Abstract: Various aspects of a system and method to provide driving assistance to safely overtake a vehicle are disclosed herein. In accordance with an embodiment, an electronic control unit used in a first vehicle is configured to detect a second vehicle in front of the first vehicle. A first position associated with the first vehicle and a second position associated with the detected second vehicle is determined for a first time instance. It may be determined whether a lateral distance between the determined first position and the determined second position is below a pre-defined threshold distance. A first alert is generated when the determined lateral distance is below the pre-defined threshold distance.

At least a part of the cylinder head cover overlaps the head cover adjoining portion as viewed from a direction along a cylinder axis that is a center axis of the cylinder. The head cover adjoining portion extends rearward such that the cylinder head cover is exposed outside in a side view. The foregoing configuration seeks to affect the ease of mounting and dismounting a saddle-ride vehicle having a power unit with a cylinder arranged upward and the vehicle body frame for supporting the power unit by reducing the left-right width of a vehicle body frame while allowing a cylinder head cover to be attachable and detachable.

  • Patent number: 10071786
Abstract: The invention relates to a two-wheeled vehicle with rear-wheel suspension, comprising a frame (602) with at least one frame tube (603, 604, 605), a swingarm assembly (620) mounted on the frame (602) for the purpose of suspending a rear wheel (613), a linear spring/damper element, and a transmission mechanism (630) that is functionally connected to both the spring/damper element and to the swingarm assembly (620). The spring/damper element is received in a receiving chamber inside the frame tube (603). The transmission mechanism (630) is designed and mounted on the frame (602) such that it transmits a force between the spring/damper element and the swingarm assembly (620) by means of a rotational axis that extends through an axial opening in the frame tube (603). Arranging the spring/damper element inside the frame (602) avoids soiling. The rotational axis of the transmission mechanism (630) can also be designed to have relatively small dimensions in order to achieve a high degree of frame stability.

Abstract: A speed control system for electric bicycles includes a bicycle having pedals, a motor and a battery which provides electric power to the motor. The bicycle includes a speed detector to detect speed of the bicycle to create a current speed value. A controller is electrically connected to the motor, the battery and the speed detector. The controller has a preset constant-speed setting value. The controller receives the current speed value from the speed detector, and compares the current speed value with the preset constant-speed setting value to adjust output of the motor and the battery. The controller changes the output of the motor and the battery according to the current speed so that the motor assists the rider to operate the bicycle instantly.

  • Patent number: 10071791
Abstract: A marine threat monitoring and defense system and method protects a target vessel in icy or other marine regions. The system uses communications, user interfaces, and data sources to identify marine obstacles (e.g., icebergs, ice floes, pack ice, etc.) near a target vessel performing set operations (e.g., a stationed structure performing drilling or production operations or a seismic survey vessel performing exploration operations with a planned route). The system monitors positions of these identified marine obstacles over time relative to the target vessel and predicts any potential threats. When a threat is predicted, the system plans deployment of support vessels, beacons, and the like to respond to the threat. For example, the system can direct a support vessel to divert the path or break up ice threatening the target vessel.

The floor comprises two lateral portions which are fixed respectively to two opposite lateral edges of the fuselage and which enclose a central portion to which they are fixed. One of the lateral floor portions is fixed to the central portion so as to allow a relative lateral movement between the two portions in the event of a modification in pressure inside the fuselage. The cross section thus deforms homogeneously when the fuselage is pressurized and the floor is not involved in maintaining the shape of the fuselage.
