Abstract: Boardroom table systems are provided that include a plurality of USB Type-C receptacles that can provide power and/or data transfer functionality to one or more devices attached thereto. Power transferred by the boardroom table system may be managed by USB Power Delivery, and may come from a source of wall power, or from a device coupled to one of the USB Type-C receptacles. Data transferred by the boardroom table system may include USB data, Ethernet data, video data, and/or any other type of data transmittable via a USB Type-C receptacle. In some embodiments, boardroom table systems also include presentation devices. In such embodiments, a device coupled to a USB Type-C receptacle could both transmit or receive power, exchange data, and transmit video to the presentation device via the same USB Type-C receptacle of the boardroom table system, thus eliminating the need for multiple sockets and cables.

Abstract: A shared memory controller receives, from a computing node, a request associated with a memory transaction involving a particular line in a memory pool. The request includes a node address according to an address map of the computing node. An address translation structure is used to translate the first address into a corresponding second address according to a global address map for the memory pool, and the shared memory controller determines that a particular one of a plurality of shared memory controllers is associated with the second address in the global address map and causes the particular shared memory controller to handle the request.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a networked system includes network interface ports to couple to a computer data network, PCIe devices, bridge devices coupled to network interface ports, a PCIe network switch coupled between bridge devices and PCIe devices, and a configuration device communicatively coupled to bridge devices and PCIe devices. Ports transmit outgoing and receive incoming network traffic. PCIe devices support a function of the computer data network. Each bridge device receives incoming network traffic portions and transmits outgoing network traffic portions through a respective network interface port. PCIe network switch routes PCIe packets between the plurality of bridge devices and the plurality of PCIe devices. Configuration device configures and initializes the PCIe devices for commands and operations that originate from the bridge devices.

The code converter generates a first transmission pointer by converting the first pointer with a second code or a third code according to an amount of data stored in or read from the first address. The synchronizer synchronizes the first transmission pointer with a second clock signal. The code restorer generates a first comparison pointer by restoring the first transmission pointer, synchronized with the second clock signal, with the first code. The comparator compares the first comparison pointer with a second pointer. The second pointer defines a second address of the buffer with the first code.

Abstract: A system comprises a plurality of nodes connected in a peer-to-peer network via a communication interface. At least one node of the plurality of nodes comprises a transceiver, at least two connectors, at least one termination resistance module coupled to the transceiver, the at least one termination resistance module providing termination resistance within the node, a first detection circuit coupled to a first connector of the at least two connectors, and a second detection circuit coupled to a second connector of the at least two connectors. The first and second detection circuits are configured to detect that the node is coupled to one or more other nodes in the peer-to-peer network, and automatically adjust the termination resistance based on the detecting.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for communication over a serial bus in accordance with an I3C protocol are described that enable a non-participating device to cause a master device on an I3C bus transmit a STOP condition that terminates a transaction with a slave device coupled to the I3C bus. A method performed at a master device coupled to a serial bus includes initiating a transaction between the master device and a first slave device, terminating the transaction before completion of the transaction when a second slave device intervenes in the transaction, and servicing the second slave device after terminating the transaction. The transaction may include transmissions of data frames over the serial bus. The second slave device may intervene when it is not a party to the transaction.

Abstract: A method and device for pushing an electronic book. the method comprises: obtaining reading duration information sent by multiple terminals (210), the reading duration information comprising identity information of the terminals, identifier information of electronic books read by users of the terminals, and reading time information corresponding to the identifier information; determining, according to the reading time information, reading preference information of the terminals corresponding to the identity information and average reading durations of the electronic books corresponding to the identifier information (220); and pushing a first electronic book to a first terminal according to the reading preference information and the average reading durations (230), the average reading duration of the first electronic book matching the reading preference information of the first terminal. By means of the method and the device, targeted pushing of electronic books is implemented.

Abstract: A computing device has a motherboard, at least two daughter boards communicably connected to the motherboard, each of the at least two daughter boards having at least a specialized processor and a high-speed inter-processor communications port; and at least two high-speed inter-processor communication interconnects connecting at least two of the high-speed inter-processor communications ports. The configuration enables a flexible topology architecture, e.g., for different applications, and rapid reuse of system components even when new specialized processors become available.

Abstract: Systems and methods of generating recipes for modeling data sets are presented. Based on a corpus of a plurality of recipes for modeling data sets, an analysis is made. The analysis is conducted on the plurality of recipes in light of a corresponding plurality of modeling metrics, resulting in the identification of performance bases of the processing steps of the plurality of recipes. A determination of a new recipe, not already included in the corpus of recipes, is made. The determination is made according to the identifies bases, the new recipe comprising a plurality of processing steps for processing the data set. A pipeline generated for the new recipe is obtained and submitted to a trained judge for evaluation. Predicted results for the new recipe is obtained from the trained judge and the recipe and predicted results are stored in the corpus of recipes.

