Abstract: A light emitting element driving device includes a first and second driving circuits, an abnormality detecting portion, a bypass path, and a switching portion. The first driving circuit can supply power to a light emitting element in a first mode, and is disabled to supply power in a mode other than the first mode. The second driving circuit can supply power to a light emitting element in a second mode. The abnormality detecting portion detects an abnormality of the light emitting element normally connected to the second driving circuit at least in the second mode. The bypass path connects the first driving circuit to the second driving circuit. The switching portion, is disposed in the bypass path so as to make the bypass path into a conductive state when an abnormality is detected, and to make the bypass path into a cutoff state when an abnormality is not detected.

Abstract: A first photosensor is sensitive to the wavelength of excitation light, insensitive to the wavelength of fluorescent light, and receives a portion of the output light to generate a first current corresponding to the amount of light received. A second photosensor is sensitive to the fluorescent light wavelength, insensitive to excitation light wavelength, and receives a portion of the output light to generate a second current corresponding to the received light amount. A first current/voltage conversion circuit outputs a first detection voltage corresponding to the voltage drop across a first resistor. A second current/voltage conversion circuit outputs a second detection voltage corresponding to the voltage drop across a second resistor. If (i) a relation between the magnitudes of the first detection voltage and the second detection voltage has reversed, or (ii) if the first detection voltage deviates from a normal voltage range, a judgment unit asserts an abnormality detection signal.

Abstract: The present invention provides a start control system of a vehicle, including: an electronic control unit (ECU), a starter, an air conditioner, and a starting power supply. The starting power supply includes a starting battery and a battery management system (BMS). At a low-temperature environment, when receiving an ignition request signal sent by the ECU, the BMS detects the temperature of the starting battery. When the temperature is less than a preset threshold, the starting battery is connected to the air conditioner for a preset time, so that the starting battery effectively raises the temperature of the starting battery by means of discharging at a high current temporarily. The start control system of a vehicle improves an ignition capability of a vehicle in a low-temperature environment, extends a temperature range and an area of using the vehicle, and improves competitiveness of the vehicle. The present invention further provides a vehicle having the start control system of a vehicle.

Abstract: Shock absorbing seatbelt height adjusters for use with vehicle occupant restraint systems, and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a shock absorbing height adjuster includes a D-loop assembly slidably coupled to a rail, and a stop assembly and a pre-loader slidably coupled to the rail on opposite sides of the D-loop assembly. The stop assembly and the pre-loader can be releasably lockable at a plurality of positions along the rail. A biasing member can be compressed between the pre-loader and the D-loop assembly to urge the D-loop assembly toward the stop assembly and allow motion of the D-loop assembly toward the pre-loader under load. The position of the pre-loader can be adjusted to vary the compression in the biasing member.

Abstract: Various antilock braking systems, devices, and methods using sensorized brake pads are disclosed. In some embodiments, the present disclosure provides a method for improving the performance of an antilock braking (ABS) and anti-slip regulation (ASR) system of a vehicle. The method can include detecting the actual value of the coefficient of friction (e.g., between a tire and the ground), updating the coefficient of friction during braking using the braking torque data derived from at least one braking pad of each wheel, and adjusting brake force. For example, the brake force can be adjusted as a function of and/or to be approximately equal to the value of the actual tire-road friction during braking.
