  • Patent number: 10011353
Abstract: This disclosure describes an unmanned aerial vehicle (“UAV”) that includes a lifting motor and lifting propeller that operate at a rotational speed to generate a force sufficient to maintain the UAV at an altitude. The UAV also includes a plurality of maneuverability motors and propellers that are utilized to stabilize and maneuver the UAV. When a maneuverability command is received, the forces to be generated by each of the maneuverability propellers are determined without considering the full effects of gravity because the lifting motor and lifting propeller effectively cancel out the force of gravity acting upon the UAV.

  • Patent number: 10011355
Abstract: An apparatus for filtering water has an interface and a filtration/purification canister removably mountable onto the interface. Connecting the canister to the interface automatically opens a check valve in the interface to permit water to flow from the interface into and through the canister, and then back to and through the interface to an outlet port. Disconnecting the canister from the interface automatically closes the check valve, stopping the flow of water. An end cap may be substituted for the canister to permit fluid to flow through the interface when the canister is not mounted on the interface.

  • Patent number: 10011361
Abstract: An Environmental Control System (ECS) which includes a heat exchanger (HX) and an air conditioning unit (ACU) upstream of the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger receives flows of hot air bled from a plurality of aircraft engines and flows of cold ambient air drawn from the aircraft exterior for use by the heat exchanger and the air conditioning unit for heating and cooling the interior cabin of the aircraft. The environmental control system may operate in one of several modes, whether the heat exchanger and air conditioning unit are operating normally or have failed. In a normal mode, the air conditioning unit and heat exchanger operate in series. In an “ACU only” mode, the air conditioning unit operates without the heat exchanger. In an “HX only” mode, the heat exchanger operates without the air conditioning unit. In an “ECS off” mode, both the heat exchanger and air conditioning unit are bypassed.

Abstract: A reclosable bag zipper having a female profile assembly that terminates in a first curled end. A male profile assembly opposes the female profile assembly to selectively close the opening. The male profile assembly terminates in a second curled end. A riser is formed by non-uniform portions of the curled ends at one end of the bag. The slider has a dividing member and depending opposing first and second sides that define a central channel for receiving the curled ends. The curled ends create a distal bias against the slider, wherein: the first and second sides engage the profiles when moved in a closing direction; the dividing member separates the profiles when moved in an opening direction opposite to the closing direction; and when the slider is moved in the closing direction onto the riser, the dividing member moves distally away from the profiles so that the zipper may be fully closed.
