Abstract: An outdoor device of an air conditioner includes a compressor, an outdoor fan, and an outdoor control board. The outdoor device includes: a control unit that controls the compressor and the outdoor fan; and a temperature detector that detects an ambient temperature of an electric component provided on the outdoor control board. The control unit, when the compressor is stopped, stops the outdoor fan and then determines whether a temperature detected by the temperature detector is equal to or higher than a threshold, and, when it is determined that the temperature detected by the temperature detector is equal to or higher than the threshold, operates the outdoor fan at a protective rotation number that is lower than a rotation number of the outdoor fan while the compressor is in operation so as to circulate air, thereby cooling the outdoor control board.

Abstract: An air conditioning system can be toggled between a heating mode, in which heat is withdrawn from a source (e.g., a geothermal source) and deposited into a conditioned space (e.g., a building), and a cooling mode, in which heat is withdrawn from the conditioned space and deposited into the source. The air conditioning system uses a combination of efficiency-enhancing technologies, including injection of superheated vapor into the system's compressor from an economizer circuit, adjustable compressor speed, the use of one or coaxial heat exchangers and the use of electronic expansion valves that are continuously adjustable from a fully closed to various open positions. A controller may be used to control the system for optimal performance in both the heating and cooling modes, such as by disabling the economizer circuit and vapor injection when the system is in the cooling mode.

Abstract: In this container refrigerator, the permissible equivalent negative-phase-sequence current of a generator to be connected is calculated in Step S3 based on its capacitance. Next, in Step S4, the power consumption of an inverter device to generate the equivalent negative-phase-sequence current is calculated. Then, in Step S6, the equivalent negative-phase-sequence current generated by the container refrigerator is calculated based on the power consumption of this inverter device. Thereafter, in Step S9, It is compared to Itg. If It>Itg is satisfied, It is restricted until It?Itg is met by lowering the output frequency of the inverter device repeatedly in multiple stages. Consequently, even if the generator connected has small capacitance, the operation may be continued at a number of rotations appropriate for that small capacitance without causing the generator to overheat or be burned out.

The impeller includes a plurality of impeller blades that are spaced around a periphery of the impeller and that project forward from a rear flange portion of the impeller and the impeller blades define a plurality of air channels. A barrel assembly includes the barrel clamp tube, a flash suppressor mounted to the front end of the barrel clamp tube, and a barrel clamp co liar mounted to the rear end of the barrel clamp tube. The impeller is mounted to the barrel clamp tube between the flash suppressor and the barrel clamp collar.

Abstract: This application is directed to a firearm that is functional, but is not fully functional as it is incapable of discharging ammunition, e.g., causing ammunition to ignite and discharge a bullet. Related methods, techniques, and approaches are also discussed. In embodiments, the firearm is functional, but not fully functional and it is impractical and/or irreversible to alter the firearm to make it fully functional through replacement of interchangeable parts that correspond to that particular firearm model. In embodiments, the firearm is also identifiable as being less than fully functional, e.g., it is incapable of discharging ammunition.

Abstract: A lock-up system for a firearm comprising a wedge assembly having a top wedge member and a bottom wedge member, each having complementary inclined surfaces; a barrel nut that is configured to receive an outer portion of an upper receiver; and a handguard that is configured to receive the barrel nut and the combined wedge assembly within a lower lip of the handguard. The wedge assembly may include an optional assembly screw and a locator pin where the top wedge member and bottom wedge member are tightly joined to each other via the assembly screw and the locater pin. In use, the lock-up system is used to join the handguard and barrel nut to a corresponding upper receiver with little to no play between the handguard and the upper receiver such that the connection between the two via the wedge assembly is intended to be permanent.

Abstract: A sight for a firearm is provided. The sight is structured to fit within a channel defined within the firearm. In some examples, the channel is defined within the slide of a semi automatic handgun. The sight includes a base that fits within the channel, and a visual index portion extending outward from the base. A removable firearm component blocks an open end of the channel, thereby retaining the sight, when the removable firearm component is installed on the firearm. In some examples, a rear sight may be secured within a channel defined within a slide by a firing pin stop. In other examples, a front sight may be secured within a channel defined within a slide by a barrel bushing. Some examples of the sight may include an adjustment mechanism for moving the visual index portion with respect to the base.

Abstract: An electronic conditioning device delivers electric shocks correlated with sounds or driven by a signal associated with a sound sequence. The sound sequence can be a few seconds of a recorded human voice, a siren, a single tone, and so forth. A sound generator emits the sound sequence audibly. A power supply is electrically connected to the various components and provides energy to a shock inducer or electrodes embedded in the skin of a target. The device administers voltage spikes and sounds in a coordinated fashion. The conditioning encourages the target to associate certain sounds with the electric shock. Power may be supplied by a battery, a piezoelectric flexible film or movable magnet that converts kinetic motion into electric energy. Preferably, the device is applied to a target by loading the device into a shotgun shell and firing the loaded shell at the target from a rifle, pistol or shotgun.
