Abstract: Methods of modifying the tobacco-specific nitrosamine content of a tobacco material are described herein. One exemplary method comprises contacting a tobacco material with a composition comprising salt, sugar, enzyme, lactic acid bacteria, yeast, or a combination thereof to reduce the total bacterial content; curing the tobacco material; and fermenting the tobacco material in the presence of one or more microorganisms. The method can provide a fermented tobacco material having a tobacco-specific nitrosamine content that is reduced relative to a fermented tobacco material that has not been subjected to the disclosed method steps. In certain embodiments, the tobacco-specific nitrosamine content of the fermented tobacco material is no more than that of the cured tobacco material. Tobacco-containing products including such treated tobacco materials are also provided.

The technical solution of the present invention solves the problem that the core assembly of the existing electronic cigarette has a high temperature in use, and improves its using stability and service life.

The characteristics the shoe and removable element mean that when the removable element is fitted, it does not extend beyond the limits of the footprint, and therefore comfort and aesthetics are not compromised when the shoes are worn. The system also has the flexibility of being able to have a wide range of standardized designs per model and size, which can then be interchanged with each other in order to increase the design options for the user.

In one aspect, the shoe encompasses an upper; a sole; and at least one shock-absorbing assembly, the shock-absorbing assembly including: a support frame connected to at least a portion of the upper or sole, and a plurality of shock-absorbing members having first and second opposed ends, the first ends of the shock-absorbing members being connected to a portion of the support frame. Also disclosed herein are methods for dampening an applied force to a joint during walking using the disclosed devices and shoes.
