Abstract: A method and a device for gear cutting a work wheel includes a cutting wheel with cutting teeth, which is rotatably driven on a tool spindle about a tool spindle axis. The cutting teeth engage into the work wheel, which is rotatably driven on a workpiece spindle about a workpiece axis that intersects the tool spindle axis. In rough cuts, tooth spaces between left and right tooth flanks of teeth of the toothing are deepened via a change in axial distance of the tool spindle axis and the workpiece axis. In a first finishing cut, only the left tooth flank is precision machined with a chip removal point moving from top to base of the tooth with gear skiving movement. In a second finishing cut, only the right tooth flank is precision machined with a chip removal point moving from top to base of the tooth with gear skiving movement.

Abstract: A method for producing a toothed workpiece gear, wherein the workpiece gear is clamped or fastened to a workpiece spindle, and a cutting tool having cutting teeth is clamped or fastened to a tool spindle. The tool spindle and the workpiece spindle are rotationally driven at a coupling ratio of the angles of rotation thereof having a periodic non-linearity or an axial distance from each other that changes periodically. The cutting teeth machine forms left and right tooth flanks of the teeth of the workpiece gear using left and right cutting edges in a chip-removing manner. A radial run-out error or a pitch error of the cutting tool is determined. The flank line shape errors of the right and left tooth flank resulting from the radial run-out error or the pitch error are reduced by the periodic non-linearity of the coupling ratio or the periodic change in the axial distance.

The gas turbine engine components are plasma treated in a high vacuum environment to generally reach a surface roughness (Ra) below 150 nanometers and in some cases below 25 nanometers. Then during the same process the components are coated using either a metallic or ceramic, hard, thin coating ranging from 100 to 3000 nanometers in thickness depending on desired surface smoothness and non-fouling properties. The same treatment combined with a surface relaxation process, which is part of a smoothing process, allows applying even up to 100 micrometers of hard coating without changes to high cycle fatigue properties and overall performance. Improved surface smoothness of the components and enhanced non-adhesiveness of the contaminants advance the quality of the flow through the gas path and compressor aerodynamic noise reduction.

Abstract: By, according to the invention, designing a surface treatment tool with a grinding head (16, 17) with cylindrical rollers (18), so that the tool (16, 17, 18) is balanced by weight because the tool's centre of gravity is close to the tool's surface treatment area, the tool (18) will automatically adjust according to the surface (25) of the treated workpiece, regardless of the level of the surface. Hereby is achieved a previously unknown simple way to surface treat, be it flat and curved workpiece surfaces alike. Furthermore, the tool (16,17,18) is balanced by weight so that treatment pressure can be adjusted according to need.

Abstract: The subject invention provides a means to tie a fly pattern for a fishing method by means of the fly tying vise mechanism. In general, the invention employs technology that allows the individual to position the various parts of the vise in multiple ways to achieve virtually unlimited angular positioning of the jaws. The invention employs an offset cam that allows for an adjustable friction applied to the hook jaw mechanism that is attached to a long vertical post, mounted on a heavy pedestal, providing stability for the vise. The pedestal employs several applications for storing or attracting tools and hooks and magnetizing jaws. The offset cam can be adjusted up and down and rotate 360 degrees horizontally around the vertical post; can be rotated 360 degrees vertically to turn the cam from a horizontal to a vertical position; allows the jaws to be moved up and down, relative to the cam to accommodate different sizes hooks; and, allows the jaws to rotate 360 degrees.
