  • Patent number: 9474213
Abstract: A bale ejecting mechanism includes a shuttle shiftable toward and away from the open end in repetitive ejection and retraction strokes. The shuttle has a series of projections yieldably biased to an extended position projecting into the bale case for engaging and moving a bale during an ejection stroke of the shuttle. The projections are shiftable into a retracted position disposed outside of the bale case to avoid engaging and moving a bale during an ejection stroke. The mechanism includes a selector member movable with the shuttle during ejection and retraction strokes of the shuttle but shiftable relative to the shuttle to any one of a number of selectable retaining positions in which the selector member retains selected ones of the projections in the retracted position. An adjustable shifter member is disposable in a plurality of selectable operating positions corresponding to the selectable retaining positions of the selector member.

  • Patent number: 9474249
Abstract: A recirculating pet fountain with an upper drinking bowl in water flow recirculation with a lower drinking bowl that includes a step upon which an animal, e.g., cat, can perch while drinking. The upper bowl is suspended above the lower bowl by an arm that provides a graspable handle and conduit through which water is conveyed by a pump upwardly to the upper bowl where the water flows downwardly back into the lower bowl. The fountain preferably includes a water-conveying bridge along which water from the upper bowl flows downwardly toward the lower bowl. The bridge can be an open concave channel along which water drinkable by the perched animal downwardly flows. The lower bowl can have a tubular overflow extending upwardly from water in the lower bowl from which water received from the upper bowl, including via the bridge, overflows into the lower bowl during recirculating fountain operation.

Abstract: A garment to reduce an animal's anxiety, fearfulness, overexcitement, or a combination thereof. The garment may include a central portion and first, second, and third flaps. The first and second flaps extend from opposite sides of the central portion and the third flap extends from a central, inner surface area of the central portion. The inner surface is configured to be proximate to the animal's body. The flaps are configured to extend around the animal's mid-body such that the central portion and flaps form a shape conforming to the outside of the animal's mid-body. The third flap may be between the central portion, the second flap, or a combination thereof and the animal's body. The garment may apply pressure to the animal adequate to reduce anxiety, fearfulness, overexcitement, or a combination thereof in the animal.

  • Patent number: 9474254
Abstract: A spermatogonial stem cell line that is derived from testes of rats characterized by a desirable genetic background can serve as a source for cells to transplant into male-sterile recipient animals that are immuno-compatible with the spermatogonial line. Rat cells thus transplanted readily develop into fertilization-competent, haploid male gametes, with little or no endogenous sperm competition generated by the testes of the male-sterile recipient. This approach, constituting the first vector system for the use of rat spermatogonial lines from in vitro culture in generating mutant rats on a desired genetic background, effects maximal germline transmission of donor haplotypes from the transplanted spermatogonial cells.

  • Patent number: 9474257
Abstract: An imitation crawdad artificial fishing lure has a jointed hard body with a weighted hard abdomen articulated to a buoyant hard cephalothorax. A pair of soft pincers are interchangeably connected to the cephalothorax, which pincers can be swapped with others for changing pincer styles. A single one fishhook is interchangeably connected to the cephalothorax, which fishhook can be swapped with others for changing between heavier and lighter gauge fishhooks, or for sharper fresh fishhooks. Preferably the cephalothorax has simulated hard pincer stalks for alternatively holding the soft pincers in a swimming position or else flaring the pincers out into a guard position. Soft walking legs might be interchangeably connected to the cephalothorax as well.

Abstract: A bowfishing reel system that can use a standard reel or a normally biased open reel each having a lever that when actuated forces the bail into the open state. A mechanical coupling, such as a string is connected between the lever of the reel and the bow cable or bow string. When the bow is drawn, the mechanical couple causes the lever to be actuated and thus forcing the reel into the open state. As such, when a user goes to shoot an arrow at a target, as soon as the bow is drawn the bail is opened thus preventing back lash and injury.
