Abstract: The invention provides for a medical apparatus comprising a processor. Execution instructions causes the processor to receive a treatment plan descriptive of an ionizing radiation beam treatment of a target zone within a subject using a radiation beam therapy system with a radiation source and a gantry. The radiation source is operable for aiming a radiation beam path at a rotational axis of the gantry. The instructions further cause the processor to receive a planning thermal distribution descriptive of ultrasound heating of the subject with a high intensity focused ultrasound system of a heating zone and an ultrasound beam path within the subject. The target zone is within the heating zone. The instructions further cause the processor to generate radiation control command data using the planning thermal distribution and the treatment plan.

Abstract: A multifunction device for use generally with ropes and cords is disclosed. A rope portion of the device is about three times longer as it is wide. A brake bar extends perpendicularly from one end of the rope portion, and a brake retainer extends upward and perpendicular from the brake bar, forming a slot between the rope portion and brake retainer. There are three openings in the rope portion, one at each end, with the middle opening offset toward the upper opening for accommodating a narrowed region in said rope portion below the middle opening. The rope portion is about 3 times longer than its width, the brake bar is about half as wide as the rope portion and the brake retainer is about half as wide as the brake bar. The device has use as a belay, a rappel, an anchor, an auger, a toggle and other uses.

Abstract: Disclosed are adsorbent materials that comprise a porous material having a continuous silica phase coated with a carbon layer, and a water-insoluble precipitate comprising a metal cation and an anion disposed substantially evenly throughout the adsorbent material. In some examples, the plurality of pores can have an average characteristic dimension of from 0.1 ? to 100 ?. The water-insoluble precipitate can be formed in the plurality of pores of the porous material by contacting the porous material with a first aqueous solution comprising a metal cation; and contacting the porous material with a second aqueous solution comprising an anion; wherein the metal cation and the anion combine to form the water-insoluble precipitate in the plurality of pores of the porous material, thereby forming the adsorbent material.

Abstract: A body belt for use by linemen and others engaged in operations on poles or similar structures having a secondary set of D-rings, typically disposed slightly rearward of the primary D-rings on the belt or an auxiliary belt or attachment above or below the primary D-ring of the belt. The secondary D-rings which may differ in size from the primary D-rings, allow a wearer to separate devices that are normally attached to the primary D-rings. This allows less crowding of the primary D-rings, thereby making detachment and reattachment of one or more ancillary safety devices from the body belt as a lineman encounters an obstacle during his or her work on a pole or other elevated structure, thereby improving safety. An add-on D-ring assembly is provided for retrofitting body belts of the prior art. In another embodiment of the invention, an auxiliary body belt is detachably connected to the primary body belt, the auxiliary body belt having its own set of D-rings.

Abstract: Disclosed is a fall protection device, and methods and systems for using the device, that can be attached to a structural beam at elevated heights. The device includes an upper component and a lower component adapted to fit together around the structural beam, and a pair of quick release pins for passing through a pair of transverse openings in the upper component and the lower component. The upper component has a generally L-shaped profile and includes a horizontal leg having a slot in the lower surface along the length thereof for receiving an upper portion of the lower component having a thickness less than the slot thickness. The device includes at least one transverse opening through the upper and/or lower component for tying off one or more safety lines. The upper and/or lower component includes vertically and horizontally oriented rollers for moving the device along the structural beam when attached.

Abstract: A safety restraint system for use by a worker working in a bucket, including a primary tether line that securely encircles the bucket at a position adjacent to the upper rim thereof; at least a pair of straps connected to the tether line on opposite sides of the bucket; a safety harness or aerial belt adapted to be worn by the worker and having at least a pair of clips attached thereto; and at least a pair of straps that interconnect the harness buckles to the straps on the tether line, thereby interconnecting the harness to the tether line.

