Abstract: A wastewater treatment process elicits microorganisms to convert a waste stream/organic resource to intracellular biopolymer polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA). The process includes (i) waste stream/organic resource composition feed criteria, (ii) configuration coupled with operational parameters, and (iii) PHA-laden biomass separation and stabilization. A waste stream/organic resource capable of producing enhanced levels of PHA may be selected based on a combination of criteria, which may include short chain fatty acid concentration, protein concentration, polysaccharides concentration, and total suspended solids concentration. The waste stream is introduced into an aeration basin or sequencing batch reactor upon a specific configuration and operated under various parameter combinations for selecting/enriching microorganisms capable of producing PHA. The PHA-laden biomass is separated and stabilized for downstream PHA related product beneficial uses.

Abstract: Described herein is a wastewater treatment process comprising an anoxic zone upstream of an attached growth reactor wherein a portion of nitrified waste from the attached growth reactor is recycled to a point in the treatment process that is upstream of at least part of the anoxic zone rather than being released from the system. As a result, the influent wastewater and the recycled effluent mix together and are nitrified and denitrified as they progress through the waste treatment system. The key aspect of this process is that the nitrate-rich, effluent water is returned to the anoxic reactor for (additional) denitrification of the wastewater.

Abstract: New chelators such as H3L1, H3L2, H3L3, H3L26 and derivatives were synthesized for the complexation of {Al18F}2+. These new chelators are able to complex {AI18F}2+ with good radiochemical yields using a labeling temperature of 37° C. The stability of the new Al18F-complexes was tested in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) at pH 7 and in rat serum. AI18F-L3 and AI18F-L26 showed a stability comparable to that of the previously reported Al18F-NODA. Moreover, the biodistribution of Al18F-L3 and Al18F-L26 showed absence of in vivo demetallation since only very limited bone uptake was observed, whereas the major fraction of activity 60 min p.i. was observed in liver and intestine due to hepatobiliary clearance of the radiolabeled ligand. The chelators H3L3 and Al18F-L26 demonstrated to be a good lead candidates for the labeling of heat sensitive biomolecules with 18F-fluorine and derivatives have been synthesized.

Abstract: A process for the double-bond isomerization of olefins is disclosed. The process may include contacting a hydrocarbon stream including olefins with a ?-alumina-titania isomerization catalyst to convert at least a portion of the olefin to its positional isomer. The ?-alumina-titanic isomerization catalysts disclosed herein may also have the activity to convert alcohol into additional olefins, while having increased resistance to oxygenate poisons.

Abstract: The present subject matter describes processes for increasing overall aromatics and xylenes yield in an aromatics complex. More specifically, the process for increasing overall aromatics and xylenes yield in an aromatics complex accomplishes the increased yields by incorporating an A8-A10 isomerization step into the aromatics complex. This isomerization integration increases the para-xylene.
