  • Patent number: 9593019
Abstract: Certain example embodiments relate to methods for large area graphene precipitation onto glass, and associated articles/devices. For example, coated articles including graphene-inclusive films on substrates, and/or methods of making the same, are provided. A metal-inclusive catalyst layer (e.g., of or including Ni and/or the like) is disposed on the substrate. The substrate with the catalyst layer thereon is exposed to a precursor gas and a strain-inducing gas at a temperature of no more than 350-600 degrees C. for 10s or 100s of minutes. Graphene is formed and/or allowed to form both over and contacting the catalyst layer, and between the substrate and the catalyst layer, in making the coated article. The catalyst layer, together with graphene formed thereon, is removed, e.g., through excessive strain introduced into the catalyst layer as associated with the graphene formation. Products including such articles, and/or methods of making the same, also are contemplated.

Abstract: This invention relates to methods of preparing positive electrode materials for electrochemical cells and batteries. It relates, in particular, to a method for fabricating lithium-metal-oxide electrode materials for lithium cells and batteries. The method comprises contacting a hydrogen-lithium-manganese-oxide material with one or more metal ions, preferably in an acidic solution, to insert the one or more metal ions into the hydrogen-lithium-manganese-oxide material; heat-treating the resulting product to form a powdered metal oxide composition; and forming an electrode from the powdered metal oxide composition.

  • Patent number: 9593025
Abstract: The wastewater evaporator provides for effluent evaporation in a septic system to eliminate need for a drain field. The evaporator tank contains a plurality of evaporator trays in a vertical array. Solids settle in the septic tank, and liquid effluent flows from the septic tank to the evaporator tank and cascades sequentially from the uppermost to the lowermost tray. The multiple trays increase the surface area of liquid contained therein, thereby greatly enhancing evaporation. An above-surface air pump and vent may be provided for air flow through the evaporator tank. An ultrasonic generator may be installed in each tray to increase the surface area of the effluent to enhance evaporation. An additional intermediate pump tank may be provided between the septic tank and the evaporator tank to control effluent flow and delivery to the evaporator tank. A sump pump in the pump tank periodically delivers effluent to the evaporator tank.

Abstract: A system and method for providing mobile or temporary water treatment involving ion exchange resins includes a service center, one or more treatment vehicles, a resin transfer hub and one or more resin transport vehicles. The service center can be used to regenerate one or more types of ion exchange resins. The treatment vehicle carries water treatment equipment including a tank holding ion exchange resin. The resin transfer hub facilitates moving resin between a treatment vehicle and a resin transport vehicle. The resin transport vehicle is adapted for carrying resin by one or more of land, sea and air between the resin forwarding center and the service center. In operation, a treatment vehicle brings resin requiring regeneration to the resin transfer hub, where it is emptied and then re-filled with regenerated resin. Resin requiring regeneration is transferred to a resin transport vehicle for transport to the service center.
