Abstract: Provided is an order terminal for inputting a customer's order that operates in any one of a staff mode of being operated by an employee and a customer mode of being operated by a customer as an input mode. When the employee inputs initial information on the customer in the staff mode, the input mode of the order terminal is switched over from the staff mode to the customer mode to allow the customer to input an order.

Abstract: A method for providing registrationless payment card security for a payment network that includes maintaining a list of anonymous mobile telephone numbers, which correspond to personal payment card account numbers (PAN). When a card-present authorization for a listed PAN is received, the payment network requests the geolocation of the cell phone of the card holder in real time from the mobile network operator. The mobile network operator determines the geolocation of the cell phone and transmits it to the payment network. The payment network compares the geolocation of the cell phone with the geolocation of the merchant to confirm that the card holder is present at the location of the transaction.

Abstract: Disclosed are method and apparatus that enable a cardless payment transaction to be executed from a merchant point-of-sale (POS) system. A user is enabled to check in at a merchant by using a mobile device of the user and then to pay by simply appearing at the merchant and mentioning his name. By emulating card read events and intercepting receipt printer outputs, the technique cleanly integrates into a conventional merchant POS system, without the need for customized software or hardware to accommodate individual POS vendor-proprietary application programming interfaces (APIs).

Abstract: In an information processing device (settlement terminal device), a first main body that accommodates a first information processing unit in a first housing including a first input display unit (first touch panel), and a second main body that includes a second housing from which a seat unit for detachably attaching the first main body extends, and accommodates a secure second information processing unit which includes a second input display unit (second touch panel) disposed in the second housing to be on the same plane as that of the first input display unit of the first main body attached to the seat unit, and which has tamper resistance, are provided. In the information processing device, the first input display unit and the second input display unit are preferably arranged on the same plane. A secure portion can secure physically high tamper-resistance performance and the high robustness of the entire device.

Abstract: A point-of-sale self-checkout terminal includes a code reader device for automated entry of a product identification code present on items for purchase and a customer input device for receipt of data from a customer. A customer can initiate a purchase of a non-scannable item and, in response, a database is queried to identify items based on a prediction of purchase of the items, and the identified items are displayed for selection by the customer to purchase the item. Image processing and voice processing, can also be implemented to assist customers with the purchase of non-scannable items.

Abstract: A system and method to use quick response (QR) codes encoded with merchant website identification codes and session GUID to register a user or code scanner with a merchant server, login the user or code scanner with the merchant server, and complete a purchase of an item or service within a virtual shopping cart of the merchant server. A code scanner can scan a QR code displayed on a device connected to the internet. An application server can receive an identification code from the code scanner and then transmit data indicating form fields to be filled in on a merchant webpage. A user profile can include data regarding the user and a payment instrument. The user profile data can prepopulate the form fields and the form field data can be transmitted to the merchant server to use for logging in the user and completing the purchase.

Abstract: A payment card reader connected to an audio port of a mobile computing device may include a card interface, the card interface configured to read data from a payment card; a TRRS connector to couple the payment card reader with the mobile computing device; and an audio interface circuit coupled with the TRRS connector. The audio interface circuit may include a communication circuit configured to transmit data to and receive data from the mobile computing device via the TRRS connector and an energy harvesting circuit configured to receive an audio signal via the TRRS connector, to harvest energy from the audio signal, and to provide energy to other components of the card reader.

Abstract: A system and method for straight through payment processing when the merchant is known but the merchant's payment card acquirer is unknown. Payment instructions from a payee to the merchant are normalized for a target acquirer system which is selected either at random, based on business logic and data, or based on successful past straight through payments. Payments are attempted for each acquirer successively until a successful payment notification is received. The link to the merchant and acquirer is then saved for subsequent straight through payments to that merchant.

Abstract: A method for authorizing a digital wallet transaction initiated by a consumer from a merchant web site or app includes providing an acceptance mark on a merchant landing page associated with the merchant web site or app for initiating the digital wallet transaction, the acceptance mark comprising a link to a host server accessing an acceptance network for authorizing payment, the acceptance network comprising a plurality of digital wallets. A wallet selector switch allows selection of a wallet, the transaction is routed to the selected wallet, a payment card and shipping address are selected and the transaction is redirected back to the merchant with purchase details for authorizing and completing the digital wallet transaction. The wallets can include federated and non-federated cobranded wallets and partner-hosted wallets. Direct provisioning with partner credentials and automatic update of consumer details is provided in a federated cobranded wallet.

Abstract: Electronic transaction data sets are processed for a multitude of disparate transactions using a plurality of autonomous payment networks. A software-programmed computer circuit receives and processes electronic transaction data to identify a seller using information provided in the transaction data, and uses the identification to access seller profile information for selecting one of a plurality of networks. In this context, a seller can be identified using one of a plurality of identification approaches (e.g., different account IDs), and such identification can be used for retrieving and using electronic profile data to select a payment network for the seller, which may be completely independent from the identification. Payment data is accordingly configured so that the selected network can receive and process the data, such as by configuring the data into a network-specific format and/or communicating the data using network-specific protocols.

Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to securely receiving data input at a computing device without storing the data locally. The invention allows an application, such as a mobile app, to receive payment information (e.g. credit card information) directly from a user without requiring the application to comply with the PA DSS or another standard. The application can employ any type of user interface for receiving user input as well as one or more overlaid input fields that receive sensitive payment information. The overlaid input fields can be part of a web page or other interface that can securely submit data to a remote computer system (e.g. a server) where it can be stored, processed, or transmitted in accordance with the PCI DSS. In this way, the sensitive payment information (or another type of information) is not stored, processed, or transmitted by the application on the local device.

Abstract: Embodiment of the invention describe methods and systems for verifying customer supplied financial account information verification using debit and credit transactions. These methods include electronically transmitting an electronic debit and credit transaction to the customer financial account, based on the customer supplied financial account information. The method also includes electronically transmitting a first statement descriptor, as part of at least one of the electronic debit transaction and the electronic credit transaction, that includes a first verification code. The method also includes electronically receiving, from the customer, a second verification code, and comparing, by the computer system, the transmitted first verification code with the received second verification code with respect to each other. The method also includes verifying, by the computer system, the customer supplied financial account information based on the comparison of the verification codes.

Abstract: Systems and methods for intelligently authenticating payment transactions are disclosed. A user initiates a payment transaction to purchases goods or services from a merchant. The merchant sends a payment initiation request to a server computer in communication with a payment processing network and an issuer. The server computer queries various databases to determine one or more available communication channels that may be used as authentication channels by the issuer. The server computer also determines one or more communication channels, available for use by a mobile device of the user, that may be used as authentication channels to authenticate the payment transaction. The user is provided with a list of available/eligible authentication channels. User selects one of the authentication channels and the issuer is notified of the selection. The issuer uses the selected authentication channel to communicate with the user and authenticate the payment transaction.

Abstract: A program product and device for processing transactions within a token transfer device, such as a smartphone or other portable electronic device. The method includes storing a transaction token having a specified transaction resource value and an associated validation parameter in the memory of the token transfer device. A transaction communication interface initiates a transaction service with a token recipient terminal and invokes a token state manager. The token state manager determines an event corresponding to the specified validation parameter by determining a transaction resource network connect activity status and by determining condition register data associated with the validation parameter. The token state manager then issues a transaction modification call based on the determined event and the validation parameter.

Abstract: Using cryptographic techniques, sensitive data is protected against disclosure in the event of a compromise of a content delivery network (CDN) edge infrastructure. These techniques obviate storage and/or transfer of such sensitive data, even with respect to payment transactions that are being authorized or otherwise enabled from CDN edge servers.

Abstract: Methods, computer program products, and systems for processing customer authentication for an order. A merchant device displays a name of a customer and an image of the customer who submitted a selection of items to purchase from a merchant operating the merchant device. The merchant device can obtain the name and image from a server before or after the merchant device received a list of the selected items. The merchant device can display the name and image. Display of the name and image may or may not be triggered by a notification that the customer device is at the merchant device. The merchant device receives an input from the merchant indicating that a customer who claims the name matches the image. The merchant device approves purchase of the selected items by the customer. The merchant device then submits a total price of the selected items to a server for processing.

Abstract: A method and system for analyzing customer feedback is provided. The method includes accessing a keyword and word mapping database and receiving consumer feedback data associated with a product or service. The consumer feedback data includes feedback data groups. Each group is divided into segments based on word analysis. Each segment is analyzed with respect to the keyword and thesaurus database. A score is generated for each segment and a composite score is generated for each feedback data group. Each composite score is stored.

Abstract: A method for tracking procedures performed on personal protection equipment (PPE) and actions of individuals includes the following steps. An article of PPE configured with a smart tag is provided to an individual prior to performance of a task. After the individual performs the task, the article of PPE is processed. Information is retrieved from the smart tag during at least one of: before, during and after processing the article of PPE. After the performance of the task, the individual's data is read and the individual enters into a designated area.

Abstract: A system that is capable of receiving and interpreting a user's spoken commands is also coupled to a television interface device that controls video programming content displayed the user's television. The user can speak commands to cause certain programs to be played, and to control various functions of the television. The system can track and analyze a user's video viewing habits. In addition, the system is able to determine which of multiple users might be interested in a particular video program, and the system can play marketing messages regarding that video program to those users that might be interested in viewing the video program.

Each entity that sells data in the virtual marketplace first converts data into a “signal” or indicator that represents the data without disclosing it or providing it. Signal sellers determine if they want share signals based upon buyer, price, and other rules, including limitations on signal use; signal buyers determine signal value based upon their objectives.

