Therefore, using wide film cultivation obtains relatively high yield if other planting conditions are the same.

Abstract: A watermelon cultivar, designated watermelon line CA9, is disclosed. The invention relates to the seeds of watermelon line CA9, to the plants of watermelon line CA9 and to methods for producing a watermelon plant by crossing the watermelon line CA9 with itself or another watermelon cultivar. The invention further relates to methods for producing triploid, seedless watermelon fruit using watermelon line CA9 as a parent of the pollenizer plant. This invention also relates to watermelon cultivars or breeding cultivars and plant parts derived from watermelon line CA9, to methods for producing other watermelon cultivars, lines or plant parts derived from watermelon line CA9 and to the watermelon plants, varieties, and their parts derived from the use of those methods. The invention further relates to hybrid watermelon seeds, plants, and plant parts produced by crossing watermelon line CA9 with another watermelon cultivar.

Abstract: A pet litter box cleaning system including a base structure, sieve member, and trash receptacle is provided. The base structure includes a bottom wall and side wall(s) which extend upward from the base wall except in one portion to leave an open side for receiving the sieve member therethrough. The sieve member includes a back wall for extending across the open side, a sifter and handle. The trash receptacle extends from an upraised wall of the base structure. In use, the sieve member is inserted in the base structure and litter filled on top thereof. The litter is cleaned of waste by lifting the sieve member by the handle whereby clean litter passes through the sifter and waste collects on the sifter which can then be disposed of directly into the trash receptacle. Afterward, the empty sieve member is placed back into position in the base structure for further use.

Abstract: The System for Continuous Observation of Rodents in Home-cage Environment (SCORHE) was developed to quantify activity levels and behavior patterns for mice housed within a home cage that, optional, may be disposed in a commercial ventilated cage rack. The SCORHE home-cage in-rack design provides daytime and night-time monitoring with the stability and consistency of the home-cage environment. The dual-video camera custom hardware design makes efficient use of space, does not require home-cage modification, and is animal facility user-friendly. In various embodiments, a software application integrates the two video streams to extract several mouse activity measures.
