Abstract: A hair curler comprises a handle, a roller and a heating part. One end of the roller is fixedly connected to the handle and the heating part is electrically connected to the power source. The hair curler comprises a heat insulation unit which is fixedly disposed on the other end of the roller away from the handle and closes the other end of the roller; an extending part is disposed on the other end of the roller; the heat insulation unit comprises a heat insulation part, an end cap and a fixing member, the end cap is cap joint to the other end of the roller, the heat insulation part is adapted inside the extending part and located between the end cap and the heating part, and the fixing member fixes the end cap with respect to the roller; and the heat insulation part is made of heat insulation materials.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for cutting hair that incorporates the shape of the head to determine the angles at which the hair will be cut for a given hair style. The angle at which the hair is cut depends on the shape of the head where the cut is made as well as the angle at which the hair falls at the cut. The shape of the head changes according to location, and therefore the angle at which the hair is cut changes accordingly. Other factors also taken into consideration by the present invention include the natural fall of the hair, the density of the hair, and the guide lengths and the perimeter lines of the haircut style.

Abstract: A hair dye applicator operable to assist a user in the application of hair dye to the hair on a human head. The hair dye applicator includes a body that has a handle portion and a brush assembly. The brush assembly includes a lower portion that has alternating rows of rigid comb bristles and brushes. The brush assembly further includes and upper portion having a hair dye assembly with an upper section and a lower section. The upper section and lower section of the hair dye assembly are operably coupled and form an interior volume configured to store hair dye therein. The upper section is movable with respect to the lower section wherein the downward vertical movement of the upper section facilitates the evacuation of hair dye from the interior volume. A piston coupled to the upper section is operable to move hair dye through a plurality of apertures.

Abstract: A hair-root applicator (10) of the present invention includes: a comb-teeth part (13) in which a plurality of comb teeth (12) are erected from a surface of a comb-teeth base (14); and a container (11) for containing a hair dye as a coating agent. This hair-root applicator is an applicator capable of applying, to hair-root sections of the hair, the hair dye supplied from the container (11) to the comb teeth (12). Each comb tooth (12) includes a comb-tooth body part (15) having a function of combing the hair, and a tip-end elastically deformable part (16) that is provided contiguously to the tip end of the comb-tooth body part (15) and that is made of a soft resin. A liquid introduction path (17) for the coating agent is provided inside the comb-tooth body part (15). A discharge port (17a) of the liquid introduction path (17) is opened so as to be arranged in the vicinity of the tip-end elastically deformable part (16).

Abstract: Systems and methods for measuring spectra and other optical characteristics such as colors, translucence, gloss, and other characteristics of objects and materials such as skin. Instruments and methods for measuring spectra and other optical characteristics of skin or other translucent or opaque objects utilize an abridged spectrophotometer and improved calibration/normalization methods. Improved linearization methods also are provided, as are improved classifier-based algorithms. User control is provided via a graphical user interface. Product or product formulations to match the measured skin or other object or to transform the skin or other object are provided to lighten, darken, make more uniform and the like.

Abstract: A backpack and frame are disclosed. The backpack frame is designed to be at least partially internal and is of unitary construction, most advantageously of a resin-impregnated material, such as resin-impregnated carbon fiber sheets with selective reinforcement by interstitial layers. The frame has a mid-back portion that includes openings for independently positionable shoulder straps and a lower back portion that provides for a rotatable connection to a belt assembly. A pair of curved stay portions is contiguous with the mid-back portion of the frame and curves outwardly as the stay portions extend downwardly. The frame is preferably curved to match the curvature of the human back. The backpack frame is lightweight and by use of composite materials can provide strength as well as selective flexibility to suspend the load of the backpack and decouple it from the movements of the wearer.

Abstract: A survival pad that contains a variety of survival tools, but can, in itself, be used for a variety of survival implements. Survival items are imbedded in an insulating pad that is designed to slide into a daypack, backpack or vehicle survival kit. The invention is designed for everyday field use as well as unplanned emergencies. The pad can store items such as a rescue marker, light, whistle, pill pack, tape, flint, can opener, fire brick, compass, survey tape, candies, poncho lighter, sunscreen and/or a mirror. The pad can be used as a waterproof field “note pad”. It can also be used to build fires, fan fires, and collect food. The pad can be easily converted to a sun/rain hat or used as a body insulator, seat, or fishing float, or emergency signal, or as an emergency splint, or hiker knee brace or large game foot snare.

