Abstract: A removable and replaceable hip orthotic that includes a back panel formed from a rigid material that supports a patient's lumbar area; a front panel formed from the rigid material that supports the patient's abdomen area and is hinged to the back panel to allow application and removal of the orthotic to the patient; a leg support that extends from the back support that includes a space that allows a patient's leg to pass through into the leg support; and straps to secure the back panel to the front panel and the leg into the leg support. The back panel includes a pair of windows with a trochanter pad movably disposed within the windows. An adjustment mechanism selectively moves the trochanter pads relative to the greater trochanter regions of the hips of the patient to apply pressure to the hip joint to prevent dislocation of the femoral head.

Abstract: An orthotic substantially precludes a human wearing it from rolling from her or his side to her or his face or back. The garment (such as a vest or jacket) has an open top portion, a front that can be closed by fasteners, a substantially closed rear, a first receptacle on the front, and a second receptacle on the rear and functionally cooperating with the first receptacle. Third and fourth receptacles are preferably also provided, the first and second receptacles on the left side of the garment, and the third and fourth on the right side. The garment may be primarily of a stretchable mesh fabric. A cylindrical or prismatic bolster (e. g. of firm foam or rubber) is insertable into, and removable from, each of the first and second receptacles, or each of the third and fourth receptacles.

Abstract: Described here are systems and methods for accessing Schlemm's canal and for delivering an ocular device or fluid composition therein. The ocular devices may maintain the patency of Schlemm's canal without substantially interfering with transmural fluid flow across the canal. The fluid composition may be a viscoelastic fluid that is delivered into the canal to facilitate drainage of aqueous humor by disrupting the canal and surrounding trabeculocanalicular tissues. Tools for disrupting these tissues and minimally invasive methods for treating medical conditions associated with elevated intraocular pressure, including glaucoma, are also described.

Abstract: The present invention is a device that is used for glaucoma management by using an adjustable shunt that drains the aqueous humour from inside the eye in a precise way. This new device has a valve that prevents back flow of the drained fluid and that decreases the risk of hypotony, and also this device has an intraocular pressure indicator. In addition to the main device, there is a small device that is implanted throughout the iris, in order to shunt aqueous humour from posterior chamber to anterior chamber of the eye.
