Abstract: A device for extending the zone of protection of an umbrella. The device includes a curtain that can extend from a peripheral edge of an umbrella canopy. The curtain extends away from the canopy to envelope a user of the umbrella when the umbrella is in a deployed position. The curtain is selectively movable between a deployed position and a retracted position by a plurality of cords affixed to the curtain. In the retracted position, the curtain is compressed against the peripheral edge of the canopy. The plurality of cords passes through a cord lock, wherein the cord lock can prevent further movement of the curtain. The cord lock is operably connected to a switch disposed on a handle of the umbrella.

Abstract: A cover-type containing structure is worn on a pet's body using a support enclosure with multiple functions to facilitate a user in meeting various dog-related needs. The support enclosure enables a pull cord to securely hook and fasten thereto. A rear cover has a small pet carrier bag formed by a holding portion, enabling the user to store pet paraphernalia including pet dropping supplies. A covering is unfolded to provide a pet with protection against rain and wind. If the pet is tired or the user encounters a situation that prohibits a pet on a leash from entering a location, the pet carrier bag can be unfolded and the pet placed within the pet carrier bag for shoulder carrying or hand carrying. The rear side has a plurality of rings used to externally connect to a fixing device and securely fix a pet droppings collection bag thereto.

Abstract: A luggage tracking and surveillance system uses a zipper pull attached to a conventional suitcase closure zipper and a retaining fastener attached to conventional fastening straps securing contents inside the suitcase. An observer is not aware of the specially designed zipper pull and retaining fastener because they mimic the appearance of their conventional counterparts. The external zipper pull communicates wirelessly with the retaining fastener inside the suitcase when a zipper pull touch sensor senses that the suitcase has been opened. This awakens a retainer fastener power supply and activates a recording system in the fastener to create a record of the person who opened the suitcase. The retaining fastener can also sense the presence of a human and independently activate the recording system. Recorded still pictures, video, and audio, along with location information supplied by GPS circuitry in the zipper pull and/or retaining fastener, are transmitted to a remote database.

Abstract: Because antimicrobial preservatives used in virtually all cosmetics exhibit degrees of adverse human toxicity that have become of increasing concern, a three element system is disclosed that eliminates the need for cosmetic preservatives and their degradation fragments that may exhibit toxicity. Element 1 comprises a cosmetic formulation not containing any preservative components. Element 2 is an individual unit dose of an Element 1 cosmetic formulation in a microbially-impenetrable disposable container. Element 3 comprises the sterilization of the sealed unit dose disposable container, employing heat or, preferably, employing ionizing radiation.
