Abstract: ‘AU Gulf Coast Gold’ is a new golden-fleshed cultivar of Actinidia chinensis Planch with a low chilling requirement. ‘AU Gulf Coast Gold’ fruit is large, cylindrical and uniform in shape with yellow flesh that has a thick sweet flavor and delicious taste. ‘AU Gulf Coast Gold’ fruit has a high percent soluble solids and dry matter content. Vegetative bud burst begins in late March to early April and flowering begins on average April 18-20 in central Alabama. Fruit typically reaches maturity September 21-25 in central Alabama with an internal color hue of less than 103°.

Abstract: A method apparatus for teat dipping for sanitizing the udder of a cow either before or after milking. The apparatus has an extension arm with a dispersion portion so that when a cow is in a cleaning location the extension arm will extend underneath a cow's udder and dispersed cleaning fluid onto the cow's udder. A sensing system is used that detects the rotation of the parlor to determine if a cow is at a cleaning location. Further, the sensing system detects whether a cow is present in a stall of the rotary milking parlor.

Abstract: The present invention involves a new synthesis route for the formation of lactylates. The method comprises reacting a dilactide with a compound comprising a hydroxy group. This reaction is preferably carried out in the presence of a cation or other source of alkalinity. Preferred compounds comprising a hydroxy group include any fatty acid and fatty acid alcohol (particularly C1-C26 fatty acid chains). Preferred cations include cations of Group I and II metals, with sodium, calcium, and potassium cations being particularly preferred. The inventive reactions proceed much more rapidly than prior art lactylate synthesis reactions, and can be used to form 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-lactylates.

In particular, the invention relates to compositions and methods for treating or preventing inflammatory conditions such as citrulline-related inflammatory diseases. The invention provides specific binding molecules directed against citrulline-containing epitopes for use in the therapy and prevention of inflammatory conditions.

Abstract: A vehicle locating system that includes a hand-held remote unit associated with a user and a locator unit associated with a vehicle. The locator unit utilizes a GPS to store a location of the vehicle. The remote unit is selected from the group laptop computer, key ring, GPS watch, cellular telephone and PDA, and it utilizes a GPS to store a location of the user. The remote unit queries the locator unit to obtain the location of the vehicle, and then compares the location of the vehicle to its own location, whereupon the remote unit displays a direction for the user to travel in order to reach the vehicle.

Abstract: Apparatus for sorting and orienting sperm cells has a pair or walls in confronting relationship forming a flow chamber having inlet, a downstream outlet, and intermediate detector region. The inlet receives first and second spaced apart streams of input fluid and a third stream of sample fluid containing the cells to be sorted. The first and second streams have respective flow rates relative to third stream, such that the third stream is constricted forming a relatively narrow sample stream, so that the cells are oriented parallel to the walls. A detector detects desired cells and a sorter downstream of the detector for sorting the desired cells from the stream.

Abstract: An Asset Health Management system monitors and analyzes the health of a component of an asset. A sensor network, with one or more sensors operably coupled to an asset component, collects sensor data associated with operating characteristics of the asset component. A processing node (a System Health Node) includes one or more modules, i.e., software functions, and one or more configuration files. The processing node processes the sensor data with the one or more modules according to the one or more configuration files and determines health information corresponding to the asset component. The one or more modules receive and transmit input and output data, respectively, via data streams that organize the input and output data, e.g., according to time stamps and that may be cached. The health information may be displayed on user interfaces and/or may be transmitted over an information network to external systems.

The system transfers data from multiple blocks (source blocks) of binary data to one block (target block) of multi-state data using a multi-state programming process, where the target block has been previously programmed with binary data X times (or less than X times).

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a laser diode array capable of inhibiting electric cross talk is provided. The method of manufacturing a laser diode array includes a processing step of forming a peel layer containing an oxidizable material and a vertical resonator structure over a first substrate sequentially from the first substrate side by crystal growth, and then selectively etching the peel layer and the vertical resonator structure to the first substrate, thereby processing into a columnar shape, a peeling step of oxidizing the peel layer from a side face, and then peeling the vertical resonator structure of columnar shape from the first substrate, and a rearrangement step of jointing a plurality of vertical resonator structures of columnar shape obtained by the peeling step to a surface of a metal layer of a second substrate formed with the metal layer on the surface.

The rotary hoe mounting structure has a pivot member extending in a plane at right angles to the shaft and the rotary hoe is pivotally mounted to the pivot member for limited composite angular movement relative to a vertical plane and the direction of travel. Abstract: An agricultural implement is provided having a tongue, a central toolbar extending from the tongue, and first and second wings extending generally outwardly from the central toolbar. The implement may include a central hopper system to provide the material to individual row units along the central toolbar and wings, or may include individual hoppers located at each of the row units along the toolbars. A weight distribution system is used with the implement to update and adjust the amount of down force applied at the outer toolbars or wings, and the individual row units. The distribution system includes an intelligent control connected to sensors and cylinders. Therefore, the intelligent control receives information from the sensors and adjusts the cylinders accordingly to provide the appropriate amount of down force and to adjust the down force on a real time basis, and can be a closed loop or open loop system.

Abstract: A seed firming assembly is mounted to a planter by a bracket attached to a seed tube guard between a pair of opener disks. The bracket has first and second sides that define a cavity therebetween for receiving a seed tube. A first mounting structure in front of the cavity secures the bracket to the seed tube guard. A second mounting structure behind the cavity attaches a seed firmer to the bracket with a pivot connection that allows rotation of the seed firmer relative to the bracket about a generally horizontal transverse axis. A stopper bushing limits an extent of forward pivoting of the seed firmer relative to the bracket, and an adjustable tensioner mechanism limits an extent of rearward pivoting. The seed firmer has an upper portion comprising a leaf spring, and a lower portion comprising a material that has a higher abrasion resistance than the upper portion.