A first set of advisor information may be consolidated at least partially based on the input and on the credential information. Abstract: When there are no customers in a store, a laser is scanned along an aisle between product shelving units installed in the store, and if that laser is reflected midway in the optical path, it is determined that there is an object in the sensing range according to the laser. The determination result is then notified to a user by a site that corresponds to the position where the laser has been reflected being marked in a layout image that represents the product shelving units, displayed on a terminal device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for determining the vertical alignment of an infrastructure corridor having a certain horizontal alignment involve using a processor to model the cost of constructing the infrastructure corridor as a function of cost variables that vary with the vertical alignment of the infrastructure corridor. The processor looks up the cost variables at vertical offsets corresponding to certain vertical alignments of the infrastructure corridor and determines the cost of constructing the length of road at elevations located between pairs of the vertical offsets by interpolating from the cost variables at the vertical offsets; the interpolation may be linear. The processor determines, subject to infrastructure corridor design constraints, the vertical alignment of the infrastructure corridor from the cost of constructing the infrastructure corridor at the vertical offsets.

Abstract: In accordance with some implementations, a method for enabling clickless purchasing is disclosed. The method is performed on a server system having one or more processors and memory storing one or more programs for execution by the one or more processors. The server system detects commercial intent from a user of the computer system. In response to detecting commercial intent, the server system determines a product relevant to the detected commercial intent of a user. The server system sends a recommendation message to the user, wherein the recommendation message includes an option to purchase the product. The server system then receives a response message from the user, the message including authorization from the user to purchase the recommended product. The server system then purchases the recommended product on behalf of the user and delivers the purchased product to the user.

Abstract: A system and method for providing options for scheduling ads is provided. In example embodiments, a list of one or more ads is presented to an operator. A selection of an ad to be placed into a schedule is received. Placement analysis is performed, using a hardware processor, to identify a plurality of placement options based on placing the ad into the schedule. The placement analysis includes determining a net difference metric value for each placement option. The net difference metric value is determined based on displacement of at least one previously scheduled ad in each placement option. The plurality of placement options are sorted according to a score derived from at least one value metric to create a result. The result is presented to the operator, whereby the result includes the score derived from the at least one value metric for each placement option.

The system may enhance a message based on topics identified in past correspondence messages or topics anticipated based on an intended recipient of a correspondence message being drafted. The system can operate in combination or conjunction with a language prediction system, an optimizing language model, and a text input method. The systems and methods provide users with supplemental content at a time and in a specific situation, which allows for effective targeting of content.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for controlling content distribution includes forwarding information associated with a user to a device operated by the user, the information being configured for use in selecting content from any of multiple content providers for a content distribution to the user. The method includes receiving, in response to the information, an edit of the information forwarded from the device. The edit identifies a first content provider and including a first modification of the content distribution regarding the first content provider. The method includes storing the edit in association with the information such that the first modification is taken into account in the content distribution. The method can be implemented using a computer program product tangibly embodied in a computer-readable storage medium.

Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for enhancing accessibility of content uploaded on a media sharing site. A user may interface with a computer system to identify a unique keyword. The unique keyword is not associated with any media on the media sharing platform. The unique keyword includes a hashtag preceding the keyword. Media is uploaded to the media sharing platform. The unique keyword is entered into the title and description fields for the uploaded media, while the tag field remains empty. The user may share the unique keyword to promote the uploaded media. Likewise, the user may access the media sharing platform to generate analytics.

Abstract: The relevance of advertisements to a user's interests is improved. In one implementation, the content of a web page is analyzed to determine a list of one or more topics associated with that web page. An advertisement is considered to be relevant to that web page if it is associated with keywords belonging to the list of one or more topics. One or more of these relevant advertisements may be provided for rendering in conjunction with the web page or related web pages.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed which may allow a user having a mobile device to check in to a location using a packet sequence that includes information for identifying the location transmitted by one or more Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) beacons at or near the location. The user may be able to store packet sequences for various locations that may allow the user to automatically check into these locations using the store packet sequences.

Abstract: The presentation of advertisements to a user on a mobile communications device is disclosed. A first external input corresponding to a triggering of an advertisement delivery is received on a first input modality. An advertisement overlay is displayed in a graphical user interface in response to receiving the external input. Advertisement invocation instructions are displayed within the advertisement overlay. A second external input is received on a second input modality different from the first input modality. The second external input is translated to a set of quantified values. Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for creating personalized programs. In one implementation, a computer-implemented method is provided. According to the method, content is assembled into a personalized program. The method includes maintaining, in a storage device, transaction history information and preference information for a user. The method selects a plurality of content components based on at least one of the transaction history information and the preference information. The method then determines a sequence of the selected content components and assembles the selected content components according to the sequence as the personalized program.
