Abstract: Endothelial cells can become susceptible to disease when subjected to disturbed (atheroprone) blood flow patterns, which naturally occur in known locations in human arteries. Atheroprone flow is non-laminar, with low fluid shear stress magnitude and an oscillatory pattern representative in the temporal signature. At a macro-scale, atheroprone flow is multidirectional and chaotic. On the other hand, atheroprotective flow is laminar with high fluid shear stresses that have a specific temporal signature. Therefore, understanding the interplay between the atheroprotective and atheroprone hemodynamics and endothelial function is important. The invention relates, in some embodiments, to microfluidic devices and methods that dynamically apply controlled and physiologically relevant spatio-temporal atheroprone and atheroprotective flow signatures.

In such machines, when hammer heads are worn out, the entire hammer strike iron must always be replaced, insofar as a uniform quality is to be achieved in the comminuted material. Abstract: A device for structuring the surface of a metal pressed sheet or of an endless strip, comprising a support device adapted to support the metal pressed sheet or endless strip during structuring, and a spray head and a slideway adapted to permit movement of the spray head into a desired position within a plane defined by an X and a Y coordinate. The spray head is further adapted to move in a Z direction with reference to a work surface which is spanned by the X and Y direction, and the spray head is guided by means of a digitalized template that is identical to the printed image of an impregnated paper used in a further pressing process. Independent drive elements are connected to a control unit and configured to move the spray head into the desired position.

Abstract: A spray dispenser is configured to generate a swirled output spray pattern 152 with improved rotating or angular velocity ? and smaller sprayed droplet size. Cup-shaped nozzle member 60 has a cylindrical side wall 62 surrounding a central longitudinal axis 64 and has a circular closed end wall 68 with at least one exit aperture 74 passing through the end wall. At least one enhanced swirl inducing mist generating structure is formed in an inner surface 70 of the end wall, and including a pair of opposed inwardly tapered offset power nozzle channels 80, 82 terminating in an interaction chamber 84 surrounding the exit aperture 74. The power nozzle channels generate opposing offset flows which are aimed to very efficiently generate a vortex of fluid which projects distally from the exit aperture as a swirled spray of small droplets 152 having a rapid angular velocity.

Abstract: The disclosure is related to a blowing apparatus with expandable functions, an expansion device, and an operating method. The blowing apparatus has an electrical interface used to connect one of the expansion devices with various functions. The blowing apparatus has a control unit used to identify an operating mode of the expansion device connected with the blowing apparatus. A control signal is therefore generated. According to the control signal, the control unit controls rotating speed of a fan unit and a heating temperature of a heating unit. The expansion device can be disposed with a mist unit having a container and a mist generating unit. The mist unit sprays the mist to an outlet cap of the expansion device. The blowing apparatus then blows the mist out of the outlet cap by means of the rotating speed of fan unit and the temperature of heating unit.
