  • Patent number: 9327482
Abstract: A method of forming a bonded part with a press-fit, vulcanized rubber member residing in compression between two rigid members and bonded thereto. The rubber member is a laminate with a core layer between two self-bonding rubber layers. The bonded part may be, for example, a vibration damper, isolator or absorber. The core layer and the self-bonding layers may have the same primary elastomer and cure system type, and the self-bonding layers have an adhesion promoter not present in the core layer. The adhesive layers may be from 0.05 to 1 mm thick or from 5% to 10% of the laminate thickness. The method includes forming a rubber core layer, curing it, applying a rubber adhesive layer on each side to form a laminate, inserting the laminate between two rigid members under compression, and post-curing to form a bonded part. • Patent number: 9327483
Abstract: A simple and innovative process for manufacturing a high performance mechanical polarizing device is provided. The invention utilizes an inexpensive, high output production process where a transparent film substrate is coated with a non-transparent layer by deposition or other wet or dry method. Then a photoresist or a nano-imprint lithography process is used to overlay the non-transparent coated film with a pattern. The exposed non-transparent material is then removed by means of acid or base etching or the use of other mechanical or nano-technology removal methods. The photoresist is then removed and a protective layer may then be applied to the polarizer substrate. According to another embodiment, nano-imprinting techniques are used to prepare the polarizer substrate. The process may be automated in one or more embodiments, and lends itself to a high speed production manufacturing line, utilizing roll-to-roll, sheet fed or other methods of automated manufacturing.

  • Patent number: 9327488
Abstract: A carrier and a substrate are aligned even if an imager cannot be simultaneously focused on alignment marks formed on both the carrier and the substrate. Center of gravity positions G1m of an alignment pattern element AP1 on a substrate and G2m of an alignment pattern element AP2 on a transparent blanket are calculated by image processing from an image IM imaged via the blanket by a CCD camera. The position of the center of gravity Gm2 is specified by a process associated with edge extraction from the image imaged with the alignment pattern element AP2 on the blanket being in focus. High spatial frequency components are removed and low frequency components are extracted for the alignment pattern element AP1 on the substrate imaged out of focus to have a blurred outline, and the position of the center of gravity G1m is specified from an extraction result.

A negative-pressure tank atmospheric air opening valve switches the negative-pressure tank between a state shut off from the atmospheric air and a state open thereto. The pressurizing-side communication valve and the negative-pressure tank atmospheric air opening valve are of a normally-open type closed when electrified and open when not. The negative-pressure side communication valve is of a normally-closed type open when electrified and closed when not. While not electrified, a nozzle pressure of an inkjet head becomes a meniscus breakage pressure or less.

  • Patent number: 9327525
Abstract: When the user operates a paper feed button 9c while the access cover 11 is open (steps ST1, ST2), the printer 1 moves the printhead 12 from the printhead-down position 12D to the printhead-up position 12U, and moves the second paper feed roller pair 31 from the nip state to the nip-release state (step ST3). When the access cover 11 is then closed, the printer 1 returns the second conveyance roller pair 31 to the nip state, and returns the printhead 12 to the printhead-down position 12D (steps ST4, ST5). The operation for changing the second conveyance roller pair 31 between the nip state and the nip-release state is therefore intuitive, easily understood, and simple for the user.
