Abstract: A screen for intake of fluid. The screen includes parallel and spaced rods, filtration material, a fitting, and structural members. The rods may be distributed in a cylindrical configuration. The filtration material, which can be spirally wrapped wire, is disposed around the rods to define an interior volume. The fitting is disposed at an end of the rods and adjacent to the filtration material. Each structural member, which can be elongated bars, is interposed between adjacent rods. The structural members are welded to the adjacent rods, and the adjacent rods and the structural members are welded to the fitting to increase the effective weld area, the tensile strength of the connection, and potentially the overall strength of the screen. The screen may be used for a variety of fluids and installations, and is particularly suited to use in water wells.

Abstract: No-filter no-run filtration systems are described. The filtration systems include a valve positioned within a filter housing. The valve is normally biased in a closed position when a filter cartridge is not inserted into the filter housing such that from within the filter housing cannot flow to an internal combustion engine. The filter cartridge includes a main filter element and a hydrophobic screen assembly. The hydrophobic screen assembly includes a valve interaction pin that interacts with and opens the valve when the hydrophobic screen assembly is received in the filter housing in an operating position. Accordingly, fuel can only flow from the filter housing to the fuel injectors when the hydrophobic screen is received within the housing in an operating position. The hydrophobic screen is a separate component from the main filter element allowing for independent replacement of the main filter element and the hydrophobic screen.

Abstract: Biomass (e.g., plant biomass, animal biomass, and municipal waste biomass) is processed to produce useful intermediates and products, such as energy, fuels, foods or materials. For example, systems and methods are described that can be used to treat feedstock materials, such as cellulosic and/or lignocellulosic materials, while cooling equipment and the biomass to prevent overheating and possible distortion and/or degradation. The biomass is conveyed by a conveyor, which conveys the biomass under an electron beam from an electron beam accelerator. The conveyor can be cooled with cooling fluid. The conveyor can also vibrate to facilitate exposure to the electron beam. The conveyor can be configured as a trough that can be optionally cooled.

Abstract: Disclosed are a catalyst composition containing a phosphorous-based ligand and a hydroformylation process using the same. More specifically, disclosed are a catalyst composition containing a monodentate phosphite ligand, a monodentate phosphine ligand and a transition metal catalyst, wherein the total content of the entire ligand including the monodentate phosphite ligand and the monodentate phosphine ligand is 1 to 33 moles, based on 1 mole of the transition metal catalyst, and a hydroformylation method using the same. The present invention has an effect of providing a catalyst composition which reduces an N/I (ratio of normal to iso) selectivity of aldehydes produced by hydroformylation of an olefin-based compound and exhibits superior catalytic activity and stability, and a hydroformylation method of an olefin-based compound using the catalyst composition.
