Abstract: A charge sensing circuit generates a voltage in a sensing period that is indicative of sensed charge. The generated voltages are accumulated by an accumulator circuit over a number of sensing periods. A noise detection circuit senses when the voltage generated by the charge sensing circuit is outside of a boundary and generates a detection signal in response thereto. A control circuit, in response to the detection signal, controls the accumulator circuit to block accumulation of the voltages generated by the charge sensing circuit during at least the sensing period in which the detection signal is generated. An analog-to-digital converter circuit then converts an accumulated output voltage from the accumulator circuit to a digital value at the end of an accumulation time period that includes the sensing periods. The end of the accumulation time period is delayed by at least one sensing period in response to the detection signal.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, an input device includes the following elements. The flexible touch panel includes a sensor area. The touch position detector detects a touch position on the sensor area to generate a detection signal. The deformation position detector detects a deformation position where a deformation amount is not less than a threshold on the sensor area. The input rejection area determination unit determines, based on the deformation position, an input rejection area. The input signal generator fails to output the detection signal as an input signal if the touch position is detected in the input rejection area, and outputs the detection signal as an input signal if the touch position is detected in an area other than the input rejection area.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a position detection module configured to detect a touch position on a display surface of a display module touched by a user; a position data output module configured to output first position data and second position data based on position data on the touch positions detected by the position detection module; and a display control module configured to control the display module based on the first position data or the second position data output from the position data output module. The first position data is position data obtained by averaging position data on the touch positions respectively detected at detection timings. The second position data is position data on the touch position detected at individual detection timing. The display control module selects the first position data or the second position data to control the display module, based on a predetermined selection condition.

Abstract: A method of calibrating a force sensor that includes an input surface and an array of sensing elements. The input has a number of test locations and is deformable under applied force. The force sensor is mounted in a predetermined test orientation. For each test location of the plurality of test locations on the input surface of the force sensor a predetermined test force to the test location. An element calibration value is measured for each sensing element of the array of sensing elements of the force sensor. An (x, y) deformation map of the input surface of the force sensor corresponding to the application of the predetermined test force to the test location is determined based on the measured element calibration values.
