  • Patent number: 9573498
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to protective padding for golf carts, and more specifically, the invention relates to a protective padded sleeve that comprises a sleeve, a fastener and padding, which is placed over and around the hard plastic hip restraint of a golf cart to prevent a rider from being injured. When a rider sits on the bench-style seat of a golf cart, the rider's hip and leg are in contact with this hip restraint. The invention operates by both absorbing the shock with padding placed between a rider and the hard plastic hip restraint of a golf cart, as well as, completely enclosing the hip restraint to prevent obstacles from protruding through the large opening in the hip restraint and causing injury to the rider. This invention further incorporates an auxiliary power source for wireless devices, a wireless speaker and accessory holders.

  • Patent number: 9573503
Abstract: A seat pad includes a main portion and a bank portion. When the seat pad is disposed on a seat frame, a reverse face side of the bank portion contacts the seat frame to be supported. When the bank portion is pressed in a seat width direction, the bank portion is flexurally deformed so as to be crushed around a contact portion contacting the seat frame. A contact member is relatively movably provided on a side of the backing material that faces the seat frame, and the seat pad is disposed on the seat frame while the contact member is pressed against the seat frame. When the bank portion is pressed in the seat width direction, the backing material and the seat pad including the bank portion move in a crushing direction relatively to a portion of the contact member that contacts the seat frame.

  • Patent number: 9573504
Abstract: [Problem] To provide a cushion pad that reduces the bottom-hitting feeling. [Solution] In a support portion, the ratio of the hardness of a bottom surface layer including the bottom surface to the hardness of a seating layer including the seating surface is set to 1.0 to 1.1. The hardness of the seating layer is set to be identical to the hardness of the bottom surface layer or slightly smaller than the hardness of the bottom surface layer. This allows reducing the increase in reactive force by the bottom surface layer while supporting the load of the seated person by the bottom surface layer. This allows reducing the bottom-hitting feeling.

Abstract: Arrangements related to the operation of an autonomous vehicle are described. The autonomous vehicle includes a vehicle seat. It can be determined whether a future planned driving maneuver of the autonomous vehicle includes a change in a current motion of the autonomous vehicle. Responsive to determining that the future planned driving maneuver includes a change in the current motion of the autonomous vehicle, the vehicle seat can be caused to provide a haptic indication of the future planned driving maneuver prior to implementing the future planned driving maneuver. In this way, a vehicle seat occupant can be alerted to the future planned driving maneuver. The haptic indication can include a movement of the vehicle seat. In one or more arrangements, the movement of the vehicle seat can correspond to a sensation that a vehicle seat occupant will experience during at least a portion of the future planned driving maneuver.

  • Patent number: 9573523
Abstract: Embodiments provided herein describe a feedback system that alters the distribution of a sound in a vehicle from a default configuration indicating to the driver that his action is dangerous or inefficient. The feedback system monitors one or more forces or accelerations such as speeding up, slowing down, changing the vehicle's direction, etc. Moreover, the feedback system may have one or more thresholds associated with these accelerations. If the measured acceleration satisfies the threshold, the feedback system alters the distribution of sound to inform the driver that his driving decisions may be dangerous or inefficient (e.g., causing excessive wear and tear on the vehicle). Furthermore, the change in the sound distribution may mimic the effect of the force or acceleration on the driver or vehicle to provide a more subtle or intuitive sonification relative to outputting a distinct audio alert.

  • Patent number: 9573540
Abstract: On-vehicle electrical loads (121,122) are connected to an on-vehicle battery (101) via a series circuit including a load switching element (221,222) and a reverse current interrupting element (200a) for a load circuit, and a feeding switching element (120A) that is closed in response to closure of a power supply switch (110). The element (FET) (200a) is closed when the switch (110) is closed and a power supply voltage is applied to a load power supply terminal (Vba) connected to the element (120A), to thereby be energized in an energization direction of an internal parasitic diode thereof. The element (200a) is de-energized when the switch (110) is opened. Thus, malfunction is prevented, which occurs when the element (120A) is opened, a short-to-power flows backward via the element (200a) into the terminal (Vba) so as to feed power to another device connected to the element (200a).
