Abstract: A device for taking anatomical measurements uses an L-shaped beam, a clamp and an adjustment handle to measure the dimensions of body parts. The L-shaped beam is a rigid structure that functions as the main arm and the fixed jaw blade of a pair of lockable measurement calipers. Specifically, the L-shaped beam has a first leg and a second leg that are terminally connected to form a right angle. The clamp is a sleeved device that is slidably mounted onto the first leg of the L-shaped beam. This enables the user to slide the clamp along the first leg until the clamp is moved into a desired position. The user can then lock the clamp in place. The adjustment handle is a rigid beam that is terminally connected to the clamp. Thus positioned, the adjustment handle acts as the movable jaw blade for the pair of lockable measurement calipers.

Abstract: A basic physical condition of a person is estimated. A biological state estimation device calculates a plurality of indexes indicating variations of states of bioregulation function elements, including an index ascribable to fluctuation highly correlated with a brain function, an autonomic nervous function, bodily and mental fatigue, or sensation, which are obtained from a bioregulation function element judging device, every predetermined judgment times set for the respective bioregulation function elements in advance to find time-series variations of the indexes. A basic physical condition estimating device analyzes the time-series variations in order of priorities. Consequently, it is possible to find a physical condition from fluctuation performance serving as a basis of a regulation system of a person in a basic physical condition estimation time which is set longer than the judgment times of the respective bioregulation function elements.

Abstract: A voided volume calculation unit automatically calculates a voided volume of a subject based on information for a weight value before voiding and information for the weight value after voiding that have been transmitted from a weight measurement unit. The memory unit takes the calculated voided volume of the subject as voided volume information, and makes association with additional information regarding voiding accepted by an additional information input accepting unit. Then, the memory unit records the pieces of information associated with each other as the voiding information. Therefore, it is possible to perform detailed management of the information regarding voiding.

Abstract: A system and method for non-invasive and/or non-contact measurement of a subject's tremor in the context of therapeutic intervention is presented. The system includes a memory, a communications interface, a sensor to measure a signal associated with position or motion of an extremity of the subject, and a processor. The processor is configured to receive the signal from the sensor. The processor is further configured to communicate, via the communications interface, the signal, login credentials, and position or motion data to a remote server coupled to a remote electronic health record database. The remote server is configured to receive the signal and perform an analysis that quantifies a severity of tremor based on the position or motion signals of the subject. The processor is configured to receive the analysis that quantified the severity of tremor and cause the quantified severity of tremor to be displayed via a display device.

By so doing, accuracy and robustness in sensing and assessing a patient's cardiovascular health can be improved. These improved assessments permit better measures of health, such as relevant hemodynamics understood by heart rates, heart rate variability, cardiac arrhythmias, blood pressures, pulse-wave velocities, arterial stiffness, cardiac valve timing, thoracic fluids, ballistocardiogram force, photo-plethysmograms, blood oxygenation, and pressure-volume loops.

Abstract: Systems and methods for minimizing or eliminating transient non-glucose related signal noise due to non-glucose rate limiting phenomenon such as ischemia, pH changes, temperatures changes, and the like. The system monitors a data stream from a glucose sensor and detects signal artifacts that have higher amplitude than electronic or diffusion-related system noise. The system replaces some or the entire data stream continually or intermittently including signal estimation methods that particularly address transient signal artifacts. The system is also capable of detecting the severity of the signal artifacts and selectively applying one or more signal estimation algorithm factors responsive to the severity of the signal artifacts, which includes selectively applying distinct sets of parameters to a signal estimation algorithm or selectively applying distinct signal estimation algorithms.
