  • Patent number: 10206343
Abstract: A plant nutrient delivery system comprises a sensor, an electronically actuated valve and an electronic controller. The sensor is positionable in plant growing media and operable to detect a condition of the plant growing media. The electronically actuated valve has a connection to a liquid nutrient source. The electronic controller is linked to the sensor and to the electronically actuated valve. The controller is programmed to carry out automatic demand-based nutrient delivery to the plant growing media by controlling the electronically actuated valve to turn on and off based on signals received from the sensor regarding a condition of the plant growing media, thereby causing a flow of the liquid nutrient into the plant growth media to start and to stop. Methods are also described.

  • Patent number: 10206344
Abstract: A hydroponic plant cultivation apparatus including a reservoir having a base defining a first portion of the reservoir and a cover defining a second portion of the reservoir. An upper opening is defined in the cover. A planting column with a hollow interior is positioned above the upper opening. At least one planting port is defined in the planting column. A conduit can pass through the hollow interior of the planting column, the conduit fluidly communicated with the reservoir. A fluid distributor is positioned atop the planting column, the fluid distributor in fluid communication with the conduit. Fluid is selectively circulated from the reservoir through the conduit in the planting column to the fluid distributor, where the fluid is redirected down the hollow interior of the planting column and back to the reservoir. • Patent number: 10206368
Abstract: A milking system includes a milking apparatus for milking of dairy animals, and a plurality of wearing parts, inclusive of teat liners and/or milk lines and/or pulsation lines. The system further includes a computer system configured to control and/or monitor the milking apparatus, and to generate a signal which indicates that one of the wearing parts should be replaced and provides a characterization of that wearing part. The milking system further includes a 3D printer operatively connected to the computer system and configured to print the characterized part on the basis of the generated signal. Thus it is not necessary to keep an unnecessarily large stock of spare parts, but it becomes possible to directly provide the spare parts quickly, cheaply and with less chance of errors. Moreover, it is thus possible to tailor the parts, especially teat liners, to animals.

  • Patent number: 10206375
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for examining eggs, in particular for determining eggshell characteristics of eggs, the method comprising, positioning the eggs to be examined, with a deformer, deforming a part of such an egg at least once, at least determining deformation contact time, and determining the shell stiffness and/or the eggshell strength of such an egg. Such a manner of detection can be suitably applied to sorting machines for eggs. With this methodology, in a short time, for a very large number of products, such as eggs in the present case, a quality parameter such as the strength and/or stiffness can be determined. With such determinations, in an advantageous manner, high requirements set in many fields of technology and industry can be met.

  • Patent number: 10206377
Abstract: Disclosed is an aquaponics system with minimal outflows of waste. A stream of waste water from aquatic animals is mineralized in a waste conversion unit having algae and bacteria located on multiple horizontal plates through which the stream of waste water flows. The stream of waste leaving the waste conversion unit passes through troughs upon which plants are hydroponically grown by absorbing the mineralized waste. The water leaving the troughs is returned to the tank holding the aquatic animals and the cycle is repeated. The system may be augmented with an air source, a light source, and a nutrient source in the waste conversion unit to further enhance the breakdown of the animal waste. Additionally, floating trays may be utilized in the troughs to support a wide range of plants hydroponically grown in the troughs.

  • Patent number: 10206378
Abstract: A method of increasing the probability of breeding swine via a lighting system with a programmable timing device. The lighting system is programmed to present differing photoperiods such that the amount of light observed by a swine every day or week gradually decreases, mimicking a seasonal change, typically from summer to fall. As a result, swine psychologically and physiologically believe that seasons are changing resulting in increased probability of breeding for the swine.

  • Patent number: 10206383
Abstract: A line tier for a fishing tackle item that makes line tying easier and safer has an enclosure with a tackle retention end and a second end, a rotatable member extending from the second end permitting rotation of the enclosure about the rotatable member. The enclosure is openable so that in the open configuration a tackle item can be inserted such that a portion of the tackle item protrudes from the enclosure. In the closed configuration, the tackle item is held securely with a portion of the tackle item protruding from an elongated slot formed in the tackle retention end of the enclosure. A plurality of fishing lines can be held securely in the enclosure with a portion of each fishing line protruding from the enclosure on the tackle retention end and the second end of the enclosure.

Abstract: A hollow-bodied frustoconical fishing bobber has a top section with a semi-spherical, concave top surface with a line aperture in the bottom of the semi-spherical top surface and a depending tube through which a fishing line may extend. Below the top section are two hollow semi-cylindrical halves with bottom walls that are joinable together and connectable to the bottom of the top section with the depending tube passing through and ending at the joinable bottom walls. A continuous helical fin in three sections is on the outer surface of the top section and two semi-cylindrical halves which causes the fishing bobber to spin about it radial axis. Weights are locating with the hollow body.
