Abstract: The invention relates to a cigarette cutter for cutting cigarettes. The cigarette cutter includes a housing assembly with a base portion and sidewall portion surrounding the base portion that together form a cavity wherein the base portion is coupled to a spring assembly and the spring assembly is coupled to a plunger assembly through a guide rail. The plunger assembly includes a base plate coupled to a cutter assembly that includes a blade that extends a distance from the base of the plunger assembly. In addition, formed along the sidewall portion is an aperture and coupled with the aperture is a cigarette receiving plate for receiving a cigarette and the receiving plate includes a groove or slot that runs vertical to the cigarette. The plunger when compressed extends the blade through the aperture and through the cigarette and to the bottom of the groove or through the slot so as to provide a clean cigarette cut.

Abstract: The present invention relates to containers having caps with smoking tools attached thereon, including an ashtray with a poker protruding inwards from its associated cap, and a jar for smoking materials having a combination scoop and packer protruding inwards from its associated cap. More than one container may be temporarily attached to another container via a single or multiple caps having means of attachment to another cap, and the caps may contain means for grinding material. The present invention makes loading and packing into, and removing ash from, a smoking device faster, easier, neater, and more convenient.

The inner pouch which can be made of pile material is then inserted through the opening of and into the outer pouch and spread to conform to the shape of the outer pouch. The impact absorbing material includes multiple structures, such as rods or filaments, capable of deforming when force is applied then returning to its state prior to application of the force. In various embodiments, the impact absorbing material is manufactured using injection molding to allow positioning of various structures in the impact absorbing material relative to each other during manufacture. During manufacturing, one or more living hinges are included in portions of the impact absorbing material to allow certain portions of the impact absorbing material to be accurately positioned relative to each other. Other manufacturing methods may be used, such as three-dimensional printing may be used to include structures in the impact absorbing material.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to a shoe upper that is formed as a substantially planar article with varied functional zones integrated therein. The varied functional zones may be strategically positioned zones having varied degrees of stretch. Additionally, it is contemplated that the functional zones may provide dimensional variation (e.g., thickness) and/or permeability (e.g., breathability) characteristics. The substantially planar upper may then be formed into a three-dimensional upper having a volume that may be occupied by a wearer's foot.

Abstract: A modified shoe that allows the forefoot to extend, creating an everted forefoot in relation to an inverted heel. This action of the foot creates a higher and contracted medial arch. The force of the first metatarsophalangeal joint and first phalange pushing against the ground tilts the rest of the foot at a slight angle to the lateral side, creating supination. The modified shoe also incorporates a unique process of pre-stretching forefoot flex grooves that will allow for a more efficient hinge at the metatarsophalangeal joints. This allows for the several biomechanical changes to a person's gait pattern. This shoe will allow for people to walk with a more natural gait pattern, and not the gait pattern that many people have adopted due to restrictive footwear. This shoe will be ideal for people with forefoot varus, and will have benefits for people with a neutral foot as well.

Abstract: A method of chamfering an aperture in a reel member of a tensioning system for an article of footwear is disclosed. The tensioning system includes a reel member configured to rotate about a central axis. The reel member includes a shaft and at least one flange disposed along the shaft. The flange includes an aperture extending through the flange. The aperture is configured to receive a lace. The reel member can tighten the tensioning system by winding the lace around portions of the shaft disposed on both sides of the at least one flange. The method of chamfering the aperture includes drilling through an end flange of the reel member to reach the center flange of the reel member in order to chamfer the aperture. The chamfered aperture can assist with sliding the lace through the aperture and distributing tension.

The tensioning mechanism is removably coupleable with an article without damaging the article so that upon removal, the coupling of the tensioning mechanism with the article is unrecognizable or not readily detectable. The tensioning mechanism is operable with a tension member to maintain a tension of the tension member and thereby maintain a tightness of the article. The tension member is guided along a path about the article, via one or more guide members, and is tensionable, via the tensioning mechanism, to tighten the article.

Abstract: Adjustable traction is provided in a traction cleat by selectively restricting or not the amount of flexure permitted for a dynamic traction element on the cleat. Restricting flexure is alternatively achieved by an adjustably positionable ring or by rotating the cleat to align the dynamic element with different shoe sole topographical features. A dual locking post is provided to reduce the surface area required on the cleat hub for locking structures. The cleat is formed in a two shot molding process that permits elongations of the dynamic traction elements without sacrificing the integrity of the cleat structure.
