Abstract: A cosmetic gel sheet suitable for a cosmetic field or a medical field is provided. The cosmetic gel sheet of the present invention contains carboxy group-containing water-soluble polymer, polyalcohol, and acid as essential constituent components. Carboxy group-containing polysaccharide can be suitably used as the carboxy group-containing water-soluble polymer. Water content in the gel sheet is 30% by weight, but it is more preferable if the water content is 10% by weight or less. In the cosmetic gel sheet of the present invention, the gel sheet can be manufactured by drying an aqueous solution containing carboxy group-containing water-soluble polymer, polyalcohol, and acid as essential components. Wherein, it is desirable that content of the acid in the aqueous solution is adjusted to a value appropriate for setting pH of the aqueous solution to 2.0-4.0.

Abstract: Multi-polymer compositions for the transdermal delivery of drugs, such as amine-functional drugs, in a flexible, finite form are described. The compositions comprise a polymer matrix that includes a drug or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a polymer matrix comprising acrylic polymer(s), polyisobutylene polymer(s) and styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer(s). Methods of manufacturing and methods of using the compositions also are described.

Abstract: An abuse deterrent and Misuse deterrent transdermal patch comprising aversive agents incorporated in the backing layer of the patch. The aversive agents can exhibit biphasic or sustained kinetics of release with an immediate portion released rapidly and an extended portion released in a prolonged manner when exposed to a dissolution medium. The prolonged aversive agent release provides deterrence against extraction of drug from fresh and used patches and serves to prevent accidental misuse of used patches by children. The abuse deterrent and misuse deterrent patch systems can be used for transdermal delivery of therapeutically active agents and particularly those drugs that are highly prone to abuse such as opiate and opioid analgesics and stimulants.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of cannabidiol (CBD) in the treatment of focal seizures. In one embodiment the patients suffering from focal seizures are children and young adults. CBD appears particularly effective in reducing focal seizures in patients suffering with etiologies that include: Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome; Tuberous Sclerosis Complex; Dravet Syndrome; CDKL5; Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (NCL); febrile infection related epilepsy syndrome (FIRES); Aicardi syndrome and brain abnormalities in comparison to other seizure types. Significantly CBD additionally is very effective in the reduction of a sub-type of focal seizures, focal seizures with impairment.

Abstract: Methods, compositions, and devices to limit, modulate, insulate, and/or otherwise alter the effects of exogenous physical stimuli on cells are described herein. The cells may be removed from the body, preferably isolated, and treated ex vivo with the composition to limit the effects of physical stimuli on the cells and then returned to the patient. Alternatively, the cells may be treated in vivo. The compositions can be administered a variety of manners, such as systemically, locally or regionally.
