The ice depresser device generally includes a filter disc and a handle extending from the filter disc. The filter disc includes an upper cavity defined by a first flange and a lower cavity defined by a second flange. A plurality of filter openings are included across the body of the filter disc. As the filter disc is pushed downwardly through an ice hole, ice shavings will be pushed downwardly by the lower cavity to be swept away by the undercurrent. Other ice shavings will be pushed upwardly to be retained within the upper cavity by the pump action of the filter disc as it is drawn out of the ice hole. Thus, ice shavings or other debris may be both pushed under the current and removed from the ice hole utilizing the present invention.

Abstract: A composite potato chip and pretzel product includes a first layer made from a first dough and a second layer made from a second dough adjacent the first layer. The first dough is a potato dough and the second dough is a wheat dough. Also provided is a method for making a composite potato chip and pretzel product. Potato dough and wheat dough are prepared and passed through first and second sheet rollers, respectively, to produce a composite dough sheet having a potato dough layer adjacent a wheat dough layer. The composite dough sheet is then cut into a plurality of individual composite dough pieces, a layer of a cooker solution is applied on the wheat dough layer to form coated composite dough pieces. The coated composite dough pieces are then baked and subsequently dried to form a plurality of the composite potato chip and pretzel product.

Abstract: A system for processing carcass parts includes an overhead conveyor and a saw module comprising supporting means for interacting with a lower end portion of each incoming carcass part, the supporting means adjusting an angular position of the carcass parts as a result of the carcass parts resting at least partly on the supporting means while being conveyed by the overhead conveyor. A positioning conveyor having a plurality of spaced-apart positioning pair structures arranged below the overhead conveyor and adjacent to the supporting means receives the carcass parts from the supporting means. Each carcass part is guided into a predetermined position within the positioning pair structures and cut at a predetermined position, e.g. defined by a 360° cut through skin and muscle structures of each of the carcass parts.

Abstract: Poultry carcasses are chilled rapidly when exposed to a flow of gaseous air at a temperature in the range from about ?50° C. to about ?120° C. for a period of time in the range from about 1 s to about 60 s. The flow is directed over and into the body cavity of the carcasses. The carcasses are orientated in the flow such that the sternum of each carcass faces downstream. One advantage of the process is that the number of viable microorganisms present on the carcasses is reduced significantly while avoiding freeze-damage to the carcasses.
