Publication number: 20190283904Abstract: A method of determining a maintenance status of an aircraft engine to be tested. The method includes measuring spectral radiation intensities at a plurality of wavelengths and at a plurality of viewing angles from an exhaust plume of an aircraft engine to be tested so as to provide a plurality of measured spectral radiation intensities. Then, converting the plurality of measured spectral radiation intensities to test planar maps of at least one of: temperature, carbon dioxide concentration, and soot volume fractions. Next, comparing each test planar map to a fiducial map so as to provide a normal distance between the test planar map and the fiducial map. Then, the normal distance is compared to at least one threshold so as to determine a maintenance status of the aircraft engine to be tested. The method reduces the cost and time needed for aircraft maintenance, while increasing safety.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2019Publication date: September 19, 2019Inventors: Yudaya R. Publication number: 20190283905Abstract: Provided is a single-axis pointing pure magnetic control algorithm for a spacecraft based on geometrical analysis to realize single-axis pointing control of the spacecraft through the pure magnetic control algorithm in which a magnetic torque is only output by a magnetorquer to interact with a geomagnetic field to generate a control torque. The algorithm uses a spatial geometry method to obtain an optimally controlled magnetic torque direction, thereby designing a PD controller. The problem that the traditional magnetic control method is low in efficiency and even cannot be controlled is overcome. The algorithm is simple and easy, can be used in the attitude control field of spacecrafts, and achieves the pointing control in point-to-sun of a solar array and point-to-ground of antennae.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2016Publication date: September 19, 2019Applicant: AEROSPACE DONGFANGHONG DEVELOPMENT LTDInventors: Yimin KOU, Bibo GUO, Lijun XUE, Shilong WEI, Yanbo JI, Qin YUAN, Yingchun ZHANG

Publication number: 20190283945Abstract: A reclosable flexible package is described that includes an inner film layer, an outer film layer laminated to the inner film layer, and reclose region defined in a portion of package film layers. The reclose region includes pressure sensitive adhesive disposed between the inner and outer film layers. A number of cut lines are provided in the outer film layer in the reclose region, such that the user, by manipulating the package film layers at the reclose region, can reveal the underlying layer of pressure sensitive adhesive. Once the pressure sensitive adhesive of the reclose region is exposed, the action of the user can serve to adhere the pressure sensitive adhesive to itself and/or other portions of the film, such that the package is cinched in the area of the reclose region and maintains the remnants of the package contents within the reclosed package for later use.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2019Publication date: September 19, 2019Inventor: Jacob Donald Prue Branyon

Publication number: 20190283947Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a carton for packaging one or more articles. The carton (90) comprises a side wall (14,18) and a top portion formed in part by a top wall panel (16) and an upper end closure panel (34) hinged to the top wall panel along a first end edge thereof. A carrying handle (H) is defined in the top portion. A gusset panel (32) is hinged to the upper end closure panel along a first side edge. An anchor panel (26) is hinged to the gusset panel and to the side wall. The anchor panel is folded into a face to face relationship with the side panel so as to secure the upper end closure panel in a closed condition. A handle-reinforcing structure (12) is disposed at least in part about the carrying handle. The handle-reinforcing structure is coupled to the anchor panel by two or more connecting panels.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 4, 2017Publication date: September 19, 2019Inventor: Julien D. Merzeau

Publication number: 20190283949Abstract: A container and a method for forming a container that has a base flange on a base, and a lid flange on a lid. One or both of the base flange and lid flange have a relief pattern. For each flange that has the relief pattern, the relief pattern imparts rigidity in the flange to resist flexure of the flange relative to the portion of the container (the base or lid) to which the flange is attached.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2018Publication date: September 19, 2019Inventor: Travis Figgins
