Abstract: An apparatus and method for rehabilitating a lower leg muscle provides therapy for the lower leg muscle by simultaneously stretching the lower leg muscle and soaking the lower leg muscle in a therapeutic solution. This dual action therapy results in treatment of calf strains and/or Achilles tendon tears and the like. The apparatus includes a lower leg stretching component and a therapeutic soaking component. A synergy is created between the two components that addresses different anatomical considerations for the lower leg. Both the stretching and soaking components are performed inside a container. The stretching component includes a plate on which the foot rests. The plate pivots on a fulcrum. A strap passes around the plate and is pulled at the front end to stretch the lower leg muscle. The leg muscle provides resistance to the pulling action. A therapeutic solution fills the container, such that the stretching and soaking are performed simultaneously.

The device is configured to partially suspend a portion of a user's weight via a seat-lifting system, facilitating the movement of a user with experiencing difficulty walking without assistance. The system of the device preferably employs a seat, a hydraulic or electric seat-lift mechanism, a seat restraint, a frame, wheels, a brake system, and a power source. The seat-lift mechanism is configured to rise and lower the seat, enabling the user to control the percentage of weight lifted, while the feet of the user remain in partial contact with the floor. The frame forms the structure and support of the device, and is configured to move laterally via wheels on the bottom of the frame of the device.

Abstract: A massage device which allows a user to easily and effectively self-administer a neck and/or shoulder massage. The device includes a first crossbar, a first leg assembly, and a second leg assembly. The first crossbar acts as the engagement element. The first leg assembly and the second leg assembly each include a handle, a support bar, and a rocker runner. The handle is collinearly and adjacently connected to the support bar. The rocker runner is adjacently connected to the support bar, opposite the handle, and allows for a rocking motion. The support bar positions and holds the first crossbar and acts as the load-bearing element. The support bar of the first leg assembly is adjacently and perpendicularly connected to the first crossbar. The support bar of the second leg assembly is adjacently and perpendicularly connected to the first crossbar, opposite the support bar of the first leg assembly.

Abstract: The herein disclosed technology provides a roller therapy device including a ball and a dual-component casing with components that mate together on opposite sides of the ball to rotatably secure the ball. In one implementation, the dual-component casing includes a cap portion with a cavity sized and shaped to receive the ball and an annular portion that can be selectably attached to and detached from a mouth of the cavity after the ball is positioned in the cavity. When connected in such manner, the ball protrudes through and aperture in the annular portion and is freely rotatable relative to the dual-component casing.

Abstract: Systems and related methods for delivering a vibratory stimulus to a pinna of a subject with a stimulator worn on the pinna are described. A mechanical stimulation device may be used to deliver a vibratory stimulus that modulates activity of sensory nerve fiber innervating the pinna. In some cases, stimulation is delivered in response to a physiological signal, and/or in response to sensed environmental parameters. Stimulation may be delivered in combination with other stimuli or experiences. In an aspect, a stimulator communicates with and/or is controlled by a personal computing device. In some aspects recommendations regarding neural stimuli and other stimuli or experiences to be delivered in association with the neural stimuli are provided via a computing system in communication with the personal computing device or the wearable stimulation device.