Abstract: A multivalued microprocessor including a multivalued processing module having a plurality of multivalued processing units constructed with multivalued logic gates. The microprocessor also includes a multivalued register file having a plurality of registers, wherein the registers are constructed with multivalued memory cells. The multivalued microprocessors utilizes two memory modules constructed with multivalued memory cells: one for storing solely instructions and one for storing solely data. A plurality of multivalued buses transmit multivalued data between the processing module, the register file, and the memory modules. A methodology for designing multivalued circuits that are constructed with multivalued logic gates and memory cells. The designs of multivalued memory cells, multivalued tristate buffers, and multivalued decoders using multivalued logic gates.

Abstract: A method and system for persistently linking sources to text copied from the sources. A first electronic document and first text appearing in the first electronic document are displayed. Selected text and an address of a source electronic document that includes the selected text are obtained from a web page differing from the first electronic document. A temporary computer object is generated to include: a header, the obtained address of the source electronic document in the header, and the obtained selected text. The header includes an identifier of the temporary computer object and an attribute pertaining to the address of the source electronic document. The selected text in the temporary computer object is persistently linked with the source electronic document via the address of the source electronic document in the temporary computer object. The temporary computer object is stored in the first electronic document after the first text.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to systems and methods for instant insert of external content into a content-editor application. An assistant application is provided, separate from the content-editor application, that can identify, obtain, and insert the external content into the content-editor application. The assistant application can identify the external content responsive to a user request while the user is inputting or editing content in the content-editor application and/or the assistant can provide predictive options for insertion of content based on the already input content by the user. As one example, the assistant can insert a photo related to text the user has recently typed into the content-editor application. The assistant may obtain the photo from a public source such a public web server or from a local database for the user.

Abstract: A semantic based document editor is provided. An application such as a document processing application displays previews of a document. The previews include semantic styles. In response to a selection of one of the previews, a semantic style associated with the selected preview is applied to a section of the document. The semantic style is rendered in the selected preview. A suggestion is displayed on the section. The suggestion identifies the section. The suggestion is also formatted based on the semantic style.

A webpage view loading instruction to load a webpage view is received by a computing device. The webpage view is rendered by a browser application executing on the computing device. In response to receiving the webpage view loading instruction, the webpage view, including a placeholder element configured to hold a client view, is loaded by the computing device. Location information of the placeholder element is obtained. The client view is added to the webpage view at the location specified by the obtained location information, where the client view is rendered by an operating system of the computing device. The webpage view is provided for presentation on a display.

Abstract: Media, method and system for creating software capable of performing the steps necessary to prepare a complex form, and more particularly to the use of annotations to specify dependency information for the fields of the form. Embodiments of the invention break down the logic of complex forms into the much simpler logic of individual form fields, greatly simplifying the implementation of the overall logic by allowing individual fields to be worked on independently, with clear delineation of structure and function between them. Embodiments of the invention further allow a user to specify the immediate precursors for a field, and then automatically determine a global calculation order for all fields that ensures that all of the precursor fields for each field being calculated have been previously calculated before that field is calculated.

Abstract: A data model for managing custom fields for tasks in projects. The custom fields can be defined and shared across an organization, and are always unique. Each type of custom field is an object that is subclass of a generic object. Other objects define attributes of the custom fields and assign values to the attributes. The data model allows the custom fields to be preserved and managed across multiple projects and users.

Abstract: Techniques for rule creation from natural language text (NLT) are disclosed. In an embodiment, a rule statement in the NLT is grammatically parsed to obtain a parse tree. Further, each of noun phrase (NP) core sub-tree and verb phrase (VP) core sub-tree, in the parse tree, is partitioned into at least one sub-tree. Furthermore, one or more operators are extracted using at least one sub-tree of NP or VP core sub-trees. The rule statement is substantially simultaneously splitted into groups of 3 adjacent words (3-grams). Each of the 3-grams is then compared with a predefined list to extract data properties and class concepts associated with the rule statement. Moreover, subscripts are assigned to the data properties, class concepts and operators. A rule head is then created based on the data properties and operators. Also, a rule is created using the data properties, operators, class concepts, associated subscripts and rule head.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for dynamically modifying images based on the content of articles associated with the images, particularly the emotional content of an article. Among other things, embodiments of the present disclosure allow users to quickly and easily identify the emotional nature of an article based on such an image. Characteristics of an image associated with an article may also be modified in response to comments from viewers regarding the article.

