Abstract: The field of this invention is classifying animal behaviors. In particular the fields of this invention include using animals in vivariums, such as rodents, particularly mice. Animal behaviors are classified according to behaviors consistent with healthy or unhealthy organs or locations within organs, such as the brain. Injected neoplastic cells may be used to create an unhealthy organ or location within an organ. Classifications also include responses to different therapies. The behavior of the animals is observed using fully automatic, continuous monitoring using per-cage sensors, where behavior recording is free of human, manual actions. Observed behavior is consistent with healthy or unhealthy behaviors specific to the injection site. Both positive and negative baseline behaviors are collected, typically using the same system or method. Classification is responsive to differences between treated and untreated animals, comparing to both the positive and negative baselines, using multi-dimensional analysis.

Abstract: Improvements in a retractable Snap-On Leash is disclosed. The Snap-on Leash is always on the collar and can be used on nearly any collar that is available in the market place. This further allows the retractable snap-on leash to be removed and placed on a different collar when as the animal grows and when the collar wears out or is damaged. The owner simply needs to locate the handle to extend the leash. A lanyard retainer, stop or lock can be incorporated to limit the extension length less than the length of the leash spooled in the housing. The retracting mechanism allows the leash to be retracted automatically at the end of a walk or as the dog changes distance from the owner. The handle conforms to the shape of the housing to minimize a surface that can catch on anything that the dog might encounter.

Abstract: A scalable pet ecosystem includes modules that are activated by an activity collar of a pet. The modules collect data, such as feeding, resting, and other biological functions. The data may be uploaded to a central server for reporting to an owner's computing device. An app on the computing device may be used to link multiple pets via the activity collars to multiple modules. Modules of the system may include a feeding bowl, a pet bed, an activity collar, and a litter box, and a water dish. A pet recognition device on the activity collar may identify a pet within the system. A profile may logically link the pet recognition device to one or more of the system modules. Collected data may be stored in a repository that is accessible to owners, veterinarians, and marketers via a phone app or server connection. The data may be analyzed to identify trends, to provide marketing and industry data, and to provide advice to owners.

Abstract: A segmented fish pump system is provided. The segmented fish pump system includes a series of booster pump segments stacked upon an intake pump segment, forming an enclosed stream throughout, wherein each booster pump segment induces further upward flow, thereby minimizing the pressure and velocity needed for the intake pump of the intake pump segment. As a result, lessening trauma to fragile aquatic life at collection and further providing a nautical environment within the enclosed stream for the aquatic life to be transported as well as self-propelled to higher elevations.

Abstract: A flexible fishing lure is provided that includes a outer shape having a transverse opening for receiving a plurality of alternatively formed lure fin members allowing a user to change the action of a lure by fin selection without replacing the lure. Multiple internal channels within the lure are adaptively provided for receiving a variety of scent sticks, sound generators, light generators, flavor generating means. Flow internal channels extend from a front opening to gill openings allowing a water flow along an inserted scent or flavor stick member to pass through the lure body and exit proximate fin, nair, belly, or other locations simulating an injured or wounded fish leaking bodily fluids or blood. Other features to simulate wounded features. Replacement fins and weighting constructions allow a user to tailor a weight and action enabling a circling or injured motion during retrieval.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a device and method of use for measuring fish. More specifically, the present invention generally relates to a device and method of use for measuring fish individually. Said device allowing for the measurement of the fish with only the device touching the fish during the measurement. That is, the fish does not need to come in direct contact with an individual to perform the length measurement of the fish, which prevents over handling of the fish and possible loss of the fish due to the fish sliding away. In an embodiment, the device is comprised of a cylindrical tube body element having a bottom closed portion with measurement indicia located along the length of the tube. In embodiments, the device is further comprised of openings, which allow fluids to drain from the device. In other embodiments, the openings are positioned on the bottom of the device or the capped end portion. In embodiments, the device is made of a transparent or translucent material.
