  • Patent number: 10183859
Abstract: A high-precision pressure sensor with two or more pressure ranges is formed from multiple micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) pressure transducers mounted inside a housing and coupled to sense a pressurized fluid. The non-linear outputs of the MEMS pressure transducers are linearized by a corresponding number of processors, preferably DSPs, each processor being coupled to a corresponding MEMS pressure transducer and receiving the MEMS pressure transducer output signal there from. Each processor generates an applied pressure output signal, which is representative of a pressure applied to the MEMS pressure transducer, which is a linearized and digitized version of output signal from the MEMS pressure transducers. The data that is output from multiple processors, each of which outputs pressure data pertaining to a different range of pressures, is transmitted serially on a serial data bus.

  • Patent number: 10183869
Abstract: A filtering system intended to be attached to the water tap in a shower. The system preferably uses two distinct filtering media in order to filter water—charcoal and kinetic degradation fluxion (“KDF”) media. The present invention preferably includes a bypass valve which allows the user to properly gauge and adjust the temperature of the water prior to passing the water through the filter. The present invention preferably includes two check valves as well. One such check valve is located at the filter entrance, and the other check valve is located at the filter exit. While the shower is activated, the pressure from the water forces each valve open. However, when the shower is not activated, each valve automatically closes (the valves are normally closed valves). The check valve system allows the KDF media to remain in a saturated state, which increases the efficacy and lifespan of the filtering media.

Abstract: A glass article having a low level of grainy appearance that can appear to have a shift in the pattern of the grains with changing viewing angle of a display, or “sparkle.” The glass article—which, in some embodiments, is a transparent glass sheet—has small-angle-scattering properties and/or distinctness-of-reflected-image (DOI), leading to improved viewability in display applications, especially under high ambient lighting conditions. In some embodiments, the antiglare surface of the glass sheet is an etched surface, with no foreign coating present on the antiglare surface.

  • Patent number: 10183893
Abstract: A compact is formed by introducing a slurry containing a ceramic powder or a metal powder, a binder and a solvent into a compaction die, and compacting the slurry in the compaction die. The compact embedded in the compaction die is immersed in an alternative CFC (liquid) (FIG. 4A). The solvent contained in the compact is gradually replaced with the alternative CFC. In the course of this process, the compact separates naturally from the compaction die (releasing is achieved) without receiving an external force. Subsequently, the compact is taken out of the alternative CFC (liquid). The alternative CFC has a boiling point as low as 95° C. at 1 atmospheric pressure. Accordingly, the alternative CFC contained in the compact will volatilize at high speed, thus being removed. Consequently, the compact can be dried in a relatively short time without being heated.

Abstract: Provided is a method for suppressing rear face oxidation and a lining structure, with which high airtightness and a great effect of suppressing rear face oxidation are obtained. The method for suppressing rear face oxidation of a carbon-containing refractory includes forming an adherent layer on a rear face of a carbon-containing refractory by applying an alkali metal silicate aqueous solution to the rear face and solidifying the alkali metal silicate aqueous solution. The alkali metal silicate aqueous solution contains an alkali metal oxide R2O (R is an alkali metal element) and SiO2 and has a molar ratio of SiO2 to the alkali metal oxide of 2.3 or more. The carbon-containing refractory is used at a high temperature of 400° C. or more and contains 1 mass % or more of carbon or a carbon compound.

Abstract: The use of exploding targets has become a popular practice aid in the military, law enforcement and consumer levels. The inventor has conceived and reduced to practice, in a preferred embodiment of the invention, a safe explosive target formulation that is initiated by low-velocity impact. This formulation represents a binary explosive in that the fuel and oxidizer are packaged separately until directly prior to use. Safe, explosive targets for high velocity applications are common. A formulation for low velocity projectile applications which employs an aluminum/magnesium alloy fuel and a potassium perchlorate/ammonium nitrate oxidizer is described.
