  • Patent number: 9845808
Abstract: A centrifugal pump has a number of stages, each of the stages having an impeller and a diffuser. The impellers are mounted to the pump drive shaft for rotation. A bearing in at least one of the stages includes a sleeve coupled to the drive shaft for rotation. The sleeve has upper and lower ends and an outer side wall facing radially outward that is convex and spherical. A bushing is mounted in the diffuser and has a bore with an inner side wall facing radially inward that is concave and spherical. A pair of slots is formed in the inner side wall of the bushing 180 degrees apart from each other and extending axially. The slots enable the sleeve to be inserted into the bore with the sleeve axis and bore axis perpendicular to each other, then tilted 90 degrees to coincide the sleeve axis with the bore axis.

  • Patent number: 9845809
Abstract: A sealing joint for a compressor casing, such as a compressor casing for a centrifugal compressor of a chiller, is provided. The sealing joint may be configured to have a first cover and a second cover. A first mating surface of the first cover may have an inner annular portion surrounding an inner cavity of the sealing joint, and an outer annular portion. The inner annular portion may be positioned between the inner cavity of the compressor casing and the outer annular portion. A sealant may be applied to the sealing joint, and a depth of the sealant on the inner annular portion may be deeper than a depth of the sealant on the outer annular portion. The depth of the sealant on the inner annular portion may help the sealing joint tolerate more elongation range without a sealant failure than a regular casing.

  • Patent number: 9845812
Abstract: In a method for operating a hydraulic device for providing a supply to hydraulic consumers (V) on a plastics injection moulding machine, provision is made of a pump (10) with a volumetric delivery characteristic that results in cyclic pulsations and of a servomotor (11) with multiple poles that result in cyclic pulsations. The pressure at the hydraulic consumer (V) is detected and is input as an actual value into a pressure regulator (13) that readjusts the servomotor (11), on the basis of a predefined pressure profile, to a pressure setpoint value at the hydraulic consumer (V). The cyclic pressure pulsation is minimized in that, by means of a rotational angle sensor (20), the rotational angle (?) of the pump (10) and/or of the servomotor (11) is detected and correlated with the cyclic pulsations, and in that, from this, a corrective value or a corrective function is determined and is transmitted to the pressure regulator (13) with control subordinate to the regulation of the pressure setpoint value.

  • Patent number: 9845814
Abstract: A hydraulic fluid flowpath includes a first flowpath and a second flowpath. The first flowpath connects a first pump port and a first chamber in a hydraulic cylinder. The second flowpath connects a second pump port and a second chamber in the hydraulic cylinder. The hydraulic fluid flowpath forms a closed circuit between a hydraulic pump and the hydraulic cylinder. A bleed-off flowpath bleeds off a portion of the hydraulic fluid from the second flowpath. A control valve connects the second flowpath to the bleed-off flowpath via a throttle when an operation amount of an operating member for lowering a work implement is less than a predetermined operation amount so that a hydraulic pressure in second flowpath is maintained at less than a relief pressure. The predetermined operation amount is less than or equal to the maximum operation amount for lowering the work implement.
