Abstract: In a method, system, detection apparatus and computer program for recognizing a collision of a golf club with a golf ball, the recognition procedure is configured to be executed partly in a motion sensor of a detection device, partly in the processor unit of the detection device and a mobile information processing device. The most complex processing and computation steps are executed in the processor unit of the mobile information processing device. Due to the shared computations the algorithm is accurate and configurable yet the power consumption of the detection device is low at the same time which provides for a long operating time. A method for improving recognition accuracy further may include a procedure of personalizing the configuration of the algorithm.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are various embodiments of an exercise apparatus. In certain embodiments, an exercise apparatus comprises a frame and a seat assembly, the seat assembly comprising a seat, the seat configured to move between a first position and a second position, wherein the first position accommodates use of the exercise apparatus by a user sitting on the seat and wherein the second position accommodates use of the exercise apparatus by a user sitting in a wheelchair. The seat assembly may be pivotably coupled to the frame. The seat assembly may comprise a stop configured to inhibit movement of the seat, and may further comprise a biasing element that is biased to disengage the stop.

Abstract: A snowboard boot and binding system is disclosed which facilitates the engagement and disengagement of a snowboard boot and binding. The snowboard boot may include a boot engagement member extending from a rear of the boot. The boot engagement member is moved downwardly into a corresponding binding engagement member to provide an arrangement which prevents forward movement of the boot. The boot engagement member also may include one or more serrations to engage with one or more pawls on the binding to prevent upward movement of the boot. A snap-in arrangement may be provided in a boot toe region. The boot has protrusions extending outwardly from each side of the boot to engage with catches on the binding sidewalls. As the boot is pressed downwardly into the binding, the protrusions splay the catches until reaching recesses, at which point the catches rebound to capture the protrusions against upward movement.

Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for carrying a user including a board for supporting the user, a ground-contacting member coupled with the board, a motorized drive assembly coupled with the ground-contacting member and one or more sensors coupled with the drive assembly. In operation, the drive assembly adjusts the velocity of the ground-contacting member based on one or more distances of the board from a surface below the board as detected by the sensors. As a result, the system is able to maintain a desired velocity when ascending, descending or traversing uneven ground without the need for excessive and sometimes impossible tilting of the board.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a gaming system projecting volumetric images onto a physical scene that includes a background and props positioned in front of the background. A gaming engine causes a projector to project an image onto the physical scene. A pointer device receives triggering commands from an operator. A camera captures an image of a portion of the physical scene being targeted by the pointer device. The captured portion includes lighting points emitted by the physical scene, the captured lighting points forming a specific pattern. A targeting system uses the specific pattern as a reference to identify a three-dimensional position of a target located within the captured portion and causes the gaming engine to modify a visible feature of the target when a when a triggering command is received at the pointer device. A method of projecting volumetric images onto the physical scene is also disclosed.

An activation signal is propagated in the system from a module to the modules connected to it. Abstract: A very low pressure and entirely mechanical sea water desalination means is disclosed, which may be built and operated at a fraction of the current costs for the desalination of sea water. The said means can also be used to purify polluted or otherwise impure water. Arrays of the means are scalable from a very small facility up to the largest facility which may be possibly constructed and operated. The operation of the means relies on the presence of sunlight and ambient heat, and therefore will be very inexpensive to operate in desert and tropical regions of the world; and slightly more expensive to operate in cooler regions of the world, yet still substantially less expensive than the existing systems. The entire purpose of the invention is to reduce the cost of potable water made from sea water or other polluted sources to a level which is comparable to or less than the cost of such water received from traditional local fresh-water sources.

Substantial duplication of the average mobile phase density (e.g., within about 10%, 5%, 2.5%, 1%, 0.5%, 0.1 %, 0.05%) results in chromatography for both system and/or column configurations having similar selectivity and retention factors. The average pressure profile may be used as a close approximation to duplicate average density profiles between separations.