Abstract: A system and method for providing counter intuitive recommendations to a user. A user profile is obtained for the user. A determination that a trigger condition has occurred for the user. The duration of the trigger condition is also determined. The trigger condition is associated with the user's profile. A request for a recommendation is received, and a list of recommendations is obtained. The recommendations are compared against the trigger condition to determine if the recommendation is compatible with the trigger condition. Those recommendations determined not to be compatible with the trigger condition are removed from the set of recommendations provided to the user.

Abstract: A word segmentation method and system for a language text, where in the method, a word segmentation is performed on the first language text in a first word segmentation manner to obtain a first word boundary set, the first word boundary set is divided into a trusted second word boundary set and an untrusted third word boundary set according to a confidence level threshold, a second language text is selected from the first language text according to the third word boundary set, and a word segmentation is performed on the second language text in a second word segmentation manner to obtain a fourth word boundary set. Word segmentation precision of the first language text can be flexibly adjusted by adjusting the confidence level threshold.

Abstract: Technology is disclosed for building correction models that correct natural language snippets. Correction models can include rules comprising pairs of word sequences identified from viable correction snippet pairs, where a first sequence of words in the pair should be replaced with a second sequence of words in the pair. Viable correction snippet pairs can be identified from among pairs of language snippets, such as a post to a social media website and a subsequent update to that post. Viable corrections can be the snippet pairs that both have no more unaligned words than a word alignment threshold and have no aligned word pair with a character edit difference above an edit distance threshold. In some implementations, word alignments can be found by aligning all the characters between a pair of language snippets, and identifying aligned words as those that have at least one aligned letter in common.

The method includes obtaining a natural query sentence inputted by a user, and identifying a globally unique identifier, with respect to the knowledge map, of an entity in the natural query sentence. The method also includes according to a context-free grammar rule, parsing the natural query sentence into a syntax tree, and according to the syntax tree, obtaining a logical expression corresponding to the natural query sentence. Moreover, the method includes according to the logical expression and the globally unique identifier of the entity, generating a machine query sentence corresponding to the knowledge map.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides term extraction methods and apparatuses. One exemplary method comprises: acquiring description information of a network resource; performing an explicit-term extraction procedure on the description information to extract an explicit term from the description information; and performing a mode-term extraction procedure on the description information to extract an implicit term from the description information. Based on the technical solution of the present disclosure, both explicit terms that are easily discoverable and implicit terms that are not easily discoverable can be automatically extracted from the description information. The extraction can be more comprehensive, and the extraction quality can be improved.

Abstract: A machine may form all or part of a network-based system configured to provide media service to one or more user devices. The machine may be configured to define a station library within a larger collection of media files. In particular, the machine may access metadata that describes a seed that forms the basis on which the station library is to be defined. The machine may determine a genre composition for the station library based on the metadata. The machine may generate a list of media files from the metadata based on a relevance of each media file to the station library. The machine may determine the relevance of each media file based on a similarity of the media file to the genre composition of the station library as well as a comparison of metadata describing the media file to the accessed metadata that describes the seed.

A query for deriving a union of the output results of the first partial query and the second partial query may be generated, and processing related to the generated query may be executed in parallel.

In one embodiment, for example, the systems and methods include receiving a request for content call from an end-user device, identifying content that is contextually relevant to the image, delivering the content to the end-user device, and delivering a computer-readable instruction that causes the end-user device to perform an animation that displays the content in a spatial relationship with respect to the image as originally published. The spatial relationship is defined such that the content appears to be displayed on a backside of the image.

Abstract: Data records are joined using a computer. Data records in a first plurality of data records and a second plurality of data records are hashed. The data records in the first and second pluralities are respectively assigned to first and second groupings based on the hashes. Associated pairs of groupings from the first and second groupings are provided to a thread executing on a computer processor, and different pairs are provided to different threads. The threads operate on the pairs of groupings in parallel to determine whether to join the records in the groupings. A thread joins two data records under consideration if the hashes associated with the data records match. The joined data records are output.

Abstract: An approach for filtering data is presented. A relationship between first and second entity-metadata elements specifying a person and a vehicle, respectively, and between the person and the vehicle is determined. Representations of the first and second entity-metadata elements are displayed within a regular polygon that includes locations indicated by a geospatial tag that includes location information about the person extracted from profile information describing the person and by other geospatial tags included in metadata obtained from data extracted from streaming data and data at rest. The metadata includes contextual information that specifies an activity included in a domain of knowledge associated with law enforcement. Based on hidden Markov and support vector machine models, a frequent pattern growth algorithm, and a Kohonen map, another activity of the person is predicted.