Abstract: Fire protection mist nozzles for industrial oil cookers, oil cookers with fire protection systems, and method of oil cooker fire protection are provided. The mist nozzles operate at pressures between 170 and 250 psi, and provide a unique distribution pattern that allows for variable installations for protection in certain operative environments including oil cookers with various hood configurations. The fire protection nozzles includes a base defining an inlet and an outlet along an axis. The base includes an orifice having an inlet diameter and an outlet diameter. The outlet diameter is preferably greater than the inlet diameter; and the orifice defines a K-factor of less than 1.0 gpm/psi½. The nozzle includes a diffuser aligned with the orifice. The diffuser has a preferably substantially domed portion with a maximum diameter that is less than the summation of the inlet diameter and the outlet diameter of the orifice.

The apparatus includes a storage pipeline to store the fire fighting substance composition, comprising a pipeline with a cross-section exceeding the cross-section of the forwarding pipeline and closed at its ends or closed into itself like a loop, where the storage pipeline is equipped with a feeder pipe end with a pressure-tight shut-off device, a valve on the feeder pipe end, as well as a device to measure pressure in the interior space of the storage pipeline and a safety fitting, preferably a safety valve. The storage pipeline has a forwarding branch-off, to which branch-off the forwarding pipeline is connected by its input end.

Abstract: A compressed air foam (CAF) mixing device is suitable for use in a CAF system which includes a pressurized source of a water soap mixture and a pressurized air source. The CAF mixing device includes an inlet portion, a venturi portion and a deceleration portion. The venturi portion communicates with the inlet portion and includes a constricted zone which presents a smaller cross sectional area than the inlet portion. The venturi portion opens into the deceleration portion which has a substantially larger cross sectional area than the venturi portion. At least one pressurized air conduit communicates with the pressurized air source and is arranged to be adjacent to the deceleration portion. At least one aperture which communicates between the pressurized air conduit and the deceleration portion introduces high pressure air into the deceleration portion in order to produce a water soap foam (CAF) suitable for firefighting.

Abstract: A method for delivering water through a fire hydrant is disclosed and includes unlocking a sprinkler cap control lock on the fire hydrant, removing the sprinkler cap control lock to access an operating nut of the fire hydrant and activating the operating nut to deliver water through a plurality of sprinkler ports in at least one of a plurality of caps on the fire hydrant. Also disclosed are fire hydrant with a lubricant channel and a method of lubricating a fire hydrant operation nut. Also disclosed is a fire hydrant that does not need a lubricant disposed between the operation nut and the fire hydrant body due to an operating nut sleeve being disposed between the operation nut and the fire hydrant body.

Abstract: A dry sprinkler assembly capable of providing fire suppression protection, including early suppression fast response protection and storage protection of a commodity having a nominal storage height of at least 20 feet beneath a ceiling of with a maximum nominal 40 foot ceiling height. The dry sprinkler assembly includes an internal passageway and an outlet defining a nominal K-factor of at least 16.8 GPM/PSI1?2. Embodiments of the sprinkler assembly include a deflector having a plurality of tines radially disposed about a central portion to define slots therebetween. Embodiments of the deflector define a non-planar deflecting member and a member with a non-circular perimeter. Installation of the sprinkler assembly provides for a insulation sealing assembly having a insulation ring, planar insert member and a surrounding housing.

The device further includes a mixing unit fluidly connected to the inlet and the encapsulate storage unit, a diverter device connected to the mixing unit and at least one storage unit configured to receive and store the embalming procedure waste from the diverter device.

Abstract: The invention is a dumbbell adapted for lifting by the legs. In particular, it is designed to fit in the crook of the knee for exercises such as the kneeling dumbbell leg lift and the fire hydrant leg lift. The handle is offset from center, flush with the top of the weights to prevent the dumbbell from rolling down the calf. The weights are fixedly attached to the handle so they do not rotate. The weights have a horseshoe shape, elongated vertically so they do not slip off the leg, and flattened at the bottom for stability on the floor. The weights also taper inward at the base to hold the leg firmly. Options include an adjustable length handle, magnetic additional weights, a handle cushion, and an electronic user interface to adjust the number of reps and the rest period.

