Abstract: A system for indicating a direction to a user is disclosed. The system may include a first unit and a second unit to be worn proximate to a first ear and a second ear of the user respectively. The system may indicate a direction to the user through tactile sensations delivered proximate to the ears of the user by the first and second units. The system may also include microphones to aid in determining the direction of a source of a sound and the system may indicate the determined direction, thereby allowing the user to localize the sound. The system may also function as hearing aids. The system may aid individuals with hearing disabilities by alerting them to the direction of the source of a sound.

Abstract: A protective ankle brace has at least one pocket that houses at least one pouch, and at least one strap, and covers both sides of an ankle of a foot placed within the ankle brace. The pouch contain a dilatant fluid that is flexible to allow normal motion for walking and running but on a rapid movement or one with a high force, the dilatant resists movement. The at least one strap covers the one or two pockets to retain the pouch or pouches. The strap restricts the maximum eversion and inversion of the ankle brace when a force is applied and further protects the ankle within the ankle brace. The strap can be a bladder containing a dilatant fluid.

Abstract: A tray and method for efficient counting of a desired number of pharmaceutical pills or capsules from a bulk supply and distributing said counted pills and any excess pills into a target container and the bulk supply respectively. The preferred embodiment of this invention incorporates a sprung, hinged flap which, when pressed into contact with the flat counting surface, forms a trapping enclosure for excess pills while the desired number of pills are poured with a novel funneling structure. Although useful by itself, the tray and method are designed for optimal time and motion efficiency and for accuracy when used with a machine-vision pill counter.

Abstract: A medication reminder system includes a container and a reminder ring. The container includes a plurality of protuberances located along the neck area of which creates a groove between each protuberance and the container includes indicia. The indicia are time indicators located at a rotational position along a circumference of the shoulder area. The ring is rotatably engaged to the neck area of the container to indicate a time for a next medication dosage. The ring has a plurality of internal locking members which each rotationally engage at least one of the plurality of protuberances to lock the ring in a desired rotated position. The ring has at least one external member which points to indicia located at a shoulder area of the container.

Abstract: Disclosed is a preparation for the interdental delivery of oral care agent. The preparation comprising one or more oral care agents contained in particles comprising an orally acceptable release matrix, wherein the particles are resiliently deformable and capable of being compressed so as to fit in an interdental space. The particles can thus be provided in a size slightly larger than that of an interdental space. By compression they can be inserted, particularly jetted, into interdental spaces, and their tendency to thereupon expand again provides a force retaining them in the space where they were applied, without being prone to washing away by saliva.
