Abstract: Systems and methods remove and manage heavy metals. In one implementation, an exemplary method can be applied to food processing and food consumption to remove heavy metals such as mercury, lead, uranium and cadmium before absorption by a living organism. The exemplary method exposes the food to a heavy-metal binding ligand, such as a concentrated protein or phytic acid, to form a heavy-metal chelate, and then allows the chelate to separate from the food. In another implementation, an exemplary probe possesses innovative molecular layers on its surface to detect and quantify heavy metals by attracting and binding traces of the heavy metals on a ligand layer.

  • Patent number: 9408375
Abstract: A double-headed five-sided fishing net uses a pair of net heads to enclose a fish from two opposing sides and uses a lateral net to enclose a fish from three additional sides. The lateral net is connected in between the pair of net heads on three sides so that the front side is an opening that can be used to capture fish. A tong assembly allows a user to press the pair of net heads against each other, which puts the fishing net into a closed position. In addition, the tong assembly continuously applies a force by a torsion spring to separate the pair of net heads from each other, which puts the fishing net into an open position. In order to counter the continuous force from the torsion spring, the fishing net has a locking mechanism to hold the tong assembly in the closed position.

The water-soluble granule formulation of 2,4-D salt has an outstanding control efficiency on annual or perennial Poaceae weeds and some broadleaf weeds in fields of soybean and other Fabaceae plants, for example, such weeds as amaranth, knotweed, lamb's-quarters night shade, siberian cocklebur, barnyard grass, foxtail grass, digitaria sanguinalis, broomcorn millet and the like. The formulation is environment-friendly, and has the advantages of being free of organic solvents and dusts and being easy to measure in comparison to conventional emulsifiable formulation, wettable powder formulation and suspension formulation. The present invention also discloses the preparation method of the formulation. The production process is simple, economical and safe.