The singulator includes a hopper configured to provide a flow of plantlet casings from a storage tank of the agricultural system, a pair of counter-rotating rods configured to receive the plantlet casings from the hopper at a feed rate, where the pair of counter-rotating rods are spaced apart from one another to form a gap, and where the gap is configured to direct the plantlet casings from a first end of the pair of counter-rotating rods to a second end of the pair of counter-rotating rods, and a drive assembly configured to drive rotation of the pair of counter-rotating rods.

Abstract: A seed planter and seed meter for planting different seed varieties based on the location of the machine in a field. A movable gate switches between seed varieties. The gate in one embodiment has three positions; one position opening a first seed passage to the meter and closing a second seed passage, a second position opening the second seed passage and closing the first seed passage and a third position closing both the first and second seed passages. Two other gate embodiments have only two positions, each position opening one seed passage and closing the other.

Abstract: A lawnmower discharge device for discharging grass clippings in various directions. The lawnmower discharge device includes a planar baseplate that can be removably secured to a discharge port of a lawnmower. The baseplate includes an opening to provide access for grass clippings to move therethrough. The device further includes a curved, tubular discharge chute rotatably secured to the baseplate, wherein the discharge chute is positioned over the opening of the baseplate in order to allow grass clippings to move therethrough. The lawnmower discharge device further includes a rotating mechanism disposed between the baseplate and the discharge chute in order to allow the chute to rotate relative to the fixed baseplate. In this way, the lawnmower discharge device can be removably secured to a lawnmower and rotated thereon in order to prevent grass clippings from spraying onto flowerbeds, patios, sidewalks, and the like.

The outward portion extends therebetween, the outward portion being inclined in an upward direction relative to the gathering portion, and directed in an outward direction, thereby extending away from the channel, and away from the other one of the first side and the second side lower conveyor sub-assemblies.

At least a first drive wheel and a second drive wheel (32) of the riding lawn care vehicle may be attachable to the frame. The steering assembly may include a first steering lever and a second steering lever (34), where the first and second steering levers are operably coupled to the first and second drive wheels respectively to facilitate turning of the riding lawn care vehicle based on drive speed control of the first and second drive wheels responsive to positioning of the first and second steering levers. The brake assembly may be operably coupled to the first and second drive wheels to enable brakes to be selectively applied to the first and second drive wheels.

Abstract: A device and related system is disclosed for detachably mounting to the teeth of a wheel rake to support each individual tooth preventing premature tooth breakage. The device and system for mitigating stress on an individual wheel rake tooth includes a plurality of individual supports detachably mounted to two or more wheel rake teeth. The individual supports are detachably coupled to two adjacent individual supports via elongated openings at each end of the individual support. When detachably mounted to the wheel rake teeth at a radius inside the tip of the teeth, the supports act to distribute the stress on an individual wheel rake tooth among adjacent wheel rake teeth as the tooth impacts an object.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a removable cover plate assembly, which may be quickly attached, detached and adjusted to the exterior of a concave grate of a combine harvester in order to adjust the flow characteristics of the concave or separator grate assemblies. The cover plate assembly improves the threshing capability of the rasp bar threshing cylinder while simultaneously capturing additional threshed grain. Moreover, the cover plate assembly of the present invention enables a single set of concave grate assemblies to better harvest a wider variety of crop types.

Abstract: Disclosed is an articulated harvesting combine of a forward power processing unit (PPU) having a forward set of wheel assemblies and a rear grain cart connected by an articulating joint assembly. Bonus sieves assemblies are located in the outer rear of the PPU for accepting grain from concaves and grates assemblies located forward of the bonus sieves assemblies. The bonus sieves assemblies accept tailings from the concaves and grates assemblies for additional separation of grain from material other than grain (MOG). New and separate airflow is provided for the bonus sieves. The bonus sieves tailings are returned to the bonus sieves for rethreshing, optionally after being particulated and air separation performed.

Abstract: A system for determining knife usage. The system includes an infeed cutter including a cutter rotor, a knife drawer, and a plurality of knives extending through the knife drawer. The cutter rotor is mounted above the knife drawer such that a cutting zone for crop material is defined. The system further includes a measuring device configured to measure a quantity which is representative for the couple exerted by the cutter rotor on crop material going through the cutting zone of the infeed cutter, a controller configured to control the measuring device for measuring values for the quantity at consecutive moments in time, and a knife usage determining module configured to determine knife usage based on the measured values.

Abstract: A modular cell that may be used with other cells to form a matrix under a load bearing feature, the cell being a single piece molding that supports a compressive load placed thereon, the molding including a void space defined within: a skirt shaped support member defining a substantially planar surface with an opening therein; and at least one leg integral to and extending from the support member. The cell further includes at least one linking member that releasably links together multiple cells to form a matrix of cells. The cells may be linked together vertically and/or horizontally. The cell and matrix include greater load bearing capacity and rigidity through aligned legs to carry the weight and interlinking members that act to share the load among the various cells. The design is cheaper to produce and allows easy access of the void space for filling and laying utility lines.

Abstract: A stump grinding wheel assembly having a disk-like wheel body. A plurality of bilateral mounting stations integral with the wheel body and arranged into spiral cluster groups. Each spiral cluster having an inner mounting station and at least one middle mounting station and an outer mounting station. The inner mounting stations are thicker than the middle mounting stations, which are thicker than the outer mounting stations. A pair of opposing side-cutters are disposed on each left and right side of the mounting stations. A separate plunge-cutter may be included with each spiral cluster. The bilateral mounting stations produce conically-helical cutting paths using identical side-cutters. The unequal width of the inner and middle and outer mounting stations enables better management of cutting forces in side cutting mode, which produces smoother operation.
