  • Patent number: 10510087
Abstract: A system and method is provided that provides an early indication of consensus of opinion among a number of users regarding an event or observation indicated by a user. The opinion can be interesting to an information consumer, for determining the outcome of the consensus relating to the event or observation, or for performing surveillance or survey of a particular issue or subject. Such recognition of early events or observations can be useful in different areas, such as healthcare, finance, etc., where initial observations, if provided early, allow resulting decisions to be made much earlier. The opinion can, for instance, be used as an early indicator of problem with a product, company, etc. that would permit an information consumer to perform an action at a much earlier point than if he/she relied on traditional sources of information. Thus, such opinion information can be invaluable as a tool for monitoring events.

  • Patent number: 10510089
Abstract: A system predicts a value estimate for a user who provides a service that involves moving among geographical regions (e.g., a transportation service). The system determines the value estimate by identifying a sequence of time periods, each time period having an associated set of geographical regions. Possible transitions between geographical regions in different time periods are analyzed, for example, using statistical or machine-learned models, to determine likelihoods that the user will move between the geographical regions from one time period to another, and to determine expected values for a transition. Such models may be trained or developed using historical service data and user profile data stored by the system. Transitions are analyzed over a sequence of time periods to determine accumulated values associated with estimated overall values for each geographical region. The system predicts an overall value estimate for the user based on the accumulated values.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments for optimization of an energy grid system. First and second prediction models associated with a first energy grid system and a second energy grid system, respectively, may be trained based on historical data associated with each energy grid system. A prediction model basis may be created including the first and second prediction models. Training data associated with a third energy grid system may be input into each prediction model of the prediction model basis, and an accuracy of the prediction models may be evaluated to determine whether the prediction model basis is complete. When complete, a context-matching model may be trained based on subsequent energy grid systems until the context-matching model is determined to be sufficiently accurate. Then, the context-matching model may be used to identify a prediction model matching a new energy grid system, which may be used to warm-start the new energy grid system.

  • Patent number: 10510134
Abstract: An existing metadata set that is specific to a color volume transformation model is transformed to a metadata set that is specific to a distinctly different color volume transformation model. For example, source content metadata for a first color volume transformation model is received. This source metadata determines a specific color volume transformation, such as a sigmoidal tone map curve. The specific color volume transformation is mapped to a color volume transformation of a second color volume transformation model, e.g., a Bézier tone map curve. Mapping can be a best fit curve, or a reasonable approximation. Mapping results in metadata values used for the second color volume transformation model (e.g., one or more Bézier curve knee points and anchors). Thus, devices configured for the second color volume transformation model can reasonably render source content according to received source content metadata of the first color volume transformation model.
