Abstract: An energy diffusing helmet assembly includes an outer hard shell and an inner fluid filled bladder. The hard shell defines a head cavity into which a head of a wearer is inserted. The fluid filled bladder is positioned within the outer hard shell. There is further provided a fluid filled impact dispersal field mounted on a torso of the wearer. A connective conduit connects the fluid filled bladder and the impact dispersal field. A force of impact exerted upon the fluid filled bladder increases pressure in the impact dispersal field through fluid via the connective conduit.

Abstract: A sole, sole insert or sole component for footwear that includes at least one outer bladder, at least one inner bladder located in the outer bladder, an internal sipe, and at least one electronic control system including a microprocessor. The internal sipe is formed by a portion of an inner surface of the outer bladder and a portion of an outer surface of the inner bladder. The surface portions forming the sipe oppose each other and are configured to move relative to each other in a sliding motion. The sipe includes a lubricating media with at least a magnetorheological liquid for use to increase or decrease the sliding resistance between the opposing sipe surfaces by altering an arrangement of metal particles in the magnetorheological fluid. The control system controls a flow resistance of thee magnetorheological liquid by altering the arrangement of the metal particles in the magnetorheological fluid.

Abstract: Footwear is disclosed having an upper secured to a sole and defining at least a front portion. An apron portion having first and second lateral portions and a lower end, each of the first and second lateral portions including a free lateral outer edge can be attached at the lower end to the front portion. A first fastener for releasably connecting the first and second lateral portions together is also provided, the first fastener being configurable between a fastened position in which the first and second lateral portions are held adjacent one another, and an unfastened position in which at least an upper portion of each of the first and second lateral portions, respectively, can be readily separated.

Abstract: A removable cleat includes a plurality of projections, dividing into sets, with each set of projections made of different materials. The cleat includes a coupling element, for attachment to a shoe, and a ground contacting element. The ground contacting element contains a plurality of projections, with the projections divided into at least two sets. The projections may be disposed about the perimeter of the ground contacting element, such that each set of projections does not extend more than half the perimeter. Additionally, some of the plurality of projections may be located interior to the perimeter. Further, each set of projections may be oriented in a particular direction with respect to a plane formed by the perimeter. Each interspersed set of projections may be made of a different material, or each projection may itself be made of a different material.

Abstract: A sole is provided in a single-moulding made of non-rigid but elastic material having one or more vertical elements folded over each other in such a manner that the horizontal extension thereof mechanically adapts the width of the sole to the different width of the assembly lasts of the upper of a shoe. This also allows adapting the width of the sole to the variation of the conformation of the feet generated by the daily swellings thereof leaving the normal flexibility and comfort of the shoe unaltered. The user may stabilize the width of the sole to the possible deformation of the foot by injecting, from outside into the widened internal cavity, a foamed two-component fluid material which, upon solidification within a few minutes, blocks any widened part of the sole to the conformation or to the deformation of the feet of the user.

Abstract: An article of footwear may incorporate a chamber with an outer barrier and a tether element. The barrier may be formed from a polymer material that defines an interior cavity, and tether element may be located within the interior cavity and joined to opposite sides of the barrier. Upon pressurization of the chamber, the tether element may extend across the interior cavity and be placed in tension by the outward force of a pressurized fluid within the interior cavity. The tether element may have a variety of configurations. For example, the tether element may have a diagonal orientation, or different tether elements may have different lengths. A tether element may also have plates or tie pieces secured to opposite sides of the chamber, with one or more tethers extending between. Also, the tether element may include one of more sheets that extend across the interior cavity.

Due to this, in the molding hook and loop fastener an outer side and an inner side of the barrier can be divided by the vertical wall array and the connecting part, and flexibility of the molding hook and loop fastener can be improved.

The frames are rounded sections of tubular material that are connected at their terminal ends at two hinge devices. The hinges allow the rounded frame sections to be opened and closed with respect to one another, providing access to the internal netting or closure thereof. In an open configuration, the frames provide a structure to hold the netted bag in an open position, wherein balls may easily be placed into the bag. In a closed position, the frame members mate together to form a closed bag and handled device for improved carrying and transport of the device and sports ball contained therein. In an alternate configuration, the frames may be positioned to act as a sports goal for recreational purposes, or to facilitate entry of sports balls within the bag cavity.

Abstract: A cosmetic applicator system that comprises first and second applicator heads that are identical or substantially identical and coaxial with each other. The first applicator head extends from a closure that is able to engage a product reservoir to seal and unseal the reservoir. The second applicator head is non-functional, and extends from the closure in a direction that is opposite to the first applicator head. When the closure is engaged on the reservoir, the first applicator head is immersed in the reservoir, while the second applicator head remains visible. A transparent protective cap may be provided for the second applicator head.

Abstract: A method of determining a fault on a power line conductor includes the steps of determining a magnitude and a direction of a load current waveform in the power line conductor with a loop coil and determining a magnitude and a direction of a fault current waveform in the power line conductor with the loop coil. A polarity of the fault current waveform is compared with a polarity of the load current waveform to determine if a change in polarity between the fault current waveform and the load current waveform occurred to determine the direction of the fault. Data representing a fault to at least one remote location is transmitted when a predetermined trigger value is reached.

One or more central carriers can be suspended via a flexible bridge between a pair of support carriers attached to the head frame. The bridge may include rigid supports and flexible elastomeric supports. A pair of rigid, U-shape frames are rotatively connected together to form an A-frame shaped support. Dimensions of the chair in an operational, deployed configuration may be reduced along two dimensions (i.e., height, length) into a compacted configuration for storage or transport. The novel chair may be compacted into a thin bundle that may be rolled up in and contained within fabric that forms a portion of the chair. In its compacted, rolled up state, the novel chair is suitable for transportation within a backpack or other such enclosure.

Abstract: An apparatus for organizing and storing many pairs of sunglasses conveniently. The hanging sunglass holder is a hanging, fabric panel equipped with a series of vertically stepped, horizontally drawn cords or strings upon which multiple pairs of sunglasses, folded, and flat could be hung by their temples. The fabric panel, able to be rolled up for storage when not in use, serves not only as a safe and secure apparatus for storing sunglasses, but also as an attractive, tapestry-like, individualized wall-hanging in its own right.

Abstract: A magnetic frame assembly includes an outer portion including an outer perimeter, an inner perimeter, a front side and a back side; an inner portion configurable with said outer portion, said inner portion including an outer perimeter, a front side and a back side, and a magnetic material disposed on at least one of the back side of the outer portion and the back side of the inner portion. The inner perimeter of the outer portion defines a nesting region configurable with the outer perimeter of the inner portion such that said inner portion is removably insertable into said nesting region.