Abstract: An arcuate head broom apparatus for sweeping debris across a surface while collecting debris being moved in a trapping area. The arcuate head broom apparatus comprises a broomstick, defined as a conventional elongated broom handle having a distal end, connected at the distal end to a broom head assembly. The broom head assembly defines an arcuate assembly base and a plurality of bristles extending downward therefrom. The arcuate assembly base has an inward curved section with squared ends. Because of the curved orientation of the arcuate assembly base, the bristles are collectively oriented in an arcuate shape that creates an inner trapping area. In addition, the squared ends provide a flat end surface that allows the arcuate head broom apparatus to be used in corners and against straight walls.

The tooth cleaning elements include cleaning elements that define a radial array arrangement for better retention of the dentifrice. Abstract: A toothbrush holder enclosure is provided which includes a three parts: a back plate, a resilient clamp and a front cover. The back plate and front cover form a housing. The clamp part has an inverted “U” shape and is made of a resilient material giving it a springy property. The clamp is shaped to urge two clamp arms towards one another in order for the clamp to grip a toothbrush. Two rollers at the tips of the clamp arms engage a toothbrush head inserted in the clamp as the clamp is spread apart from the clamped position to a deviated state. With the toothbrush inserted, the rollers exert pressure on a neck of the toothbrush to hold the toothbrush fast in place. The rolling engagement action of the rollers permits gripping toothbrushes having heads fitted with rubber sides.

Abstract: An adjustable shelving assembly includes at least two support rails, at least one geared rack provided in each of the at least two support rails, and an actuating mechanism placed adjacent to the at least one geared rack. The actuating mechanism is configured to support at least one shelf and facilitates movement of the at least one shelf along the at least two support rails. The actuating mechanism includes a pinion mating with the at least one geared rack, a plurality of permanent magnets mounted coaxially inside the pinion, ferromagnetic disks provided on either ends of the pinion, and a shaft placed axially in the pinion, connecting the permanent magnets. The permanent magnets magnetize or demagnetize the ferromagnetic disks when the shaft is rotated for locking or unlocking the at least one shelf.

Abstract: Stands, devices, systems and methods for supporting umbrellas in vertical orientations and different levels with raised ridges and sidewalls for allowing outdoor footwear to dry. The stands can include two tier levels, each with raised sidewalls and posts for allowing a top tier to be supported over a bottom tier. The tiers can have parallel raised ridges for allowing drying and airflow under wet outer footwear placed on each tier. Male members and female sockets on the trays can be attached to hollow posts in order to attach the trays to one another. At least one opening in the top tier can allow for a wet umbrella to be stored. The trays can prevent water, rain, melted snow, dirt and mud from getting on the floor while holding the umbrellas and outer footwear in an organized manner.

The plurality of telescoping legs is selectively attached to the lowest ring when in use as a cocktail table or a dining table.

Abstract: A self-closing slide rail assembly with a deceleration mechanism includes first and second rails and a self-closing mechanism, in addition to the deceleration mechanism. The self-closing mechanism is mounted to the first rail and includes an elastic member for providing an elastic force in a first direction. The deceleration mechanism includes a deceleration spring for providing an elastic force in an opposite second direction. When the second rail is displaced from an extended position toward a retracted position relative to the first rail, the self-closing mechanism automatically drives the second rail toward the retracted position due to the elastic force applied by the elastic member. Meanwhile, the elastic force of the deceleration spring serves as a deceleration force, allowing the second rail to move slowly to the retracted position.

Abstract: A bracket which attaches to a pilaster is disclosed. The bracket itself is useful for holding shelves in a cabinet. The bracket is most useful when more than two are combined in conjunction with a rail or similar track and used to support a drawer or movable shelf. A dowel or peg on the bracket is inserted into a hole on a pilaster and the bracket rests against the pilaster, held in place by gravity and friction. A drawer rail or similar structure may connect two or more brackets so that a drawer or shelf is supported by the rail. The design of the brackets reduces the time and effort associated with placing such brackets and supports in cabinets and other structures.

