The shoulder has a shoulder surface height of between 0 and 10 mm, and a stepback distance of between 0 and 2 mm between the shoulder surface and the arcuate tooth surface. The shoulder and the arcuate tooth surface define an angle therebetween of 90° and 135°, and the shoulder surface defines an angle between 90° and 135°.

Abstract: A sluice including an upper channel that includes a material deck and a tilted classification screen. Below the classification screen is a lower cavity located between two longitudinally aligned plenums located under the upper channel. Each plenum includes a front opening and a rear opening and an interior sidewall. Extending between the plenums is a floor plate. Fluidization holes are formed on each interior sidewall. During use, the sluice is positioned in a stream so water flows simultaneously over the upper channel and the through the front openings of the plenums. Water flowing over the upper channel separates mined material placed on the material deck so that small particles fall through the classification screen. The water entering the front openings of the two plenums flows through the plenums and partially exits through the fluidization holes and sprays over the small particles deposited in the lower cavity further separating the fine gold particles from the small particles.

Abstract: An apparatus for separating solid materials is described, which comprises a channel for receiving a liquid and the materials to be separated, the channel being provided with an agitation surface. Means for directing streams of fluid at the materials to be separated are provided, the streams of fluid urging the materials over and against the agitation surface to separate the materials. Heavier material is urged along the bottom of the channel to an exit under the action of the streams of fluid, and lighter material separated from the heavier material rises to the surface of the liquid. The agitation surface comprises a plurality of formations each extending across at least a portion of the width of the channel, each formation comprising an ascending surface and a descending surface, at least part of the ascending surface having a steeper slope with respect to the base of the channel than the descending surface.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for recovering metal constituents from a waste stream containing metals (e.g., incinerator ash) are described. The waste stream may include incinerator bottom ash, fly ash, or a combination thereof. A falling velocity separator is employed in combination with a centrifuge to separate and collect metals from the waste stream. The falling velocity separator uses a liquid to separate particles within incinerator ash according to the particles settling velocities. The centrifuge further separates particles from the incinerator ash according to density of the particles.

Abstract: A dust collection device can be fitted to windows in a room, thus not only cleaning air while ventilating air within a space targeted for cleaning but also cleaning air outside of the space. A dust collection device is constructed by laminating first insulation type electrodes and second insulation type electrodes alternately via spacers. The insulation type electrodes have a configuration in which both sides of first electrodes (second electrodes) are coated by first insulating layers (second insulating layers). Furthermore, a power supply is connected to the electrodes, and the electrodes are grounded. In addition, a plurality of first through holes (second through holes) is provided in rows in the insulation type electrodes. Furthermore, the positions of the through holes in the insulation type electrodes are arranged in a plane view so as to be a prescribed distance from the positions of the through holes in the insulation type electrodes.

Abstract: The main objective of the invention was to develop a new flotation collector that could eliminate or reduce the amount of copper sulfate used in the flotation of sphalerite. Different series of collectors such as cupferrons, arylhydroxamic acids and amino mercaptans or amino thiols were synthesized and tested. Amino mercaptans/aminothiols were found to be very effective in floating sphalerite from a lead-zinc ore using only 10-15% of copper sulfate used with conventional xanthate collector. The present invention does not require any alteration in the current mill practices. This warrants only changing the flotation collector in zinc flotation stage from, for example, potassium amyl xanthate (PAX) to the new collector.
