Abstract: A payment processing apparatus and a system or a method are provided that have a location-agnostic payment code, where the user does not have to check in to the merchant's location. Further, the reliance on the network connection is reduced by caching or storing payment codes at the user's mobile device. The payment codes may have expiration and may be used once. The payment codes may be revoked or canceled if the user's mobile device is compromised or stolen. In an embodiment, the payment codes may be generated and provided to the user's mobile device when the payment application at the user's mobile device is refreshed. For example, the payment application is refreshed based on user's payment history or payment habits. In another embodiment, the payment codes may be generated and provided to the user's mobile device when the user is within a predetermined distance from a merchant.

Abstract: A decryption module is enabled on one or more authorized devices. A user's financial account information is encrypted using a card verification number, or some secret known to the user and replicated onto the authorized devices. The user requests processing of a financial transaction using the previously-encrypted financial account information. The authorized device retrieves the encrypted financial account information and prompts the user to enter the card verification number (or other secret known to the user that was used to encrypt the financial account information). The decryption module decrypts the financial account information using the card verification number entered by the user, and the decrypted financial account information resembles a valid credit card or debit card number and will pass a Luhn test. The decrypted financial account information is transmitted to process the financial transaction initiated by the user.

Abstract: This application discloses a method implemented at a server to facilitate secure offline transactions. The server receives, from a client device, an authorization request that includes a user identifier, first financial account information and a secure code. The server authenticates the authorization request, and sends a first transaction approval to the client device. Then, in accordance with the information received in the authorization request, the server facilitates a secure transaction between the client device and a point-of-sale (POS) machine while the client device is offline. Specifically, the server receives, from the POS machine, a transaction request that includes at least the user identifier and the security code. The server retrieves the first financial account information from a memory according to the user identifier and the security code, performs a transaction operation associated with the first financial account information, and sends a second transaction approval to the POS machine.

Abstract: A stored value card management system and method secures against the fraudulent use of stored value cards. A secure redemption code is generated comprising multiple component parts including a look-up identifier and a secure code. The secure redemption code is printed on a face of a stored value card without any visible demarcation of the component parts. The look-up identifier allows access to stored value card records and a determination of the stored value card's activation status. A hash of the secure code is stored in a separate secure index and validation of the secure hash is required to complete redemption of the stored value card. Access privileges to the card index and secure hash index are distinct and possession of one component of the secure redemption code is not sufficient to redeem the stored value card.

Abstract: An account management system receives a payment authorization request from a merchant system for a transaction involving a user. The account management system identifies one or more user accounts associated with the transaction and processes the transaction after sending a payment authorization request to the issuer(s) of the user's financial account(s) and receiving an approval. After receiving a payment request, or shortly thereafter, the user device logs additional transaction data to transmit to the account management system, which uses the data to find a single transaction that correlates with financial transaction data. The account management system creates an enhanced receipt to transmit to the user device by augmenting the financial transaction data and may adjust the merchant information based on location data received from the user device or the payment amount based on an identified merchant type. The account management system updates the enhanced receipt if new information is received.

Abstract: In an approach for determining printability of an electronic file, a computer electronically receives a file for printing. The computer parses the file for one or more of text, images, and formatting indicative of potential copyrighted material. The computer, in response to identifying any text, images, or formatting indicative of potential copyrighted material, identifies potential copyrighted material within the file. The computer determines whether the file may be printed based, at least in part, on the identified potential copyrighted material. In another approach for determining printability of an electronic document, a computer electronically receives a document for printing. The computer locates attributes associated with the document and stored in a separate database, which includes one or more of the following: ownership, licensing information, printability, and number of prints allowed. The computer determines the document is printable based on the attributes and prints the document.

Abstract: In embodiments of informative bounce rate, keywords can be obtained from content of a Web page, and source content is extracted from a referring source that includes a selectable link to the Web page. The keywords that are obtained from content of the Web page are identified as also occurring in the source content of the referring source. A sentiment that is associated with each keyword can be determined, and a correspondence between the sentiment associated with a respective keyword and a bounce rate that is associated with the Web page is generated. The Web page can be identified as needing a redesign based on a high bounce rate and a corresponding overall positive source sentiment, which indicates visitors having a positive sentiment when visiting the Web page, yet a high number of the visitors bouncing from the Web page.

Abstract: A content consumption monitor (CCM) identifies events from a domain, a number of the events, content associated with the events, and a relevancy of the content to a topic. The CCM may generate a consumption score for the domain and topic based on the number of events and the relevancy of the content to the topic. The CCM may identify domain surges for the topic when the consumption score reaches a threshold. The CCM may adjust the consumption score based on the changes in the relevancy, number of events and/or the number of users over different time periods. The consumption scores not only identify companies interested in different topics but also identifies consumption surges that indicate when the companies are most receptive to direct contacts regarding those topics.
