  • Patent number: 10234973
Abstract: A touch panel, a display device and a driving method thereof are provided. In the touch panel, a transparent conductive layer is arranged on a side of an array substrate away from an opposite substrate. The transparent conductive layer, functioning as a shielding layer, and touch detection electrodes are applied with an identical touch detection signal at a touch stage. A capacitor is formed by the shielding layer and a metal layer below the touch panel, and a change in distance from the touch panel to the metal layer due to deformation of the touch panel pressed by a finger only affects capacitance between the shielding layer and the metal layer and causes a change in the touch detection signal applied to the shielding layer, while capacitances of the touch detection electrodes are not affected. Therefore, the accuracy of touch sensing is effectively improved.

  • Patent number: 10235001
Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device with a touch detection function includes a controller, touch wiring that supplies a touch drive signal to drive electrodes, and a plurality of switch groups that are provided for each of the drive electrodes, each of the plurality of switch groups having selection switches. The plurality of switch groups select a drive electrode to be coupled to a touch wiring based on a selection signal from the controller. The selection switches for each of the plurality of switch groups are coupled in parallel with each other between a corresponding drive electrode and the touch wiring, and for each of the drive electrodes, all of the selection switches operate in accordance with the selection signal, couple the corresponding drive electrodes and the touch wiring, and apply the touch drive signal to the corresponding drive electrodes.

  • Patent number: 10235002
Abstract: A capacitive touch sensor device comprising set of crossing X and Y electrodes whose crossing points form a two-dimensional array of nodes which define a touch sensitive area. As well as the main electrode spines which cross, referred to as zeroth order electrode branches, the electrodes have higher order branches, some of which interdigitate. By varying the dimensions of the electrode branches, such as width and length, the overall area of the X and Y electrodes can be varied relatively independently of each other. It is therefore possible to produce an electrode pattern in which the self capacitances of the X and Y electrodes have a certain ratio, e.g. unity, and thereby compensate for the aspect ratio of the touch sensitive area, and/or to have a certain absolute value, e.g. in order not to overload a touch-sensor controller to which the sensor is to be connected.

  • Patent number: 10235007
Abstract: A personal electronic device is adapted to construct data tables from user input received over time relating to translations of translatable items from a first language to a second language. Entries in a data table for a user are dynamic and may indicate likelihoods of the user correctly translating translatable items as a function of time. Each translatable item may have a different time-dependent likelihood of a correct translation. Operation of the personal electronic device for a user may be based in part on the acquired, time-dependent likelihoods for that user, so that information may be presented to the user in a more efficient manner.