Abstract: A multi-limb exercise machine and method that includes a plurality of user-movable input components, an input measurement device associated with each of the input components, a feedback device for providing the user with output information that indicates the difference between a current performance level and a performance target, and a processor that receives input information about user effort applied to each of the input components and communicates the output information to the feedback device. The input components are each configured to be moved by a limb of a user and to resist being moved. The processor determines the difference between performance levels based at least in part on a reward bias that decreases the difference more for effort applied to one of the input components than for effort applied to another of the input components.

Abstract: A swim cap for persons having long hair includes a shell preferably having at least two interconnected compartments for receiving and encapsulating the hair of a user. The swim cap is secured around the head of a user by at least one draw string or adjustable band positioned within a channel near the open end of the swim cap as well as a chin strap extending downwardly from the cap. The interconnected compartments can be inflated to provide buoyancy. The shell further includes an outer layer and an inner layer defining a space therebetween that can also be inflated, or comprised of buoyant material, to provide buoyancy. A pump, compressed air canister or manual filler tube in communication with the interconnected compartments or space within the shell can be used to provide inflation. A pair of ear flaps extends downwardly from the swim cap around a user's head.

Abstract: Methods for making multi-piece golf balls comprising at least one component made of ethylene-propylene diene copolymer (EPDM) rubber and the resulting balls are provided. The multi-piece golf ball includes a cover, preferably a dual-cover having inner and outer cover layers. The outer cover is preferably made of a liquid rubber composition based on liquid EPDM rubber. In one version, the ball sub-assembly is dipped in a bath containing liquid EPDM rubber to form the outer cover. In another version, a casting method is used and the liquid EPDM rubber is dispensed into mold cavities to form the outer cover. The inner core of the ball may be made of polybutadiene rubber and the outer core layer may be made of EPDM rubber. The resulting golf ball has high resiliency, a soft feel, and good weatherability.

The system includes a distal enclosure, a proximal enclosure, and a software application resident on the portable electronic device. The proximal and distal enclosures are fixable with the proximal and distal ends, respectively, of the sporting implement, and two additional hip enclosures may be include for fixing with the person's hips. Each enclosure includes a power source that powers a sensing circuit having at least one sensor and a transmitter. The software application is adapted to receive the sensor data from the sensing circuits and display aspects of the person's swing on a display thereof as derived from the sensor data. Embodiments adapted for use with golf clubs, sporting racquets, and baseball bats are disclosed.

Abstract: A device and method for regulating a pace of golf play. A golf course is divided into segments, with each segment assigned a time for completion by a user golfer group. Spaced apart signal lights are positioned on the golf course. Each golfer group is provided with a wireless positioning device. A computing device compares an elapsed time for completion of a number of segments with the total assigned time for the number of segments completed. The computing device wirelessly actuates a visual signal to the golfer group by a signal light on the golf course when the elapsed time for completion of the number of segments by the user golfer group is greater than the total assigned time for the number of segments completed. The device and method take into account impediments to pace of play that are outside of the golfer group's control.

The five-second timing device, the ten-second timing device, and the one or more time lapse displays are electrically interconnected using the plurality of control signals.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a system comprises a game controller module, a trigger satisfaction module, a metadata module, and a marker module. The game controller module may be configured to receive user control signals and execute gameplay based on the user control signals. The trigger satisfaction module may be configured to determine whether one or more events that occur during the gameplay satisfy one or more trigger conditions of a trigger. The metadata module may be configured to generate one or more trigger satisfaction indicators based on the satisfaction of the one or more trigger conditions of the trigger. The marker module may be configured to associate the one or more trigger satisfaction indicators with video of the gameplay to generate one or more game event markers to be used to enable a viewer to jump to one or more game segments associated with the trigger.

Abstract: An electronic tag game includes a system having magnetic field sensors that are to be worn by a player of the electronic tag game. The magnetic field sensors are configured to detect a change in the local magnetic field. The magnetic field sensors may be in operable communication with one another and are configured to send a signal reporting a change in the local magnetic field to a controller which may be communication with electronic device such as a smart phone or the like. The local magnetic field may be altered by one or more devices configured for creating a change in the local magnetic field. For example a spherical projectile or hand-held object may be provided and include a magnet that is configured to alter the magnetic field around the magnetic field sensors when a player wearing the magnetic field sensor is struck with the projectile.
