the image data based on the stored object data and at least one of the inertial measurement data or the location data. The processor can determine a desirable event or action based on the recognized object, the previously determined user data, and a current time or day. The processor can determine a destination based on the determined desirable event or action. The processor can determine a navigation path for navigating the intelligent guidance device to the destination based on the determined destination, the image data, the inertial measurement data or the location data. The processor can determine output data based on the determined navigation path.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method of tracking multiple objects with a probabilistic hypothesis density filter is provided. The method includes obtaining measurements corresponding to a first object with at least one sensor, the at least one sensor providing one or more first track IDs for the measurements. A Tk+1 first predicted intensity is generated for the first object based on a Tk first track intensity. A Tk+1 measurement from a first sensor of the at least one sensors is obtained, the first sensor providing a second track ID for the Tk+1 measurement. The second track ID is compared to the one or more first track IDs, and the Tk+1 first predicted intensity is selectively updated with the Tk+1 measurement based on whether the second track ID matches any of the one or more first track IDs to generate a Tk+1 first measurement-to-track intensity for the first object.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method of tracking multiple objects with a probabilistic hypothesis density filter is provided. The method includes providing a plurality of intensities. The plurality of intensities are pruned based on their respective weight to remove lower weighted intensities and produce a first set of intensities. Intensities in the first set of intensities that are identified as corresponding to the same object are then merged to produce a second set of intensities. The second set of intensities is then pruned again to produce a final set of intensities, wherein pruning the second set of intensities includes in the final set of intensities, up to a threshold number of intensities having the largest weights in the second set of intensities and excludes from the final set of intensities any remaining intensities in the second set of intensities.

Abstract: This document discloses a system that selects a path to reach a destination in a transportation network. The system receives information related to a public transportation network with multiple stops. Each stop includes at least one associated link with another stop. Each the link represents a mode of transportation between two stops. When the system receives a request for a routes between an origin and a destination within the transportation network, it will determine a set of routes between the origin and the destination using an iterative process without reference to a graph representation of the network. The system will select a shortest path that corresponds to the route having the earliest arrival time at the destination. The system will also select an alternative path that corresponds to a route having an arrival time that is no more than a threshold amount later than the earliest arrival time.

Abstract: In a position calculation device, an inertial navigation arithmetic unit calculates the position, the velocity, and the posture angle of the device by performing inertial navigation arithmetic using a detection value of an IMU, and a Kalman filter unit presumptively calculates the position, the velocity, the posture angle, or the like of the device by performing Kalman filter processing using an arithmetic result of the inertial navigation arithmetic unit. In addition, a KF initial parameter setting unit sets an initial value of an error covariance matrix which is an error index value used in the Kalman filter processing according to a difference with respect to an environment of the previous use.

Abstract: The disclosed subject matter provides for traffic analysis employing timed fingerprint location information. In an aspect, TFL information can be associated with location characteristics for a UE. These location characteristics can describe the motion of the UE. As such, with proper analysis, the motion of the UE can be correlated to traffic patterns. Transportation analytics can employ TFL information to provide real time or near real time traffic information, forecast traffic conditions, or automate response to traffic conditions based on TFL information. Whereas TFL can provide advantages over other types of location information systems, leveraging TFL information in traffic analysis can reflect these advantages. Further, whereas TFL information can be gathered from nearly all modern and many legacy mobile devices, large volumes of TFL information can be employed in related transportation analytics.