Abstract: A tilt mechanism (10) for a chair comprises a base (11), a back bracket (12) configured to support a chair back (4) and a coupling arrangement (16, 25) configured to couple the back bracket (12) to the base (11). The coupling arrangement comprises a guide track (25) and a guide member (16). One of the guide track (25) and the guide member (16) is provided on a portion of the back bracket (12) extending from a back attaching portion (23) to a pivot coupling portion (24) at which the back bracket (12) may be articulated to a chair seat (3). The other one of the guide track (25) and the guide member (16) is provided on the base (11). When the coupling arrangement (16, 25) couples the back bracket (12) to the base (11), pivoting the back bracket (12) about the pivot coupling portion (24) causes the guide member (16) and the guide track (25) to be displaced relative to each other, effecting a displacement of the pivot coupling portion (24) relative to the base (11).

Abstract: A chair riser assembly supports a chair in an elevated position relative to a primary support surface for providing the chair user with a slightly raised seat elevation for aiding the chair user in rising from the riser-supported chair. The chair riser assembly includes a series of corner post assemblies each of which have a lower post end for engaging the primary support surface. Two width adjustment assemblies adjustably interconnect paired, laterally spaced the post assemblies for enabling the user to adjust the lateral width of the riser assembly for accommodating variously sized chairs. Laterally opposed chair support assemblies interconnect forward portions of the chair riser assembly to rearward portions of the chair riser assembly. Each chair support assembly includes a chair support portion in superior adjacency to the lower post ends for supporting lower portions of the chair in superior adjacency to the primary support surface.

Abstract: A floating pool lounge is disclosed. The floating pool lounge has a head end and a foot end, and includes an opening between the head end and the foot end. The opening extends through the thickness of the lounge and is sized to admit a human head. The pool lounge may also include handles disposed on respective sides, and a head and cervical support disposed around the opening toward the foot end. In some embodiments, particularly where the pool lounge is not rigid enough to resist movement, it may carry a series of connected channels or pockets, and substantially rigid frame members may be connected within the channels or pockets to rigidify the structure.

The array of pocket springs comprises fully active springs (10) respectively enclosed in an associated pocket (35) of fabric. Each fully active spring (10) respectively has a central spiral portion (20) with at least one turn and defining a spring axis (13), an unknotted first end turn (21) defining a first end of the fully active spring (10), and an unknotted second end turn (22) defining an opposing second end of the fully active spring (10). Each fully active spring (10) has a rest shape in which the first end turn (21) and the second end turn (22) have a finite pitch angle, so that the first end turn (21) and the second end turn (22) contribute to a spring force of the fully active spring (10).

Abstract: An insect-repelling bed pad to be located between the mattress and a box spring of a bed or laid upon the ground inside and out of doors for use by individuals and pets during sleep. The bed pad is manufactured from a porous or loosely-woven material (e.g., burlap) and includes a plurality of chambers. The chambers contain a natural (i.e., green) insect-repelling substance (e.g., cedar wood chips and/or dust) having a scent that is adapted to drive away insects without the use of chemicals. The scent and/or the dust is blown from the chambers of the bed pad to repel insects which may reside between the box spring and the mattress or around the bed site when a compressive force is applied by a user to the bed pad to correspondingly squeeze the chambers.

Abstract: A fixing mount for fixing an elastic strip includes a body and multiple assembling seats. Abstract: A child holding accessory can be desirably installed on a rigid support frame, and has two opposite regions adapted to receive a child in different configurations of use. Examples of construction for these holding regions can include, without limitation, a changing table and a child sleep bed. The child holding accessory can be attached with the support frame via one or more fixtures that is adjustable to turn upward either of the first and second regions for use.

Abstract: The invention consists of an infant carrier/harness that incorporates sound speakers on the interior portion of the carrier, where the baby places his or her back; additionally, there is a “halo” speaker that is incorporated into a Head Cover of the carrier which completes the overall sound experience; it also serves to block out light. The speakers connect to a sound/white noise apparatus—or can connect to a mobile phone, or other portable device to produce sound, creating an ambient and constant “shush” sound. The object of the sound and cover is to re-create a womb-like experience. The infant carrier harness will also have the ability to plug in a mobile device to play other sounds and or music.

Abstract: A shelving system for the display of items, such as retail products and merchandise, is disclosed. The shelving system includes a first sheet that forms a bottom layer. This first sheet rests on top of an existing display shelf. A second sheet is placed over the first sheet. The second sheet forms a top layer, and supports the products on the shelf. At least one inductive transmission coil is located between the first and second sheets. The coil is located along the front edge of the display shelf. A circuit board is electrically coupled to the transmission coil, and to a power source. The shelving display system provides a retrofit solution to provide power to the front edge of an existing display shelf. In an alternate embodiment, a ramp is used at the front of the existing display shelf to replace the first and second sheets.

