Abstract: A protective helmet having multiple protective zones, including an inner shell having a first inner surface and a first outer surface, an outer shell having a second inner surface, a second outer surface, and at least one window defined by said outer shell, said outer shell functionally attached to said inner shell, an elastomeric zone between said first outer surface and said second inner surface, a plurality of sinusoidal springs positioned in said elastomeric zone, each of the plurality of sinusoidal springs including a first end, and a second end, a force indicator tab in operative contact with said second end of at least one of said plurality of sinusoidal springs, wherein said force indicator tab is displaced in said at least one window by said second end when said helmet is impacted with sufficient force, and a transmission device.

Abstract: A protective headgear, such as a hard hat, is provided that comprises a protective outer shell, which surrounds the head of a wearer and in so doing defines a space between the head of the wearer and the underside of the outer shell; a heat-absorbing member; and a forced air ventilation apparatus. In use, the heat-absorbing member is positioned within the outer shell in the space formed between the head of the wearer and the outer shell, so that the forced air ventilation apparatus can provide a flow of ambient air from outside of the outer shell over the heat-absorbing pad within the space between the head of the wearer and the underside of the outer shell, thereby creating a cooling circulation of air around the head and face of the wearer. Suitably, the heat-absorbing pad comprises a phase-change material (PCM). The headgear may also comprise temperature sensors and systems for monitoring the temperature of the wearer remotely.

Abstract: Disclosed are devices, kits and methods for an enhanced pointe shoe for ballet. In some embodiments, an enhanced pointe shoe includes light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and sensors that may activate the LEDs based on the ballet performers movements. For example, the sensor may be a pressure sensor that activates the LEDs when a ballet dancer stands en pointe. In other embodiments, a kit that includes a power source, LEDs, one or more sensors, a toggle switch and connecting wires may be used to enhance a pointe shoe. In yet other embodiments, a ballet pointe shoe cover, which for example, may be made from spandex, and that includes the power source, LEDs and sensors may be used to enhance a pointe shoe for ballet performances.

Abstract: Unitary insole/strap layers for articles of footwear and methods for making such unitary insole/strap layers are provided. The insole/strap layers are transformed from a two-dimensional patterned base into a three-dimensional insole/strap layer, which simplifies the manufacturing process. The insole/strap layer is then secured to an outsole structure to form an article of footwear, such as a flip flop or sandal.

Abstract: A cycling shoe comprises a sole defining an undersurface of the cycling shoe, the sole having connection holes configured for connection of a pedal cleat to the sole. An upper is connected to the sole and defining with the sole a foot-receiving cavity. An expansion zone is located in a lateral or medial subportion of a metatarsal portion and/or toe portion of the cycling shoe and configured to be opposite a portion of at least a fifth metatarsal of a wearer of the cycling shoe, the expansion zone being entirely surrounded by a window of structural upper panelling and defined by at least one panel having a greater stretching characteristics than the structural upper panelling of the window.

Abstract: The application provides for a vibrating foot massager that resembles a common shoe. This vibrating foot massager has a number of vibrating motors which can be placed in a variety of combinations within the sole of the shoe. Preferably, the vibrating foot massager will be equipped with a power source so the entire device will be portable. This will enable a user to enjoy the benefits of receiving a foot massage while on the go. The vibrating foot massager is also equipped with a power switch such that when the motors are not in use, the device operates as a functional shoe.

Abstract: A shoe sole composition and method for making a shoe sole are provided. The shoe sole includes a composition comprising a foamed silane-crosslinked polyolefin elastomer having a density less than 0.50 g/cm3. The shoe sole exhibits a compression set of from about 5.0% to about 20.0%, as measured according to ASTM D 395 (6 hrs @ 50° C.). The foamed silane-crosslinked polyolefin elastomer can be produced from a blend including a first polyolefin having a density less than 0.86 g/cm3, a second polyolefin, having a crystallinity less than 40%, a silane crosslinker, a grafting initiator, a condensation catalyst, and a foaming agent.

The tether element may have a variety of configurations. For example, the tether element may have a diagonal orientation, or different tether elements may have different lengths. Also, the tether element may include one of more sheets that extend across the interior cavity.

Abstract: Systems and processes for measuring and sizing a foot are provided. In one exemplary process, at least one image of a foot and a horizontal reference object from a first point of view is captured. A portion of the foot may be disposed against a vertical reference object. The at least one image may be displayed, where one or more camera guides are overlaid on the at least one displayed image. In response to aligning the one or more camera guides with one or more of the horizontal reference object and the vertical reference object, a measurement of the foot based on the at least one captured image from the first point of view is determined.

Abstract: Systems and processes for measuring and sizing a foot are provided. In one exemplary process, at least one image of a foot and a horizontal reference object from a first point of view is captured. A portion of the foot may be disposed against a vertical reference object. The at least one image may be displayed, where one or more camera guides are overlaid on the at least one displayed image. In response to aligning the one or more camera guides with one or more of the horizontal reference object and the vertical reference object, a measurement of the foot based on the at least one captured image from the first point of view is determined.

Abstract: A button cover for use in covering a button to reduce or eliminate damaging of adjacent clothing such as pants, shorts, etc. Some embodiments provide a relatively thin disk shaped cover having a resilient wire button clip extending from the back side of the disk shaped cover. The button clip provides a button mounting channel formed by two opposed resilient arms in the clip, with the two opposed arms interconnected by an intermediate section of wire secured to, or formed within, the body of the disk-shaped cover. The cross-section of the button clip from its intermediate, interconnecting section through to its opposed resilient arms can be U-shaped or otherwise shaped to orient the coplanar opposed arms with the backside of the body of the disk-shaped cover.

The female part is connected to a first garment piece and the male part is connected to a second garment piece. The fastener is an overlapping fastener of the type in which the male piece is engaged with the female piece by inserting a connector plate of a male part into an aperture of a female part at an angle and thereafter pivoting the male part relative the female part thereby snap-fitting the connector plate in place in the aperture. The female part has a socket for receiving a detent of the male part, forming a locking mechanism. Dimensioning the male part to interfere with an edge of the female when coupling creates a second locking mechanism, as the female part resiliently couples to the male.

Abstract: The present invention is formed by an energy absorber and a fastener. The energy absorber has coincidingly bounded first portion and second portion and makes the top edges of the first portion and the second portion to form a diverged shape. The fastener is locked at the diverged top edge of the energy absorber. When the user falls, it makes the fastener to release the diverged top edge of the energy absorber. Then it makes the energy absorber to pull along the diverged top edge to further sequentially tear the coincidingly bound part of the first portion and the second portion, so as to absorb the impact force of the falling. The present invention mainly uses the overall arrangement of the fastener and the energy absorber to improve on the drawbacks of high costs and long assembling hours of the processing of the prior art.