The support structure defines a shaped channel, and an insert component of the system is receivable within the channel and has an exterior surface shaped to correspond to the shaped channel. The shaped channel can define one or multiple grooves, and the insert component can have one or multiple ribs that cooperate with the grooves to stabilize the insert component/support structure combination. The insert component can include at least one displaceable rib element for cooperating with a groove of the support structure.

Abstract: A shelving system attachable to a shelf to provide one or more storage areas on the shelf. The shelving system includes a shelf assembly configured for attachment to the shelf and one or more divider walls configured for attachment to both the shelf assembly and the shelf. Each of the divider walls is separated a distance from another of the divider walls to provide a storage area therebetween on the shelf. A variety of differently sized divider walls can be used with the shelving system.

Abstract: The subject invention comprises a collapsible display fixture that includes a base, two vertical support posts that can accept vertical display panels, a horizontal crossbar and hinge that connects each vertical support post to the base. The hinge may be one of two forms, either a hinge with an axis of rotation at an angle of 2-6 degrees, or preferably 3 degrees, or a hinge with a rotatable base that allows the hinge to be rotated 2-6 degrees, or preferably 3 degrees. These hinges allow the vertical support posts to be folded down without intersecting or contacting one another. The vertical display panels integrate an internal pin system, whether the panel is solid or a combination of two laminated layers, such that the pins are accessible from the outside to accept hangers, pins, pegs, hooks or other display accessories.

A food container, having weight sensors and food identification sensors, identifies weight, type, and preparation status of the food item being consumed by the user from the food container. Based on the identified information, the nutritional value of the food item is determined and observed. The food container in communication with the system components may provide the user a recommended meal plan to improve the user's health condition. In addition, the food container issues an alert to the user when the user puts too much, too less, or the right amount of food items in the food container or eats the food items too fast.

Abstract: A device, system and method for dispensing fluid from a device usable for personal hydration in one embodiment. The system relates generally to a hand-held fluid dispensing module, a control module coupled to the hand-held fluid dispensing module, a fluid container located in close proximity to the hand-held fluid dispensing module and the control module, and a cooling module coupled to the control module. The hand-held device being configured to control and determine the amount of fluid dispensed from the device. The method relates to using the system and dispensing fluid from the hand-held fluid dispensing module by either applying pressure to an exterior portion of the hand-held dispensing module or providing a vacuum to the hand-held fluid dispensing module. In various embodiments, the hydration system is configured to control the amount of fluid dispense to a user and preventing leakage from the device after a drinking event.

Abstract: A beverage container closure or lid adapted for closing an open end of a beverage container. The lid is couplable to the beverage container and includes a selectively openable stopper that when closed, creates a fluid-tight seal between the beverage container and the environment. The stopper may be opened by pressing a button disposed on a side of the beverage container closure. The stopper is subsequently automatically closed when the button is released. Thus, the user may open and close the beverage container closure using a single hand without the need to remove the beverage container closure from the beverage container. The beverage container closure includes an actuating lever configured to press the button when a user applies a force to the lever. By utilizing the mechanical advantage provided by the lever, a user is able to selectively open and close the stopper using a relatively low amount of force.

The locking mechanism in the parcel bag is one-way, thereby, once locked; even the package delivery person will not be able to access the package. The secure storage system neither damages nor requires any permanent alterations to the property structures at or near the front-door. It is portable and can be carried along during one's travel.

Abstract: A lighted inflatable display including a body made of flexible fabric that is semipermeable to the passage of air through the fabric, at least one divider panel that partitions an interior space within the body into a plurality of chambers, a pressurized air source configured to discharge pressurized air into the body, and a plurality of cooperatively controlled decorative lights disposed inside each chamber, wherein the at least one divider panel reduces light transmission between chambers and includes an aperture permitting passage of pressurized air and an electrical power cord sequentially from a base portion of the inflatable display to each of the chambers.

Abstract: A method and device for creating a beverage recipe for an integrated beverage blending system includes a dispenser and at least one blending/mixing/cleaning module. The method creates the beverage recipe with recipe program running on a computer interactively with a user making recipe entry parameters for the dispensing, blending and mixing operations. The recipe can be stored on a portable memory and inserted into a user interface controller of the integrated system or into an associated point of sale device.
